    Matehuala is the number one overnight stop for Americans and Canadians driving down from or to Texas. Most spend the night at the Las Palmas Midway Inn which is also pet friendly and has a fantastic onsite restaurant.

    Las Servillanas is a great, truly great restaurant. I’ve probably stopped there 15-20 times. There are like 4-5 Las Servillanas in Matehuala.

    Hi Marc and Paulette... interesting video! I've never heard of this town. The views of the streetscapes resemble both Chihuahua City and Ciudad Obregon. That pizza looked amazing! The cabuches look interesting, too, I understand that they taste like artichokes... did you get to try those?

    I love this video! I will check out this town. I am looking to reallocate to a smaller city (with less than 100,000 people) that is not too touristic (so it's more affordable). I will put it on my list! It was fun seeing you with your Mexican friends 🙂

      Hi!!! The biznaga is forbidden but the cabuches are the flower that grows from the biznaga; that is not illegal and you can find it in a lot of restaurants

    • @abbagus1
      @abbagus1 Před rokem

      @@enricagalvan4331 yes, but as far as I know, it’s forbidden and worst cos you need the seeds of the flower for birds and rodents to be dispersed, I’m not a biologist but most seeds are in the flowers , aren’t they in this case ? in Guadalajara, my city, you can sadly still buy biznaga, we should all help to reduce our own carbon fingerprint

    • @TheTwoTravelersInMexico
      @TheTwoTravelersInMexico  Před rokem +1

      Interesting. I did some reading on this and discovered that while it's illegal to dig up a dig up a Biznaga and use it for something taking the flowers is not illegal in fact the extract from the flower is used in candy as well. Is it possible to harvest the seed from the flower and grow more Biznaga? We saw a lot of the flowers being sold in Matehuala, is it possible that some company grows them in controlled environments and harvests the seeds to grow more? Both of you have more insight into this then I do i'm sure. -Marc
