Fantastic ABSOLUTELY Fantastic I've searched and searched for this piece of Nostalgia, why can't / don't we write songs like this any more, WONDERFUL piece of nostalgia
Love this piece, nobody can beat Carson Robinson’s version. I actually have the LP which includes parts 1 and 2 of “Spring, Spring, Beautiful Spring” among others.
lol my granny used to sing this song, she says they sang it during the Great Depression. Everybody in the dust bowl knew a verse from this... They had no radio back then, but they sang it just for fun!!! Thanks for posting this treasure, I feel connected with my mimi now!!
Somewhere in the 40s Robison lost his singing voice. This record, originally issued by MGM, helped his comeback. I've always loved this record, since I first heard it.
Carson Robison & His Pleasant Valley Boys also recorded some square dance tunes during this period. I found 3 online, namely: Turkey In The Straw, Irish Washerwoman, and Spanish Cavaliero. Great music!
