Hey Rajat, do you think there will be a significant advance regarding companies that choose to use RoR in the coming years, due to the notable improvements that the framework has had in its latest versions?

      A BIG YES. 💯
Rails will definitely keep on increasing. There are couples of theories that I have for that:
      1. With time it is become more and more easy to develop websites in Rails and with usage of AI using rails for backend and frontend and handling business logic with AI related tools can definitely mean fast development.
      2. In last decade a lot of developers were going to universities and learning Computer Science in depth which meant that doing a bit more hard-work in languages/development was possible. But in this decade university courses have also shifted a bit towards development and AI which also means that they are not teaching Computer Science upto the same level of depth that they use to teach, so now developers will need tools which can help them develop things without going in too much depth. Rails is completely based on developer-friendly concept only so it supports rails.
But I do believe to sustain in this competitive market knowing just Rails is not the best option. You should also know React or developing some mobile apps or maybe something else.

Personally, I think it is a very complete framework, and perhaps it had been left aside a bit due to its steep learning curve and rigidity. But in recent times I have noticed that there are more and more JS frameworks that seek to remove that 'flexibility' and free will that they previously boasted of, for example cases like NestJS, which is increasingly gaining popularity, or Nextjs.
      What do you think??

Those other frameworks will definitely flourish more because of use of JavaScript at its core but removing the flexibility in favour of faster development is definitely the future. Rails is definitely a complete framework but Ruby is generally not the primary language when someone starts learning development. It’s generally Java or Python or JavaScript (or C/ C++) and whatever is your starting language definitely sets a tone of next technologies for majority of developers.
Overall future is really good for Rails developers.

@rajattalesra I agree with you, I have been developing in JS for about 5 years and I understand that it is the leading and default language on the web, but when I started learning Ruby and RoR I loved the framework, mainly because I feel that it is very rewarding develop in it. In particular from version 7 onwards, for example with the direct implementations of tailwind and esbiuild, which you can already configure when starting your project with the --css and --js flags. The speed of JS packaging improved greatly with the implementation of ESM and bundlers like esbuild.
I think that a factor that is often left aside is the fact of the lack of 'dissemination' of this programming language and framework. That's why I think your support for the community with these videos is fantastic, because there isn't much material compared to other languages.

Thanks a lot and I definitely agree with your thoughts. I have been developing in rails for last 3 years but the content was really less. So finally when I have time now I thought let’s create Rails content. :-) Thanks for your support. 😀
