    Thank you so much. Don't know anything about granite. I am planning to use granite for kitchen countertop. I really appreciate it.

    Highly recommend going to a supplier warehouse to actually look at the slabs...especially when making such an investment....you get much better pricing too...great video!!!

      Hey Darryl
      I'm not sure you will get better pricing, as this supply warehouses do not sell direct to consumer. They sell only to fabricators / installers so you would still have to pay retail rate. however you do get the stone and the color that you actually want and not something from a 6x6-in sample

      @@RemodelCalculator the place I went sells to individuals too..and can give good deals...I guess it depends on the fabricator...

      @@lukec.9819 where did you go and get an actual price? I was told that I'd have to find that out from my fabricator which made it seem shady not to know how much it costs only to believe whatever price the fabricator throws at me 😡

    i have a really big problem visiting a natural stone stone like that because those slabs are all beautiful. i’m remodeling a kitchen with gray walls and white cabinets, it’s the perfect color combo for any stone. any counter design with any color will work.
    how do you choose?

    • @RemodelCalculator
      @RemodelCalculator  Před 3 lety

      I had my wife pick the color... This way I'm not responsible :)

    Not true about not getting to see the slab with Home Depot. HD uses local businesses to source slabs and customers are encouraged to go to the fabricator to view and select the slabs for their projects. The fabricator will tag the slab for you.

    Home depot do allow you to go to the supplier to pick your stone

      Home Depot? I had an idiot there who didn't let me have clearance tags (price tags) for last off the shelf item that i bought. He ripped them up and put in a trash, but would not give them to me.
      So it all depends who u get as an associate.

    We went to see some granites and my mom picked one that some parts have "see through" (like you can see it by put your hand one side and see it on the other but not clearly) but I feel it is kind of defect or somethings. Do you think a piece that has "see through" are good? Thanks

      That sounds like quartzite. I install granite countertops everyday. And occasionally cut slabs on the waterjet
