Eckhart’s performance as Two-Face is very underrated largely bc Ledger was that great in this movie and that’s probably why it doesn’t really get talked about all these years later.
and he didn't get as much screentime as twoface as well
@@Obsidian8R exactly. A very fine performance but not enough of it
I think Oldman gives one of the best performances in it, made Gordon weary who'd seen a lot, but not shaken, tough.
Yeah, I mean Ledger knocked it out of the park but Eckhart absolutely nailed Twoface as well, that can't be denied.
Yeah, I think too much was crammed into Dark Knight. The whole Harvey Dent plot-line was underdeveloped. And really it wasn't needed. The Joker plotline was more than enough to carry the movie.
When Harvey drunk that shot, you can't imagine the pain it would feel of alcohol going down your exposed muscle. I'm pretty sure he's too angry to care.
If anything, it further fueled his hate
That or the damage was so extensive it killed the nerves.
@Alex Souster he was beyond that he didnt care either he lived or not, a man that has nothing to lose is a dangerous man
He drank THROUGH his okay side, look carefully
No, that's just bad writing.
What I love about this Two-Face is how utterly serious he is in every scene he’s in. Like an angry spirit of sorts coming back for retribution against all the people who have wronged him before. I can only imagine how tense his scenes were for the people who first saw it in theaters.
To be completely honest, as someone who watched it, visually he was scary but the performance wasn't imposing.
Not Eckhart's fault.
He was a sympathetic character, a good guy for most of the movie, and I *remembered* Two-Face from the Animated Series and Batman Forever.
I liked this Harvey Dent as a person more than other portrayals of Harvey Dent. So he was sad, I felt bad for him. Dead girlfriend stories are always going to get me.
More to the point, Batman was scarier than Two-Face and The Joker was scarier than 30 million possible villains, super or otherwise, throughout the entire Non-Gordon population of Gotham City.
Joker was so scary it's easy enough to not notice Batman was scary.
Joker was so scary Iron Man came out the same year and it wasn't a contest, Iron Man was a way worse movie even though Samuel Jackson sent his own kind of chills down the spine when he said "Avengers Initiative".
Heath Ledger's Joker performance was what inspired the shooting at the movie theater, not Two-Face and not Ra's Al Ghul.
Joker was ten times the terrorist of the Mandarin in either Iron Man 3 or over a decade later Shang Chi.
The Joker was the scariest thing in the world after 9/11.
I don't think they intended the movie to go beyond commentary.
But they portrayed the Joker too accurately and most likely this led to the Jan. 6 riot too.
Honestly, Two-Face was just makeup by comparison. Except apparently it was CGI.
Two-Face was a movie monster.
Joker was a monster.
RIP Heath Ledger I hope he forgives himself for taking the art too far.
Undeniably though, it's so controversial it must be true that he created art.
@@darthparallax5207 💀💀💀bruh, I can't even express my confusion

Yeah ! Why ?
Only yesterday did I recall this scene and realize that Harvey's short fuse plays perfectly into his two-faced nature. The way he shouts "SHUT UP" at 0:22 then immediately, calmly says "are you telling me.. you’re gonna protect the other traitor in Gordon's unit?", it's just so disturbing and off-putting how easily he explodes and recollects. It defies anything I've ever seen. It makes him feel unpredictable, and he demands attention in every scene with how volatile he is~ he can change the whole scene any second.
@Max Kelley Hmm, yeah. That's a great point and I do agree. o: I suppose Harvey was really just looking to point the finger at anyone. Even when the Joker manipulated him in the hospital, he didn't blame himself for giving in to the Joker. He acted like nothing about that event could've played out differently. :/
It's clear that he's operating off of emotional concepts like revenge more than he is on logic at that point. It's difficult to reason with someone like that, you know? He's already decided to hurt those who he sided with because they "failed him" after all..
It does reflect past variations. As though Two-Face and Harvey are two different people coexisting in the same mind.
Dude: "i thought you was dead!"
Two-Face: *"half."*

If ledger’s joker is 10/10
Then eckhart’s Harvey dent is 9.5/10
In my opinion, eckhart’s performance was just as amazing as Ledger’s joker, it’s just that since he doesn’t have as much screentime he tends to get overshadowed by ledger.
Then Christian bale as Batman 7/10, yeesh his batman voice will acts terrible. See the scene where he captures scarecrow. I always laugh at how he said: "I am not wearing hockey pads." Definitely both of them are better than him

Dark humor.
Zuckerberg is like a real world supervillain. It’s honestly weird how much he seems like a comic book character, at times. The most antisocial person being in charge of the leading social media network.
The placement and angle that Two-Face is filmed at tells a story: after he gets burned the camera’s always filming from his right or the unharmed side of his face, subtly saying he’s still Harvey and not Two-Face. But only after Joker talks to him does the the camera move to the center of his face right before the coin flip. Then the next time we see him after that aka this specific scene, the camera’s now filming him from the other side, indicating he’s embraced the darkness and gone full on Two-Face
