WarioWare D.I.Y. - Showcase #7

- It looks as though the showcases are the most popular videos I have concerning the microgames, even more so than the Design Challenges. I can offer up a reason why: It's because many of the microgames in these videos, you send to me, and many of you are hopig to see your microgame here on CZcams. On the other hand, if you have the game (either version), you can check immediately to see if the microgame you submitted is there or not, and if not, there's less of a desire to watch the video.
1. "Sonic Spring" from Beike: This microgame is fairly simple, but it stands out because this is the first Sonic-themed one I've seen. (Another will appear in Showcase #9.) However, there's a graphical glitch: Sonic just teleports after hitting the second spring. Is this a misinterpretation of the command, "Jump to"?
2. "MarioPaint 2" from Dog0Life: It seems you have to click on the color before the pen, or the microgame doesn't work.
3. "Hurdle Dash": This is based on the Pokéthlon from Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver. (I did not make this one.) Rattata sometimes won't respond to my clicks, as you can see here.
4. "Watchful 'I'" from the NinSoft Store: The goal here is to click on the object that changes in appearance slowly as the microgame goes by. Most of these are pretty small and minor, and it could potentially be a LOT of different things. This one is fun to watch.
5. "Computer" from Beike: I had to take a look at the inner workings of this microgame to see what in the world I was supposed to do. You're supposed to find the Internet Explorer logo and click on it twice. I had no idea it was a computer desktop until then.
6. "Pencil Pinch" from the NinSoft Store: This one is very similar to a microgame from Wario's set in WarioWare: Touched!, though there are three pencils here instead of one.
7. "Be the Mario" from Cameron: You can click on Mario from anywhere. He'll gravitate to the top of the flagpole. Is it me, or have I seem microgames almost exactly like this before, right down to Mario gravitating towards something? The Goomba obstacle at the bottom does set it apart though.
8. "Count 'Em Up" from the NinSoft Store: What you need to do here is count the number of push-ups they do and pick the one who did the most. For some reason, when the winner is rightfully declared, he'll do push-ups like crazy, meaning he was capable of way more. I've picked apart this microgame to see how they programmed in a counting mechanism, but I've yet to understand it.
9. "Sleeper Swat" from the NinSoft Store: Pretty simple here--this seems to be a staple of WarioWare. I'm glad it made it into this one. I wonder if sleeping monks-in-training is a common thing in Japan.
10. "Salute-tion" from Cameron: I take it that this was a submission for Design Challenge #6 (which is themed on the United States). I also take it there will be a lot of salute-related microgames. I didn't submit something for this one, though I had one planned.
11. "Metal Mayhem" from PK: This microgame could be two possible things: Cleaning up the rusty gears as you see here, or the claw machine (as youll see when I reach 33). They're pretty straightforward, though there's a graphical mistake in the claw machine. You'll spot it.
12. "Mario Land" from Dog0Life: You need to squish the enemies to let Mario through. There are sometimes Koopas, who require two hits. The stuff to click here are awfully small and thus not well-suited for the Wii. Mario also walks pretty quickly, so you have very little time to defeat the enemies.
13. "Memory Blobs" from the NinSoft Store: This can be pretty difficult, since there are six of them to remember. However, you can also recognize them from their colors, since the blobs have fixed shapes--they just change their locations between microgames.
14. "Eggplant Fog" from the NinSoft Store: This is my favorite NinSoft Store microgame right now. It's the happy 8-bit music and how the princess seems to be spewing out eggplants. It's so energetic!
15. "Mario Maze" from the NinSoft Store: You don't have enough time to test out each pipe. You need to work your way from the finish back to the start.
16. "Wing Man" from the NOA Treehouse: This works just like the ice hockey microgame back in Design Challenge #2. Are the Big Name Games still going on in Japan? The American ones seem to have stopped.
17. "Beam Me Out" from the NinSoft Store: This one is really clever. There's an interesting use of perspective here to make the game look 3-D.
