We tried and tested each design and they were all possible within a few minecraft days to make, using local materials. I hope you liked them and that you learned a thing or two about minecraft building!

So how do you play the start of your survival guys?
Just curious since it's not that hard to get an enchanting table in the first days, even if you can't enchant lvl30 right now it's still ready to go for later.
When i play survival, I’m pretty quick to try to get diamonds. Then i get obsidian for a nether portal and an ENCHANTING TABLE. Normally it takes a long time to get to level thirty enchantments, but if im REALLY LUCKY, i can get it fairly quick.

@@yashkale1689 That's literally a matter of changing the top wood blocks to slabs. the point of these are to be EXAMPLES not something you copy and paste. At best the ones specifically made in the video are just pretty structures with aesthetically pleasing interiors just like a real life model home,they aren't exactly designed to be moved into. These just give you an idea of what to build and where. In fact it's fair to say that this is not a tutorial build, Grian was very explicit about this throughout this video and many others like it where he showcases a few different things. Anyone who thinks otherwise are only setting themselves up for failure.

I love how Grian's style of making videos has never changed, even till now.
For the hole-in-the-ground house, you could also replace the glass with blue stained glass, that add some water (and maybe even a fish) above. I know that’s not really survival friendly but it would look cool
actually I wouldn't think that would be too difficult for survival. all you need is a bucket which wouldn't take too long to get and access to a large body of water. and its an awesome idea.

@@minervasucicorbegoso2097 Ik. sorry for the confusion I know i may have said it awkwardly. but what I meant was that it isn't all that difficult to do and its a brilliant idea. of course I exaggerated the water a bit. my mind set was you would be more likely to find an ocean or a lake than you would be to find random cave streams so a relatively decent sized body of water to get your first two buckets of water.

Grian can you do a genre series? Where you like go through different types of builds (Medieval, Rustic, Mediterranean, Asian, etc) I think that would be a great way to teach techniques for everyone, while not having to do block by block tutorials

Cuz irl, if you open a door to an ocean, water will go through...
Just make an airlock and use that when you enter/exit the base to keep the water contained. Or if signs or pressure plates still block water, you could just put some of those.

I'm so bad at roofs and it always takes so long but almost every good house has a stair roof. I love the ravine house and mountain house right after that. I'm definitely going to use those!!
The ravine one looks really neat, and kinda cute? Like it's huddled up in the little cave, not taking up much space, and it looks pretty. May make one of these. But then, the underwater one is a cool concept too...

Minecraft noobs are actually smarter than we give them credit for. They use an easily acquired resource(dirt) Instead of using resources that can be used to craft, like wood.

I ask all my friends that play minecraft these questions and challenge them to build it. Its an interesting challenge and can be a bit of an emotional experience for some people but the project itself can be quite rewarding.
So anyways here is the question and challenge for you Grian (and anyone else reading this who is interested)
1. Dig deep into your earliest memories of your life and try to remember... the very first house/apartment that you have ever lived in.
2. After building said "childhood home", change/improve the architectural design of it with your current skills.
3. When completing the project, how was the overall impact on you?
Ive tried to do it once and doing it and taking the time to do it was quite the experience for me, maybe it will be for you too.
My first house was VERY BIG dirt house
My first house was on a mountain and was made of everything I had in my pockets xD.. I was constantly making it bigger and bigger it was a mix of: Bricks, Dirt, Stone and wood. It also had no Roof cause I was building to high at the old building limit haha. I was like 11 years old or something.

I would like to see a house that is built to be expanded. Not just one that can be expanded, but one that is actualy made to be. I often have to ad new bits on to my houses when i need more room for storage, or slightly higher level stuff like brewing or enchanting. This always ends up looking extreemly messy. Please build me a solution
Personally I basically rework my entire (or a majority) of my house when I can, usually testing things out in creative until I'm satisfied with my "new build". By the time you've advanced far enough into the game when you enchant dia armor & tools and brew potions, you should easily be able to mine away your small starter hut with efficiency diamond tools and gather all your needed blocks by traversing the Overworld without worrying death at all because your armor us just that stacked.
But that's just what I do. If you really want to see a house made to be expanded then good luck finding a tutorial or something.
Dig a cave city. Best survival home. Need more room just dig more tunnels.
