- Children and Youth defenders are calling on the government to ensure new legislation to regulate the congestion in remand homes. They say that those aged between the ages of 16 and 17 years, who have not yet been convicted of serious crimes, should be sentenced to community service. The call came during a meeting between officials from the African Committee of Child Rights and the Parliamentary Forum on Children.