18. "Zoo Sounds" from the NinSoft Store: But not so much for this one. I don't like microgames that are overly text-based, really. - Hry
0:24 I really loved this idea
Depressed Luigi really amazing tho
@Depressed Luigi. I tried to play warioware d.i.y for my nintendo ds emulator. But I gave me a black screen. What should I do
yeah but it's not good for a wii
Aww man, three out of four times it was that hurdle microgame that got you. I love that game in HeartGold though.
1:58 that one is my personal favorite. Not only is it nastolgic, but I actually have a copy of it!
i like the internet Explorer reference
the io gamer but do you like internet explorer itself?
1:25 wow, is the pushups minigame in warioware gold based on that?
It returned!
It is the pushups minigame
Eggplant Fog is called Aubergenie in the UK.
2:23 I Got That Microgame At The Ninsoft Store On My WarioWare DIY!
ChaseCat6 みむむ
ChaseCat6 ぬぬ
this is the Wario version of Mario paint
these are some cool games!
2:34: The music is from another game: Micro Golf
so is the icon
Count 'Em Up is in Gold.
I LIKE THESE SHOWCASE VIDS SO DO MORE OK?
I was planning to create a bunch of games but for some reason I stopped after a short while. Only really have two worth mentioning and I never really got to show them off.
i dont know if you noticed but on the hurdle dash the square arround the pokemon actually cuts through the hurdles
but i know how to fix it, what you do is on each pokemon add another art where it has the pokemon but no background (make it animate so you can tell the pokemon is in the air, maby even add shadow) then on each ai make it the following
i think next time you do this, you should get another player and try reconnecting your Wii Remote
Thank you! :D
Count 'em Up: Perhaps each athlete is already predetermined to do a certain number of pushups? It just does them all at somewhat random times, no actual counting needed. That's what I think at least.
That's definitely possible. I just forgot to look into it further and removed it from my game as I needed the room.
For "Hurdle Dash", are the times each Pokemon stays in the air different?
Oh! Thank you!
my favrit is push up comic the paint and mario ones
Dis I see luigi? On that paining micro game
3:12 That shouldn't be Speed Up. That should be Speed Down.
3:08 AHHHH
I asked about making the microgame (AI, actions, triggers). The boy can collect any eggplants to win (and there are many eggplants) , and I would like to know how.
For "Mario Maze", if you tap the wrong pipe, you lose anyways.
Is this for Wii or DS. I have hardly ever played Warioware except for the first Warioware Smooth Moves. I miss that game and am interested in getting this one. Possibly getting Smooth Moves again someday as well.
Main game for DS, WiiWare Game for wii
How does the princess toss infinite eggplants?
@Overhazard its ok, so dont you know?
if you don't i'll try and track him/her down and drop you a note if and when i find him/her, but im not too worried anyways
At the Sonic one: No, I didn´t have any AI left, so I had to do that.
At Hurdle Dash: It´s fairly hard to play, but it´s still fun imo.
At Computer: You use a Mac, am I right? This is a normal Windows screen, as I just drew the icons from my Windows Laptop.
u might not see this but couldnt you add another trigger/action to something? the sonic one
Look how old this is!
1:29 I cant stop laughing HAHHAHAHHAHAH
1:29
Looks like you can make your own boss levels in this game
Only through a hack that spread. The easiest way to make your own is to modify one from someone else. Me, I don't like to make them because you can't get 1-Ups through clearing them and because I prefer to keep my microgames simple.
Dammit
TOO. MANY. EGGPLANTS.
How does that work?
Haha! Ultra Good!
5:19 OH NOO!!
@Overhazard do you know the creators user name?
And I can't access Nintensoft Store for some reason, so I can't discover by myself.
That Rattata isn't in the top percentage.
I’m not good at making art dangit
Are..... are these your's?
Because if they are, you know alot
No, they are not. I've listed all of the creators of these microgame, as well as some thoughtrs on each of them, in the description.
@MrDaniiT I can send it to you if you have Showcase.
