As someone who is following your luxury lipstick videos with extreme interest, I think grouping them by formula is the most helpful. That way, it’s easier to see the comparisons of the between all the matte lipsticks, cream lipsticks, or super shiny lipsticks. In a perfect world, I always like lip swatches. I think you can tell a lot more about a formula when you see it on someone’s actual lips, but I know that’s a lot of work.
I do love videos grouped by color, but to me that’s a different kind of thing. That’s…let me zero in on a specific shade of a formula I already know I want to try. (Like how you did your LE reds, pinks, or nudes) For me, I’m looking to your luxury lipstick videos to determine what formulas are worth trying, not shades.
But however you decide to do it, I can’t wait to see it! (And I know you’re done buying them but in case you’re not, have you considered adding a Dries Van Noten lipstick? I have almost pulled the trigger on them about 10 times. The cases are so beautiful and the matte & satin formulas are supposed to be great.
I was on the Dries Van Noten website after seeing a limited shade selection on the Bergdorf Goodman website. I couldn't settle on a shade, and the price made me pause. Especially after purchasing so many recently. If I had stumbled on DVN at the beginning of my lipstick purchasing escapade, I probably would've picked one up. I'm sure I will eventually, but not right now.
I really like the idea of grouping them by finish too. My mind wants to know what the best formula is by finish, then I can start looking for shades I want. I'll probably do that, but I'll have to break it up into 2 videos for the mattes. I have so many!

Make up obsessions, I just bought my 3rd Hourglass phantom gloss balm and my first Hourglass lip liner. I’m an RN, I talk all day, I need some hydration and I’m in love! Books. Finished The Things awe Cannot Say, Good is you like WW2 fiction. Reading Boys in the Boat, I cannot put it down. It’s excellent. I had handbag Jan too! Picked up a Spartina tote, my 4th over many years. Always my favorite bag, I’m a southern girl and they are just everything! I also got a crossbody and wristlet front QVC in a brand called IHQWIP ( pronounced equip), my new weekend bag, love! And a new crochet tote with pockets and hook organizers, grommets for yarn, heaven! I’m waiting for vionic to drop sandals, ready for warmer weather!
I hate how much I love the Hourglass glossy balms. They're so $$$ but so good.
I like the Hourglass balms, but I don't love them enough to pick up another one right now. I finished the one in Slip this fall, and I was sad but I realized I was fine without it for the time being. I've been curious about the new lip liners.
Thanks for the book recommendations. I recently finished The Covenant of Water, and I loved it. I'm looking for a new book right now, so I check out the ones you mentioned. I love that you called it "Handbag Jan." I love that. I just googled the Spartina tote. So cute and I love how fun the patterns are. I occasionally swap my handbag, but I'm in the mode of living in one bag for a long time. I think I'll have this one jam packed for a long time before I swap it out for one of my other bags.
Ooh, your new crochet tote sounds wonderful. I have a Hinza Plastic Tote bag that I use as my crochet project "bucket." It's large enough to fit several WIPs as well as my crochet hook and notions organizer. When I'm going to crochet on the go (waiting in a doctor's office, or at one of my kids' sporting events) I grab my tote and take it along. It has everything in it, and it's so easy to take along.

I can’t believe January is already over!
I love Japanese sunscreens. I have converted everyone I know to them. They are amazing. I will put my sunscreen on if I’m doing my makeup for a night out at 7pm. It works that well with my makeup. My favorite is Sun Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel SPF 50 ++++.

Love the hot cocoa, and that cookie butter is unbelievably fabulous. They are yummy and make my lips feel so hydrated. ❤❤
They're still available for purchase on the Glossier website. I nearly purchased 4 more last night, but like I said in my video I don't need anymore right now. I'm dealing with FOMO right now and I'm forever adding to cart, and then abandoning my cart. I'm so glad you like the OG Balm Dotcom. It's my favorite lip balm, and the two they brought back for the holidays were some of my favorites. I just wish I could get the Mango and the Coconut in the OG formula too.

