I wonder if those houses are still considered as dacha a by Russian law ?
As I understood the federal laws are also changed this year (2019) concerning Dacha property , which regulate the time you can live in your Dacha and the size and dimensions of the buildings
The prices you mention in the video are somewhat comparable with the prices of vacation, weekend or recreational houses in the Netherlands ( where I live )

The authorities and the cronies are eager to impose their cut in various ways but you can dig in a liquid gas tank that lasts a month for gas, heat, electricity for a house and be effectively independent of the outside world.
I tried to say there is no average Russian as I see it. Many work remotely for the Western companies and receive above the average which is difficult to figure out for a few distinct groups.

But keep in mind that the real average salary in Russia, even in major cities - 200-300 dollars a month, except for Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg. Therefore, for 90% of Russians, such houses are not available, and not one Bank will ever give them any credit to buy such a house! In General, the channel is called "Different Russia", but the author either does not want to show this poor Russia with broken roads, destroyed infrastructure, dirt and shabby houses. Even her Fryazino in the Moscow region is a fairly prosperous in financial terms place. I live in Omsk (Western Siberia) and everything is much worse in terms of infrastructure, as well as in terms of the economy and salaries. This is a city with a population of 1.2 million people, but 30-40 thousand people leave it every year. So the author is very biased in describing the state of Russia! Sorry for my clumsy English, I write through an online translator!

Just found your channel! I'm with you on having a bit more land with my house! Personally I love the RanchStyle homes myself instead of two and three (not popular here in America!) story (floors/levels) homes. RanchStyle homes with full.-sized basements are my favorite and give you the impression of living in two homes! These "starter-type homes" are wired, plumbed ,have HVAC,carpeted, tiled, drywall, painted, appliances ,windows and doors, and have an attached one or two car garage, sodded yard with a couple of small starter trees.Back when I use to be employed here in Colorado (America) in the construction field (1990's-2010)the 'lower-end' of these 'starter- homes' listed around $180,000 and thats' with minimal choices of paint and flooring color and style choices . Prices climb from there, depending upon upgrades to carpeting, tile, countertop finishes, lighting fixtures etc....usually to $400,000 maybe $500,000 and in certain higher-priced real estate marketseven close to a $1,000,000 with average square footage of 1100 sq.feet-1500sq.feet
This is not what prices are nowadays though. Rentals are scarce and very expensive for very little space and in very rundown, dangerous neighborhoods.

I can easily see how these kinds of neighborhoods are popular with “mansion” homes and, still, a lot more buffer from neighbors than apartment dwellers have. In the US, the same is happening because land is so expensive. There is a new type of neighborhood where the houses are only a couple feet apart. They don’t share walls like townhouses but completely lack privacy. You can easily see what your neighbors are doing next door unless you keep your curtains closed.

I live in America and from watching these videos,we as people live the same, know matter what part of the world we live in. I would agree that those in America don't freeze like Russia,I live in Texas and it's stays very hot, the cost of living is ridiculous here, the average cost for rent here is 1,600.00 a month and that doesn't pay the bills or food. We are all born in different circumstances and I was born poor. From the size of the house on this video,a two story house built here is 350,000. To half a million dollars. It's ridiculous to live here,

It doesn't appear that these houses have any type of insulation. They go from the outside wall right to bricks on the inside. That is just the opposite of the US where our bricks are on the outside and our stucco walls are inside; but in between there is always layer of some type of insulation, usually fiberglass. I would think that insulation in new homes in Russia would be important because of the cold.

    Nice Neighborhood!
You referred to a 10x10 meter unit of measurement. It sounded something like 'sudko'. Anyway, the metric equivalent is the 'are'. The 'are' almost never comes up. People refer to the hectare (100 ares) all the time.
In the United States we refer to expensive homes on small lots as McMansions.
The choice of a two story home rather than a single story may be because it is easier to heat a two story home. Or maybe it's just a matter of personal taste or what people are willing to buy.

Very nice. About a third of the money required to purchase something similar in regional Queensland, Australia. I also noticed the quality... and that houses seems to be built strong I assume to hold up the added weight of the snow in winter ... whereas here in Central Queensland our houses are made strong by way of nailed down tight to ensure they don't break apart in a cyclone. It's funny when you think of the differences needed for each area.

The average American is living in similar conditions also and the cost now is over $1,000,000 dollars for some homes where people with higher incomes live. Most people who live in urban areas have homes where they have many neighbors and the homes are next to others and you have less than one half half acre to live on.

