I will always have a soft spot for JCrew because they make classic styles accessible to the layperson. Compared to other mall brands, like Banana Republic, Old Navy, etc, which always have stylings and materials that are just off and do not wear well.
JCrew gives reasonably well made stuff at reasonable prices. I wish they would cut out the constant sales because I think it is devaluing their brand. Honest, fair pricing off the bat would do them well.

Edgy Albert is my favourite this week.

J crew is great here in the states. Perfect for staples like pants and tees. Yes, most of their clothing is import, but for the look the price is better than a lot of other casual mens wear brands. If I'm at the mall I will be stopping in to look at sales, or nicer seasonal items they may have. Or even for outfit inpiration, like what you're doing.

From the photo of the two Italian guys, so glad you mentioned the hair and the tan on the second guy!

Albert and triplepape_ shoes are tyrolean shoes. Most likely the Michael model from Paraboot.

Would love to see a Cillian Murphy specific vid (maybe when he rightfully wins/is robbed of the best actor oscar). Whether that be of his red carpet looks for this award season or a more general style profile - would love to hear your thoughts on his style… particularly as he’s proved himself one of the better dressed short kings. Love the vids as always!

Hello Luke, love the outfit you're wearing. About J. Crew, they rely heavily on their heritage brand image. It's true that during the 1990's and into the early 2000's J. Crew was the go-to place for casual cool staple pieces. Indeed some of their items still hold a cult following but most of the clothes are made in china now, and the quality does not justify the price. It's best to wait for the inevitable 40% - 60% off sales to purchase anything. Brendon Babenzien is the creative director for the Menswear and has done some nice things reminiscent of his Noah brand. The Men's line has a sub brand called Wallace & Barnes which is better quality than the main brand. This is my informed opinion as a former full time J. Crew manager in two different major American cities. As you are located in the U.K. I would recommend second hand markets to start acquiring pieces. As far as I know J. Crew will not ship out of the country. Cheers!

Totally agree with you on declining quality of J Crew. I’ve been wearing J Crew since high school in the late 80’s and early 90’s. The chinos were the best for my money…. even had real corozo buttons and could be had hemmed regular or cuffed. $35 on sale usually, which was steep at the time but they lasted and aged very well! Too bad my waist size is bigger now! I used to wear a 28”-30” but now I’m at 36”-38”. 😂
I thrift and specifically look for J Crew and Polo Ralph Lauren to round out my wardrobe. I especially love the Ludlow blazers. I wish they’d improve quality to match the price. I only buy on clearance, sale, or thrifted when it comes to these pieces. But yes, I agree with you.

Thanks Rob! That’s really helpful knowledge. Also interesting about Wallace & Barnes. I’d heard the name before but knew nothing about the brand

I remember when J Crew was an order by catalogue company. Used to love looking through all the preppy styles back in the 90s.

@@lulabelle82 The catalogues were great! I really wish I had kept mine or could find digitized versions! Those catalogues (as well as Bennetton’s catalogues!) always made me smile. I’d use them as style guides along with my GQ magazines. 😎

90% of my wardrobe is J. Crew. It just fits. 770 straight fit twill chinos with 1% stretch and size medium slim J. Crew chambray shirts are my wardrobe. I also wear Walmart 60/40 cotton poly sweatshirts. Again, they just fit. On the bottom, I wear Red Wing wabasha chukka by Rancourt, Alden unlined loafers or chukkas, or Sperry gold cup/Ralph Lauren/ Rancourt camp Mocs.
In summer, it’s Birkenstock Arizona, J crew 6” drawstring dock shorts size medium and Truspec Drirelease size large T shirt because it just fits.
5’ 11” 170lbs. J Crew and Banana republic solve 98% of my clothing needs

Some great options in there! J.Crew is definitely more on my radar after the latest lookbook

    Some interesting looks here.
A bit obvious but I am going to go for our Italian friends for the fit of the week. The blond gentleman in that particular photo bears a bit of a resemblance to a young David Soul but is infinitely cooler.

That photo of the 2 Italian geezers, surely the one on our left was 6 months and 15 lbs over that suit- it looked too tight and poorer for it, the super narrow ankles of his trousers also, inadvertently, highlighted the badly proportioned jacket. The other guy is looking amazing and that's just fit and sizing. However, I haven't seen this comment so i might be wrong (I'm not)
