How To: DIY OMBRE HAIR in Blue & Purple!

Because you all loved my SPLIT HAIR dye tutorial so much I thought I'd film another technique: OMBRE!
I went for a subtle ombre in blue and purple. I prefer using blues, greens and purple shades on my hair as it always fades back to mint green which makes it a hell of a lot easier when re-dying.
The dyes I used were:
Indigo, Colorista by L'oreal // tidd.ly/8ffa4e5c

I used the teal color rista and I was very pleased with it. I love how I could continue to use it throughout the months I had a teal part of my hair. I'm thinking about dying the ends of my hair. love how yours came out!!

Products
This is so late but using brands that talk about using conditioning formulas can help. So avoid box dye and go for the jars or bottles, reason why everyone talks so highly of Arctic fox. Using hair masks and an appropriate amount of conditioner can also help!

Thanks for sharing, I found this video bc I’m currently dying my hair ombré turquoise into teal into dark blue and was looking for a tutorial so I’m glad I found your video. Congrats on a million views that really is wild and such an achievement. That must be wild seeing yourself on the hair color box 😂 did they actually dye your hair for the photo shoot or was it done via photo editing? Bc I notice your hair isn’t indigo at the moment and I see you said you just did turquoise and blue but then again you probably did the shoot for that quite a while ago. I like colorista in that the colors are quite pretty but the only one I’ve used which was the pink washed out SO quickly. Obviously semi permanent isn’t gonna last forever and lighter pink shades fade especially fast but this washed out in a week if that. It faded into a pretty color so I wasn’t that mad but it’s quite expensive when you have to dye it that much. I was especially surprised bc I had bleached my hair to a very light color. The direct vibes brand pink lasted so much longer and I got 4 dyes out of the $12 tube and my hair is down to my boobs. I’m sure the indigo lasts a lot longer tho.

with arctic fox you don't need bleach really unless your hair is like jet black bet even then you'd just need to go in the sun for a bit make it beach blondish and your good.

Waaaw!! I really like it!!! I don't know if Colorista does exist in France but congrats for being on it!!! I going to look for it!!! I'm purple and blue too, but just because I used Crazy Color : Hot Purple and Violette. And when you wash Violette, it becomes blue!!

Hello Sophie! this tutorial helped me so much! I'm definitely trying it. I have a question. I wanna do the same but purple to blue instead. i have like 5 cm of roots (and the rest is blonde of course) and i wanna keep em. should i dye over the roots or start dying at the beggining of the blonde hair? thank you so much!
