the happy ending is he wakes up and hes got his puppy there and everything's happy. I think the last bit is more like a bonus cliffhanger ending ala "there could be a sequel game".

interesting i did not know that, i just saw a theory on yt that the guy just overdosed and the intire trip he had was the game, the last part depicting his last thoughts as his brain tries to come up with a solution to keep him alive and the last thing he could think of was the happy careless times that a common person would get during their child hood, at the end the memory/imagination ends with the life of the dude
