Quinn and Lee were not in the 1997 video because we hadn't met them yet. John, from the Diana video (who says "What would be on CNN if this weren't happening?") is still our friend but moved to Chicago. Everyone is still alive and well as of now, June 12, 2021. - Zábava

You're right, we did move on to "advanced UNO." In the 1997 Diana video we were playing with the old-style cards (I still have them) and then a new version of UNO came along with redesigned cards and an automated dispensing unit, battery-operated and we play that. We also like to play Catch Phrase and Apples to Apples. We've never been serious game players. We just play games as an excuse to talk and laugh. We don't really care who wins and usually don't even keep score.

Ken keeps us laughing. Scott is very funny also, and smart (usually wins whatever game we play). Quinn, seen here sitting between Ken and Scott, was only 6 years old when Diana died.

@@potatoO0o Quinn is 29 today so when this video was taken in 2013 he would have been about 22 or 23, and yes only 6 when Diana died.

This video is 16 years after the Diana video, taken in 2013. Now in 2021 Ken and Scott STILL look very much the same. Quinn, who you see joining us for this game, was just 6 years old when Diana died.

Yeah, I'm young for some, but old for the others, as I'm 30 now. And this video was that long ago, and I seem to be the same age as that younger guy who was only 6 in the reaction video, and he wasn't that young in this one, and I wasn't either. 😂 Oh, actually, I was 4-5 in 1997, but it's not that different now.

I know exactly what you mean, I don’t have a close group of friends either!🙁 I always feel jealous whenever I see or hear about a group of friends who are all close, ®ularly make the effort to see each other! I live in a new area now, &I don’t really know anyone...it’s a bit lonely sometimes!
It’s also so hard to make new friends as an adult, for so many reasons! The last time I asked somebody if she wanted to get a coffee after yoga class, she looked at me like I had an asshole in the middle of my forehead! If only making friends were as easy as it used to be when we were kids!🙁

I find that pre internet 80s-90s friendships among gay folks to be pretty strong. They had to be there for each other during the AIDS crisis, which was hard due to a wave of bigotry. My boss is the same age as those featured in the video and we discussed this topic.

Something about this group makes me feel very happy and cozy. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed watching ppl I don’t know just…hang out.
I think a part of it is that it’s all candid. Everyone knows there’s a camera there, but nobody is acting like they’re being watched. I can just watch you, and never feel like you’re trying to get something from me. You don’t care about my attention, my likes, etc.

I think it’s so great that you all continue to invest in your friendship and play games / have game night. Good for all of you! And I appreciate you sharing the video of when you learned about Princess Di’s death. I was building a PC with my husband (he passed a few years ago) and had forgotten we were doing that when we learned about the crash and her death. I cried like a baby. She was such a loved person. I was soooo sad when I watched her funeral and saw little prince Harry just looking so sad and yet stoic. I really hope his children and Megan bring him great joy and peace.
