  • Did Tom Brady just have his Harrison Butker moment? Jason believes so. Brady used his speech for his New England Patriots Hall of Fame induction to deliver a viral, anti-woke message about football and life. Whitlock and T.J. Moe discuss the increasing bravery of white athletes speaking out against the culture and the environment that’s making it possible. Steve Kim joins “Fearless” to tackle Tom’s terrific address and Aaron Rodgers’ absence from “mandatory” camp with the Jets. Plus, Jay Skapinac stops by to analyze Luka Doncic’s disastrous NBA Finals performance. Is the Mavs star holding the team back from a championship?

    Brady is talking about how football contributes to work ethics and life’s challenges. Butker was speaking on a woman’s role based on a spiritual belief. This is not a strong comparison at all especially if it plays into the discussion of white athletes getting backlash for speaking on any topic.

    • @nomadman5288
      @nomadman5288 Před 10 dny +4

      I don't even get what the issue was with what Butker said. All he was saying was that a woman being in the traidtional mother role is something more valuable than anything they could ever do in a professional setting. That's true, it's not really a spiritual matter.

    Jason, we don't hear more athletes talking this way because we never needed to. This phenomenon is NEW. When we look back to Steve Sabol and NFL Films, we loved seeing the battles between teams and player profiles that were highlighting strength, determination, etc.
    Now, since Kapreneck kneeled, we have a small group of players, led by NFL Leadership that is totally woke, setting the narrative.
    Hope we can get back to men.

So, yes if another pandemic comes, millions will do everything they are told and question nothing. Sad but true. It was great seeing TJ again. Steve is the sports man. Jay is the basketball man. Jordan was obviously gifted with the potential to be able to soar as he eventually did.
      But let's not sell him short regarding how much work it took for him to become what he became. He's not Shaq or any other number of NBA "stars" who, if they were a few inches shorter, would have ended up working a series of "Joe Jobs" out of high school, or dead before they hit 30.

      We can stand up all we want. It will just result in being marginalized. And if that leads to a decline in this or that, they'll simply redefine the standard and we'll move forward from there. There is rarely an admission of, "We were wrong. Please, all of you come back."

    TJ, I have several close friends who have left Evangelicalism and joined the Catholic faith for one major reason: disciplined approach to worship (the litergy, sacraments, etc.).
    I can vouch for the fact that evangelical churches have moved to a "devotional/emotional" service style rather than doctrinal/disciplined worship.

    I have been watching football since the 80s and what I have noticed the most is the tackling is atrocious. I just watched a steelers game vs the oilers, its especially the tackling. The QB play is alot better though. Which is why the RB position has been devalued. Back then you could win with an average QB like Plunkett or Phil Simms, the steelers made the 84 AFC championship game with mark malone. which made the RB position more important which is what most teams did was run. Not now days. Its the tackling for sure that is watered down the most.

    • @rickjones1277
      @rickjones1277 Před 12 dny

      I only take umbrage with your claim that Jim Plunkett and Phil Sims as
      average. Both should be in the Hall of Fame. They were 2 tough hombre’s. Phil should have started that second suoerbowl
      And the grants would have won by 3 touchdowns. Jim went to the last place
      Patriots and took them to a playoff game while getting killed on every snap. I went to Raiders games in LA
      and never saw a more beautiful pass thrown since Roman Gabriel. Give was nearly blind in his left eye and therefore had to turn his body directly towards the defensive rush and take a hit to throw left. Just a remarkably tough smart man. We all know Phil is tough. Tuna was wrong to not start him when he was back from injury. Hey I agree with everything else you said. Thanks

    The people who have decided they won't be fooled again is not the issue here. The issue is that, if there is a decline in the efficacy of claiming oppression and victimization, there are just as many blacks looking for an excuse to loot a Nike store today as there were during George Floyd. We can cry all we want about this being a societal issue, but it simply wasn't white people causing all the problems during the summer of love.
    We have no reason to believe the police will be ready to intervene any more today than back then. The only time you will see them is if they show up to arrest people trying to put an end to the riots/looting BECAUSE the police won't do their job.

      Special today maybe, but that's only because modern day people are the weakest, laziest, sedentary people to ever live. What used to be the norm is now viewed as "special". It's like how the truth is rejected so widely today, and how those who speak it stand out. Go back a few hundred years and those are the only kind of people you'd find, but no longer. Modern day society is a disaster, and worse than that , it was all orchestrated. TV was the beginning of the end for that.

It is even a longer stretch to compare what Brady said to Butkner telling women to remain in the kitchens and bedrooms. Brady's speech if anything encourages women to be the best they can be at what ever professions, while Butkner tells women their job is at home.

      I’m a black man that works around mostly black people and a few whites. Mostly black supervisors as well. The blacks tend to be always looking for a reason why someone is not doing them right. They also tend to be led by women as well. They also have a lot of hate for any black man that doesn’t complain about the work and just gets it done. You know, the ones that typically get the promotion too. It’s just true today’s average black person is always searching for the boogeyman holding them back. Black men gotta get it together and take ownership and leadership in their lives and stop letting their women run sht into the ground.