I got a large leather zipper tote. I could fit a newborn in it. I have toooooooo many bags but I love it so much. It even has a removable cross body strap. I love it. I bought 10 eyeliners in January! In fairness I wanted the Colour Pop Multi chrome bundle. So pretty. I also picked up 5 DOC eyeliners. I am on a eyeliner no buy! I would enjoy by matte, glossy, ect. Yes swatches please. Anyway you do it I am going to watch. I am loving laundry sheets. Yep. I got some free from Influenster for an honest review and I absolutely love them. ECOS is the brand. Wow. No measuring. No pouring. Just put the sheet in and wash. I would have never tried these without getting them gifted. The Sol De Janeiro Cheriosa Delicia mist and Body butter are amazing. The body butter is the thickest they have ever done. I have been watching the Gypsy Rose documentary series and The Martha Stewart documentary series. Have a wonderful week ❌️ ⭕️
Ooh, a new leather tote and 10 new eyeliners? It has been a good month for you! : ) I've been curious about the CP multichromes, but all of my CP liners dry out due to packaging issues. I love them when they're new, but after a while they dry out on me, and break easily. Maybe they've updated the formula or the packaging issues. I might pick one up if I see them at Ulta again.
I love the idea of laundry sheets. I've been using regular old liquid detergent. I did use some eco friendly powder detergent for several years, but I switched back because the price went up so much during the pandemic. I'll have to look into laundry sheets. I like the idea of less bulk. I've always hated how heavy and bulky the detergent container is. It doesn't help that I get mine at Costco, so it's huge!
Now you have me curious about the SDJ body butter. My local ulta just started carrying the brand, so I might go and see if they have the Cheriosa Delicia and not just the Bum Bum cream.

I love your videos and have always enjoyed your recommendations. Aa someone who is also obsessed with red lipsticks and lipsticks in general, what I find most useful is to see color comparisons. To know which ones are almost identical can save me a good amount of money. I've bought lipsticks from different high end or luxury brands that have different formulas only to find out the color is almost identical, and the slight nuance doesn't justify owning both or more😅💸

Same here we keep temp at 68 all day in the winter, I sit around with a blanket and my toasty shoes, plus my Sheltie has to have a fan blowing on him so he sits next to me so I get the fan as well. Now in the summer that’s a different story. What a beautiful birthday you had with your family, oh anything pasta, yes please.
I love being cozy, it's such a necessity for me! (especially when my husband keeps the thermostat at 68) I had a wonderful birthday dinner with my family. I LOVE pasta!

I’d love to see the lipsticks grouped by color. Most high end brands have signature reds and nudes, so a comparison of the different shades side by side would be helpful…. Nudes, peaches/pinks, browns, reds, berries etc. Or if you do them by brand, please include a couple comparison swatches of similar shades.

I appreciate your feedback on how to group the lipsticks. I'm thinking of doing them by formula, and also by color. Different videos, but it will serve different information. I like the idea of grouping them by formula for an "is it worth it" according to price, but I'm also obsessed with the idea of grouping them by color. I'll probably do both over a series of videos. Happy Belated Birthday! It was wonderful seeing what your beautiful family looks like since you often mention them and I loved your story about the Pez dispensers. What I've been loving: recently I bought a Lancome lipstick in Crushed Rose and was surprised by how much I love it! It has good staying power, is not drying and a good shade for me. No one talks about Lancome because it's not a "hip" brand these days, but you know who (Lisa Eldridge) is the artistic director, so it makes sense that it would be good. I loved the Prada lipstick you showed, but my goal in 2024 is to try more affordable brands since I am not willing to pay $70 for a lipstick.
No, don't spend these crazy prices for a lipstick. 🤯
I've always been a Lancome fan, and love knowing that Lisa is the artistic director. She does a great job. I miss when they had more makeup options. I feel like both Lancome and Estee Lauder don't have as many makeup items as they used to. In the early 2000 they used to carry so many different lipstick formulas and shades. When I was looking this fall, so many fewer options. 🥺
Happy birthday (again)!! Do you have a favorite tubing mascara that offers volume over length? My eyelashes are pretty long already and if I my mascara makes them longer they sometimes brush my glasses 😂 but volume I’m looking for!
Lucky! I'd love to have long lashes. I feel like the Cali Ray mascara is good for volumizing, but if you want something that's a bit more affordable try the Heimish Dailism Smudge Stop Mascara. It's a tubing formula that comes in a curling formula and a volumizing formula. I love the curling one, but I haven't tried the volumizing one yet. I have it, but I have too many mascaras open right now. It's a bit harder to get a hold of because it's a Korean mascara, but it's totally worth it. You can order it from YesStyle or Stylevanna, but it takes longer because they both ship from Asia. I think Blooming Koco also sells it, and they ship from the US. I've picked up the curling formula on OhLolly.com and they're here in the US but I don't know if they carry the volumizing one too. I've also picked up the Heimish mascara on iHerb. Just some suggestions.

