    String rattle and ultra low chugs go together like PB and J! Love that Joshua Travis-y type guitar tone a lot!

    sounds like when i had my 24.75" 6 string in drop f on 16-90 gauge strings. good times, good shit

      Seems like a nice idea for a new video, I was doing 14-74 for drop E on a standard scale, but 90 is interesting 🤔

      @@checkthedist to be specific it was an open minor tuning, f-c-f-g#-c-f from low to high. gets you some pretty cool shapes and rich voicings but makes it very hard to play anything written for a normal tuning, so i switched back

    How does this guitar feel and play? I kinda want to get one now just from how great it sounds! Also, for being that price too! That phenomenal! Awesome video man! Your videos are starting to pick my creativity back up again from the writers block I've been having this past year! 🤘🏻

      @@BiRDiEMusic this instrument is kinda weird cause its scale length, and I bet you'll not be happy with stock pickups if you wanna play heavy stuff, they are pretty noisy and quiet.

    • @checkthedist
      @checkthedist  Před 7 dny +1

      I think the key is to add some raw distortion signal without IR (just a little), it gives some clarity to sound

      Also try the PRS 277 baritone. I have one and I love it. I barely touch my 7 string anymore after getting the 277.

    • @checkthedist

      Bass VI feels a little weird if you compare it to a regular guitar, but I had a 30" scale 8 string back in the days, so the scale is not the problem. A big minus of that exact Harley Benton is its pickups, they are pretty quiet and super noisy, of course they weren't designed for heavy tones, but in comparison with other guitars with single pickups they are big off.