By America standards that is really cheap! But, if the buyer has to finish the inside of the house then you need to add on another 100,000 dollars on to it. But still that is cheap. My friends just sold their two story house in the suburbs and it was an older home needing a lot of repairs and sold it for $500,000. Terribly expensive huh? That is here in California. Love watching this. The houses are beautiful you showed us.

I like seeing how Russia has changed. I was stationed in Germany before during and after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Many people from the former USSR would come to work in Germany, so I had the benefit of knowing something of their lands.
It seems like you are having a big real-estate boom around the big cities (which of course leaves only older people in the villages kind of like the USA). I think you could put things in better perspective if you listed the wages for various professions and trades in these areas. Your new $100,00 houses there would cost easily $350,000 or more in the USA where I live. A family would need to make more than $100,000 per year to afford one (and not a lot of people here make that much). I think I read that the equivalent of $35,000 per year might be considered a good salary in St. Petersburg, so for an average Russian family your new $100,000 house might be very difficult to afford. Or not?

    • @DenEz_TV
      @DenEz_TV Pƙed 4 lety

Yes, it is very difficult. The average salary in Moscow is like $800-1000 a month. So, yearly it is only $12000. And you should be a Moscovite who has own flat in order not to pay for a rent flat as many provincial immigrants do.

I have traveled to Russia 10 times since 2001. I have been in many cities in western Russia, and as far east as Yekaterinburg. I have seen these new developments being built all over Russia, as well as the mega apartment complexes closer to the major cities. What I don't understand is, why the developers don't finish the insides of the homes and apartments? Maybe I can finish the plumbing and other interior designs competently, but maybe my neighbor cannot. In my opinion, if the plumbing or electricity is not all installed to the same standard, you are inviting problems. Near Moscow, $100,000 does not seem expensive, but can I assume the prices are cheaper in other regions, such as Sverdlovsk, Chuvashia, Tatarstan, etc? While traveling in Russia, I've always wondered about the older, 1-story homes I see everywhere in the countryside, many with tin roofs, etc.....and whether or not the heat inside is sufficient for Russian winter?

Budget apartments are often finished but it is not common for mid and higher priced because people believed to have different tastes and for that reason it is up to owners to hire designers. The developer might actually do it for you but it is nead t common in Russia.

If I'm understanding correctly 150 square meters is about 1,600 square feet. It looks to me that houses are bought "roughed in". The bones of the house are complete but new owners must put in appliances, walls, light fixtures, flooring, etc.. My family did that with our house. The downstairs was complete but the upstairs was not and we completed it as we had money and time to work on the upstairs. It appears to me that it makes little difference what houses cost or how much the average salary is as prices go up the more money people make. At least that is how it is here in USA. You get a $100. a month pay increase and the rent, electric, food, clothes - everything goes up and the pay increase disappears. The problem now in America is that prices are increasing faster than pay increases, so our money does not go as far causing inflation. Prices for homes in USA are increasing at a rate that my adult children will probably never own a home like their parents (me) own. My house is a typical middle income home. About 1,850 square feet - 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, family room, living room, kitchen and pantry/laundry room on 1 acre lot in nice neighborhood but not gated upscale community. I think it would probably value at about $150,000.. I live in low real estate cost area. My friend who lives in California has a similar house and she paid $400,000. for her house. My home is paid for but generally payments (including insurance and taxes) run about 10%, so a $150,000. house in the US in low real estate area would be about $1,500. a month. That is why young families are having such a hard time affording housing today in US. You can not spend 1/2 your income on housing and be able to pay all other expenses with the other half of your income. In general, banks in USA will only make housing loans for 25% of a persons income. ~Sherrie in South Carolina, USA

They are the equivalent in size of what I paid but want to do some work on it and have a much larger lot and one story only. Plenty of room for 2 with 3 bedrooms. Third is storage and a mini greenhouse for some fresh veggies year round. Two tomatoes in the winter at a store is the price of a pack of seeds and plenty to keep and give away. Fresh herbs and peppers. Even onions. May try more things inside. Growing season is short here.

I've always said it all depends on where one lives, as far as what you get for your money.
A house like this for instance in let's say in the U.S. in Florida, you would be talking 850,000 dollars at least! In the Mid West around 450,000. New York on Long Island? 1.8 million dollars.

Your prices are way off. The Russian houses shown were duplexes, or attached: two homes sharing a common wall. Also, a 100m2 to 200m2 house is about the same as a 1600ft2 to 2200ft2 house. New construction in the US also has finished interiors. The price of a similar sized home in Florida can be anywhere from $275,000 on up. It all depends on where you want to live. It's more expensive near the cities.
