I’m an IR NP (certified as FNP) and I also LOVE IT!! Roxy literally hit everything we go through day to day! I fortunately have an amazing partner, she is a PA, and my life in IR is so much more easier with her! I have an ICU background, which was a huge advantage. I can’t run Fluoroscopy (California), but my techs and MDs are always there when I need them. I’m still struggling with reading images, but definitely better than my first few months. I was aiming towards being a Trauma NP, but so thankful I went the IR route! Thank you for this video!

I'm an IR NP...I have a year in and I pretty much love it! I was a new grad NP when I got hired. I was formerly an ICU nurse, and that helped a lot. I do wish NP school went over imaging more. Thank you for this video. It was nice seeing what IR NPs do in other states. I can't run fluoroscopy in OH, but the x-ray techs are awesome!

This may sound like a dumb question but I have only seen certain types of NP programs . I am very interested in IR or Cath Lab I worked in the OR I love both . Any recommendations for NP programs to get into to work in this field ? I appreciate any feedback. I'm so glad I found this video I did know about this type of NP . I only heard of one PA in my pediatric hospital that was allowed to work in the OR it was only ortho but still it was nice to see someone other than a doctor in the OR . I like these types of videos very interesting.

Great interview, I’m almost finishing my FNP, I’m working as critical care nurse and also cath lab, there is anything more Cath Lab related, IR is radiologist but more in general, I’m wondering if there anything more specific for NP in the cath lab 🤔

@@NurseLiz If everybody was actually healthy, then expensive surgical interventions, tertiary care facilities, and pharmaceuticals would decrease in utility and demand. This, in turn, would reduce revenue for highly-compensated specialist physicians, healthcare executives, and pharmaceutical corporations. At the end of the day, it all comes down to MONEY over people. Our current healthcare system generates MASSIVE profits for the elite class by keeping people sick. Until we refocus our national healthcare agenda on actually promoting health and preventing disease, primary care will never be adequately funded in the United States.

I did not watch the whole video, but did I hear laughter about how a bone marrow biopsy and aspiration does not hurt? I understand that patient experiences very, but if you’ve been doing them for any length of time at all, I am sure you have witnessed patients at the very least, wincing and moaning during the procedure, especially the aspiration just because some patient don’t experience it as negatively as some, there is quite a large majority where it is a horrific traumatic life experience changing event. I would never submit to another one without general anesthesia and I think it shows complete lack of empathy and compassion to not offer it to all patients.
