I clicked on the Steam Shortcut property, added "-vgul" and applied it.
Steam RAM usage has been reduced from 2gb to 500mb usage.

I tried the old steam interface option, and all of a sudden everything is fine and back to normal, I don't have a bad rig either(2080 super/i7-12700k), everything runs fine, every other launcher downloads games seamlessly, I wonder why steams UI is actually such a problem for my computer, It's really frustrating and scary. Making me think its time for an upgrade when really it's just the UI... Thanks Enrique!
You are welcome! The new UI is a cpu and memory hoarder. Let’s hope valve fix it or at least doesn’t remove the access to still use the old one. Thanks for the comment!

thanks for this tip another one I would say that helps might change the monitor settings on device manager helped me.
Yeah. But this can Chance the performance overall and for some games or applications maybe you don’t want that. But thanks for the tip!

I tried this. I added -vgui to the end, with a space at the front. I then ran the steam shortcut but it still shows the newer GUI. It asks me to select my user, as usual, and then picks the old GUI automatically. Any help?
It uses the new ui first then the old one?

@@fionatan9636 I believe he just means the desktop icon. The way he explained it was just making sure you have the file path where you want it.
I dont get high cpu or gpu or anything usage , when i shift + tab and try to type the whole thing gets bogged down as if i am running a million processes but my ram is barely utilized at all.

why dose steam big picure mode run so bad its at 5fps for me max , i have 13600k+4070 ti, i looked for info but couldn't find anything.
nothing works for me either not until, I went to settings/interface/enable GPU accelerated rendering ing web views (requires restart)----- turn this on and let me know if it helped
Hey, do you have a tip for me? My Steam Video Player freezes every time I play a video, no matter which game.
The weird thing is that I think it's really the Steam Video Player because when I open the same video via the Steam browser or the Steam website via Google Chrome and play it with the Steam video player, it freezes just like before.
But if I right-click on the video and say Open the video in a separate tab, it opens the video in a different web player which then runs stably.
Any idea? I've already cleared the cache and so on in the Steam client several times, btw... I've also changed the location, i.e. region, but nothing seems to help.

If you are a Linux User with this problem, the Steam Beta actually fixes it for some people including me!
the issue i had when using the steam overlay was "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views" @ 1:04 . I disabled that and the steam overlay didnt lag anymore

Man I have two accounts another gives better FPS in CS 2 and main account gives lagging?

Si es por eso, aunque desde hace tiempo quiero empezar un canal en español, pero entre que no tengo un PC a mano en español y que tengo ya poco tiempo para este canal entre el trabajo y los niños está difícil, igual cuando esté crezca y pueda poner más tiempo a CZcams.
Que PC tienes? Igual es la versión nueva, puedes usar una versión antigua, o estoy trabajando en un vídeo nuevo, pero no se cuando estará listo
