On June 30th, 1908, a mysterious explosion shook the remote Siberian region of Tunguska. The blast flattened 80 million trees across 800 square miles. Every plant, every animal, every insect in the blast radius was vaporized. The shockwave was felt as far away as England.
It looked like a comet impact, yet, no crater was found and no debris was discovered. Scientists still can't explain what happened.
But... at that exact moment, on the other side of the world, Nikola Telsa was conducting his latest experiment: transmitting massive amounts of electricity through the atmosphere.
Tesla activated the generators in his lab and fired up Wardenclyffe Tower for one final, dramatic test: and sent millions of volts of electricity into the sky.

If I may, Heckle fish at first made me wonder how this channel would turn out , thinking it wasn't a serious "investigation channel" BUT Let me say Heckle fish adds the perfect amount of humor to keep it entertaining,and also excellent for asking the obvious questions we still want the answers too, while adding cross discussion and giving the host opportunities to give us information without being mundane or boring, the way its all put together keeps us (the audience) engaged.. there is a lost art to show buisness, and think you guys found it .. great channel and I hope it keeps growing

This is the first I heard of the possibility of Tesla being behind that explosion. Tesla was a very brilliant man, it’s too bad so many sought to silence him. I can only imagine how much our world would have changed with free unlimited energy.

What if Tunguska wasn't a Tesla experiment gone wrong, but an experiment gone right?
If you just built a death ray and need to test it out and see if it works, it would make sense to try it on one of the least populated regions on the planet.
It would be gone wrong for Tesla, though, because he was a massive pacifist. I think that's why he destroyed it.

It's such a great idea in this era of demonetization/shadowbans/outright censorship. The producer is constantly arguing with this crazy conspiracy character who is clearly insane and meant to be laughed at. You can't cancel someone for mentioning "dangerous" ideas in the context of a joke. Perfect angle to be able to sneak information into the discourse while washing your hands of the repercussions that shut down so many people for simply exploring alternative ways of thinking.

I love your content! It's weird that I click on one of your shows, not interested in the particular topic, but needing something to watch while on my 30 min lunch. Then to find out by the end of your show, I'm at the edge of my seat with interest. The part of the show with you arguing with Hecklefish was pretty funny. Good job on the editing on that! As a senior engineering tech in the laser optics field, you did a great job explaining in a nutshell and showing the damage laser weapons can do. Most people I talk to believe laser weapons create massive damage when actually its just a small cut or hole.

Every time I hear about Tesla and his work I get sad. The man was such a visionary. A person that only comes by once every few generations. He was decades ahead of his times. I could only imagine where science would be if he had the money and backing to do what he wanted to do and how he wanted to do it.

I visited Russia in 2008, Moscow was the first stop followed by St Petersburg etc. my friends wanted to find this super old Soviet era compound on the outskirts of Siberia so we went backpacking. While out there we ran into an old guy that asked if we wanted to see the site. To this day nothing really grows in that blast radius. I looked on the ground and didn’t see any trinitite so a nuke was out of the question. I’m not sure what happened there but it’s strange for sure. Even an air blast from a meteor would have had vegetation grow back by now. And like you said in the video, there’s zero evidence that would support the idea of it being a meteor. Idk how much I believe in this story but one things for sure, it’s eerie

I recall an article several years ago about a researcher who was looking for an impact crater from the Tunguska asteroid/comet. Apparently there are many dozens of lakes in that general area of Siberia. According to the article the lakes all have a similar shape and depth/bottom profile because they all form in much the same way. But this fellow found one lake that was quite different. It is shallow at one end and quite deep and narrow at the other, like maybe an asteroid fragment hit at a shallow angle and the crater filled with water. He also used sonar and found a very dense object at the deep end; about 2 meters diameter if memory serves. He was at the end of his trip and was working on more funding for another trip to get more data on the dense object. I will try and find it and post back here if I do.

Came across this in Robert Doherty's book Area 51 the truth.
Whenever I see a "shooting star" I'm always amazed at the sheer speed it traverses such a large portion of the sky. Look at airplanes for example and how slow they appear, yet the plane is actually going very fast. Imagine the speed needed to cross the entire sky that quick expecially from much further away. Absolutely incredible
this was an early, less controlled version of the tech that was perfected at haarp, tunguska was the entire van allen's belt being pulled down to the earth all at once

I love your take on this story. The Tunguska event has bounced around with Tesla's name in infamy for a long time. Your schtick with HeckleFish as the Sith Lord is priceless! Well done. That was an asteroid impact, it was an airbrush. It exploded above the tree line and did not impact the surface, leaving no crater.

Hi A.J. and Hecklefish! Love the show! Just thought I would let you know about another Tunguska (but much smaller) like explosion over Revelstoke B.C. Canada on the night of March 31,1965. Known as the Revelstoke Event. It caused a lot of people to panic because they thought it was WW3. It was seen by an airline pilot who was flying in the area. Thee was a huge bright flash and a sonic boom which shook houses. Just thought you might find that interesting. Cheers! Keep up the good work!

@@TheWhyFiles There was one video of the Russian meteor blowing up that showed it from a side view. Maybe it was added as CGI, I couldn't guess, but that video if you watched it closely just before the meteor blew up, which btw I think they said was very unusual the meteor blew up before hitting the ground since it got so close (didn't burn up in entry) - but any way right before it blows up you can see something comes in from behind it at a super fast speed, and then that thing disappears for a split second and then you see it come out in front of the meteor and take off while the meteor is blowing up. As mentioned maybe it was proven to be fake which is why it didn't generate more buzz, ... but from what I have heard the fact that the meteor blew up before hitting the ground saved huge amount of lives and damage. I always thought that was the most fascinating part of an incredible event to be able to witness.
if you find the video IMHO its worth separate video all to itself because it proves not only that there is an entity out there not from this world but also that they care about our plight ... unless they had their own agenda for blowing it up and saving people in Russia which is beyond my ability to fathom. (I know, not a big stretch) :)
