Gotta give the background on this because its an "Only Morissette!" moment. Sony started a Christian Label in the Philippines called "Waterwalk " records and who did they get to launch the label with the first single? Morissette of course! This song went on to be nominated for an AWIT last year (The Equivalent of the Grammys in the Philippines) Morissette has quite a unique deal because eventhough shes signed and is actually an owner with Underdog, she still is contracted with other labels there for individual projects. Disney, Star, Sony, Warner etc. That being said you have GOT to do her live Performance of "Ang Huling El Bimbo " on her channel ! That collab with Troy Lauretas arrangement is craaazzzy!

@yoojin3877 I'm just going to be real and I know it's never about awards, but I was surprised that Gusto didn't take the record of the year this year for AWITs. Granted I don't know the impact fully of the other nominees. It was just such a strong candidate. There is no doubt artists will be singing and covering that song for years to come.
@@BoraViolin its the same thing when those judges didn't give her the winning ticket in all her singing! But, all we do is look at the kids and adults in every street corner doing (videoke/karaoke) trying to be Mori with GKNB! We're all sick of politics there. Won't matter to me. She just killed on Huling El Bimbo, and what do we get? Somebody else is trying to outMori Morissette! SMH, scratching my head too!

Troy Lauretta who is Filipino, based in the U.S., worked with Mori on this song for his album. Troy has worked with Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea just to name a few. It’s really a must see. The song was originally done in 1995.
Definitely right Nick. Everyone can sing in the Philippines and lots of famous artists there but Morissette is shining above them. Why? She puts God first in her life and never shies away from letting the world know she is a child of God. She is faithful to her relationship with the Lord and this is the result, God opens doors to her and blesses her life abundantly. Have a good day Nick!
Thanks Nick! Great point about the difference you see when Mori is singing about or to the Lord and how it becomes about the praise and worship that we know goes along with her faith. Morissette is such a great witness for Christ in the way that she uses her God-given gifts. When I saw her on stage in Dallas, Texas last year, Morissette called on the audience to give God the glory. She and Dave both are such humble servants, and I give thanks for how God uses her/their gifts to bring so much joy into the lives of so many.❤❤❤❤

This is all about the message and not so much the showy vocals, as a song of worship should be. Subtle and subdued yet beautiful and heartfelt, sung with appropriate reverence, but still has some of those great Mori high notes we love. Her light and airy notes are so lovely and supremely controlled. God blessed her with the Midas touch - whatever she sings turns to gold.
