  • / @nickfoleyuk Good day all!
How are you doing? I just had a few minutes earlier today to run through some of those mystery extra voices that are much talked about on the Hammond XK5. Apart from the differences between A100, B3 and C3 there is also Vx and Farf - whatever they could mean...
Lets find out together! More from me exclusively at / nickfoleyuk

The only difference between an A-100 (and the others in the A series: e.g., 102, 103), B3 and C3 made in the same year is the furniture; the tonewheel organ mechanisms are identical. Unlike the B and C models, the A series had internal speakers.
Due to variances in the parts and assembly, every tonewheel Hammond has unique sound characteristics, and in general, different years will have differences in their sounds.
What's great about the XK5 is you can go deep to edit the parameters for each and every key to customize your sound vs original tonewheel organs.
I own a '62 A-102 with matching Leslie 142; as well as an XK5 based A-3 (and SKx)

The pipes on the pipe organ are either on or off there's no graduation to a church pipe i guess