Girl, you had me at Dooney & Bourke Red Florentine Satchel!!! Yaasssss!!!! I own more of these than I will admit, but it’s my favorite silhouette so that’s how I justify it. And their red Florentine is absolutely stunning! Not enough people talk about these, so thank you!
I have a few Dooney & Bourke bags, but my mom used to get a new D&B bag twice a year in the 90s and 2000s. I have wonderful memories of the brand. My mom got me a "diaper" bag when I had my first kid, and it was a D&B tote. I used it so much, I killed it, but it was so much chicer than what other moms were carrying at the time. The Florentine is such a great silhouette, and can carry anything! I also love how well constructed the D&B bags are. Thanks so much for watching today!
Hi there! Lip requests! I would love to see the luxuries by formula. Maybe YSL has the best matte, but Tom ford has the best cream, etc. then I would love a collection swatch series by color. You did that a little while back and I still reference it!!

I am going to look into both of those SPFs you mentioned 😊even though I do love what I’m using now 😂! I rotate between the La Rosche Pose 50, the Neutrogena Tinted SPF and the Elf whoa glow (new to me and a new fav). The Pez dispensers at the end was too cute lol
I wish the Elf Whoa Glow came with a higher SPF. Is it only 30? I know the Supergoop one is SPF 40, but I'm always looking for a SPF 50 for daily wear. I'm really enjoying the Biore one right now. Asian SPFs are so cosmetically elegant. I love them.

Hi! I just had a flashback from my childhood watching that Pez candy and got curious so I googled the brand, I have always thought they were Spanish (maybe because of the name - pez/fish) but these were creatwd in Austria haha. My daughter does not know yet these even exist 😂 I have been overenjoying sweet things lately, like always during this time of the year, my favourite is dark chocolate in every form😊
I picked up some dark chocolate last night when I was out with my oldest. She'd had a bad day, and I was trying to cheer her up. Chocolate always seems to work, as does some one on one time with her. I never thought about the pez dispenser potentially being Spanish, but now that you mention it, it makes perfect sense. The pez dispenser was such a fun part of childhood for me. I wish I had gotten one for my kids when they were smaller. They still love it, but I don't think it'll hold the same memories for them as it does for me.

Whenever I go back to Spain to visit my parents I buy "Huesitos", a biscuit with some nut cream and chocolate, this is the one that shouts childhood for me 🙂. Hope she is feeling better today

I used to love to stop at a little tiny shop that sold golosinas when I was in Spain during my college year abroad. I would stock up on gummy candies and Chupa Chups. I still get Chupa Chups when I can find them here; they're the best lollipop ever!
When I was a child, my parents would take me to Casa de Los Caramelos in Valencia, and I was so happy. I still have fond memories of Spanish candies and candy stores. They're different from US candies, but so delicious!
Oh I am also one who feels deep... high sensitive here. Chupa Chups I also had a lot when I was a kid. How are US candy different? I am curious😊

i bought the ethereal palette from make up by Mario, and was so desapointed, the glitters have so much fall outs, and for this price here in Canadian dollars, it is inacceptable for me to
I nearly picked up the Ethereal Eyes palette, but I decided to skip it. I have those colors all over my collection, and I heard mixed reviews. Some people love it, and some people don't. I'm sorry it doesn't work for you, especially at that price.

I'm still in love with my Clarins lip oil. It's such a great product. I'll probably lip swatch all of the lipsticks in the videos, but I'm glad I'm splitting it up into a series. There's a lot of lipsticks to swatch.
I really enjoyed my birthday gifts, and especially the fancy dinner out with my family. We had a blast! I hope the gardening goes well, it's still too cold to do more than pick up some fallen limbs or the occasional bit of dead foliage. Once late February hits, I'll start getting outside. I might even plant some peas or lettuce. I'd have to babysit them if we have more snow, or freezing temps. That's usually what keeps me from planting the cold weather food crops in my zone.

I love the Merit lipsticks so much, and I'm slowly trying all the NARS lip products that interest me. (fewer of the mattes, and more of the hydrating one) I only have 1 ND lipstick. It's wonderful, but it's the rouge stylo, so it's not the regular bullet formula. Thanks for letting me know your preference for how to proceed with my luxury lipstick series. I appreciate the feedback. I'm still not sure how I'm going to proceed, but I'm thinking about grouping things by formula.
