      With the right support it’s beneficial to the community and those who use drugs and are addicted. It’s like watching porn, it’s a social taboo, looked down by religion, etc. But a natural human need to masturbate, surpressing or avoiding a need makes it worse. However, being nonjudgemental towards something helps provide many many benefits.

    Canada needs to do the Portugal model, not the Uber laissez faire half assed ancap like model Canada did that was designed to fail and was too extreme. Portugal had success cause they send addicts to rehab and still weren’t so laissez faire despite their decrim.

      Myth. Portugal is rethinking the whole policy as use has risen from 7.8 to 12.8 . Crime has also spiked by 14%. This sadly doesn't work either. As for the number of users, going for rehab has sharply reduced.

      Criminalizing hard drugs is the status quo, which precipitated the opioid crisis. Other provinces that criminalize addicts also have issues with addiction and overdoses, like Alberta and Saskatchewan

    Decriminalizing hard drugs will just make more addicts and cause more deaths, I don't understand why anyone would want to decriminalize it. It's illegal here still and I'm scared to use the public transit system, it's dangerous enough already with all the addicts out there. I feel sorry for BC, what about the rights of the person in a hospital bed next to a person smoking meth? How can that be legal? Aren't the laws to keep EVERYONE safe from harm?
