Whenever I'm browsing your channel, first thing I check out is the field railway playlist to find an update... Can't tell why, but it's kinda soothing to see and hear the wood wagons going up and down the track 😄 And I'm hoping for a long "Tornado special" soon! Anyway, your vids gave me the courage to just follow through with my own DIY projects. Just making things happen, and not being taken down by any setback that's coming along sooner or later... You've become one of my primary addresses on CZcams. Thanks for all the good stuff, man!

I get so much enjoyment from your videos. I started watching your content because of you house! Natural builds and living roofs are cool!
Your skillset is amazing. And you truly seem to enjoy life and all of the challenges and joys it brings.
Now railways are cool. Old engines are too! Plasma cutters can do amazing things. Growing garlic is fun, and I've enjoyed learning from you as you did all of that.
Please make videos for you and Sandra, and those that will watch will watch. Cheers from Kentucky USA

Hi Tim, fabulous news about possibly building many Motts! The wooden car seems to be quite unique on CZcams. Also the driver head height is more in line with car drivers. There are many recumbent designs on youtube, but I wouldn't want tto drive one on the roads in traffic. Also, recumbents were made for human power only. The electric bike motors have changed everything.
Many thanks and best wishes, John

power issues - maybe run through your supply/distribution boxes tightening all the connections? thermal effects tend to losen terminal screws over time, increasing resistance of connection, could lead to fire as well. be safe!

It's life. You get one thing going and something else creeps in and throws everything for a loop. If you are anything like me sitting in front of the computer for editing video and doing technical drawings rots your brain. After I edit a few video's I have a hard time even sitting at a computer for a couple months... part of the reason why I haven't been around much.
Got a little bit done here and there over the last few months myself and now the busy season starts up. We pulled about a ton of rock out of the ground so we could put in a small garden. The area where the garden will work best is also an area that was filled in at some point over the 100 years the house has been standing and it seems rock was the idea back then, lol. After that the ground was about 6" lower but since the crawlspace under the house is very shallow I have been taking out the topsoil to help fill in the garden as well as low spots in the yard. I get down to the rock/clay layer and then move on to another area so far have about 18" of increased depth and eventually I will start pulling out the rock and clay layer to see what kind of depth I can get. The foundation is also in rough shape so I figure if I can get to around 10' depth I will just go for a basement. Took down part of a couple trees... eventually to take them down all the way since I don't want some 60 foot plus monstrosity near the house. Going to put in some smaller stuff in the front yard that will help pollinators in the early part of the year (Redbud trees) and maybe a small fruit tree in the back along with a Japanese maple so don't fret about the trees that are going to be gone. Thankfully the city has a cleanup day where the run around with a chipper to help clean up the brush, was also nice to get a couple yards of chips for mulch in the garden for free. They also just dump it all in a pile and leave it so might see about finding a place to compost it and sell but who knows.
Next up for a small project is a sawmill so I can cut up some of the larger logs I got from the trees I cut down. I have one that is called a hackberry and the other I think is American Elm (the heartwood is a right golden color) so may be able to make a few things with the boards I get. Where I am at there is also a ton of western red cedar around I can probably get for free and who knows what else I can come across.

I am not a proponent of climate change, but I do wholeheartedly agree that earth goes through seasons as an entire planet. Some centuries hotter or cooler than others, maybe seasons wetter or drier...
Regardless, it is hard to have a conversation via CZcams post, but I will continue to send my best wishes to you!

Before the 1900s we were in a downswing of those "seasons" you're talking about. So the earth was cooling down, but now the amount of carbon in the atmosphere is higher than it has been in the entire history of our planet.

Check your facts. The Earth's co2 level has been much higher.

The rate of plant growth and seed germination is also higher than it has been in the entire history of our planet. At the same time CO2 accounts for 0.035% of the atmosphere and, at least in the US, we plant over a billion trees annually while having nature produce 4000 liquid litres of oxygen for every liquid litre of CO2 we produce.
I understand that media coverage over the issues and effects of climate change are mainly over stated due to news and politicians tending to say, in a fancy way, "the world is going to end" because it almost always guarantees publicity and or money.
I stand on the side of the argument where I believe earth and its natural processes are like a, big, slow pendulum always seeking equilibrium each time it swings back and forth and that while humans may be able to affect the pendulum in some very negative ways, at some point in time it will return to a relative equilibrium. Now I am still a complete proponent of making everything as energy and material efficient as possible since we as humans should be smart in what we do, however I believe there is a point where it is too extreme.@@baileykeller288
Also I think that in the 1900's we started entering earth's global "summer" and were leaving "winter." These seasons/cycles are known to happen over the span of centuries.
