I may be dead wrong, but the ground looks super moist. Threshing (harvesting) moist ground / stems is a great way to bind up your combine. Perhaps the ground itself was moist but the crops were dry enough to thresh. Just an observation.
You're right. The Ground ist wet. However thats not a combine but a Forage harvester. It takes a wet crop no problem. But the Ground is gonna be compacted due to the weight of these machines.
