I enjoy your video's, I have stayed at the Hotel Attalos every time I have been in Athens. Good rooms, good staff and it's hard to beat the roof top bar for a view of the Acropolis.

It was in a great location compared to what we had originally booked and we had such an easy and convenient stay thanks to you!

I’m not considering cancelling our reservation at Hotel Metropolis in Plaka for one of these you’ve recommended. THANK YOU!
Thank you for all your recommendations and tips. It definitely helped our Athens trip. I recommend Koniama Acropolis Hotel, besides not having breakfast the rooms are gorgeous and it has a free rooftop. Bring your own drinks and enjoy the view to acropolis with a gas fire. The staff / owner is super friendly and your are at plaka in a few minutes by foot.
Hello! It's great to have found this video and your channel! In July I am going to visit Athens because we are going to take a cruise there. I had already reserved a hotel and thanks to your video I just canceled it because the last hotel is in the area that you do not recommend staying in. We just got back from staying in Athens 21. Amazing hotel, Dosent look anything from street but rooms great , the staff were the most amazing I’ve ever had in any hotel, couldn’t do enough for us
The roof terrace where you can take your own food and drink has amazing view of acropolis’s

Last month we had 3 superb days in Athens before a cruise, we stayed at Athens Centre Square Hotel, which is just north of Psyri, very impressed, a 2 star hotel trying to be a 3 star, great staff and breakfast included a Greek breakfast option, very safe area. PS I must recommend the Karamanlidika restuarant just round the corner €37 for 2 of us inc. drinks!
Yay! I’m already booked at Home & Poetry.
Our hotel of choice is the Evripedes Hotel on Evripidou Street, family owned and great view of Acropolis from the breakfast bar.

We stayed at the Electra Metropolis two weeks ago. Nice rooms, great location in the city. The roof top bar and restaurant views are very impressive. The food at the restaurant is a bit expensive but very good.

We stayed at Ciel Living Athens last year. It was a very nice small hotel, only 6 rooms. The rooms were very nice, very friendly staff. They have a rooftop bar, which is also open for the public. There's 1 additional floor between the bar and rooms so you don't hear any noise from the bar at night. You can have breakfast at the roof with a view of the Akropolis, but since there's so few rooms in the hotel, it's not crowded at all. It's just around the corner or the Pandrossou street with all the little souvenir shops and 5min walk from the ancient agora. We booked there again for this summer!

@@jasonoilar It's in Monasteraki right next to the Metropolis cathedral of Athens. We loved the location, very close to all the popular spots in Athens. We stayed there again for two nights last summer and it was just as good. However, we did hear quite some noise from the bar above this time and there was no one at the reception in the evening although they said it'd be open until midnight. But I still highly recommend it, the rooms and breakfast are incredible.

Dont know this hotel but I just googled it and I see it's ideally located in the center of Makrygianni :-)
Liked your video, just surprised you didn’t mention Koukaki neighborhood. I’ve stayed there and found it close to walk to the Acropolis and near the metro.
Koukaki is the district just South of Makrygianni and some people include Makrygianni in Koukaki, so maybe what you call Koukaki is actually Makrygianni ;-)
Koukaki is still pretty central indeed, BUT no Acropolis view from there coz Philopappou Hill is blocking the view !

Thank you for your video. In 2022 i booked 360 hotel through Expedia for my June 2023 visit. Two weeks ago, the hotel cancelled my reservation, no reason and no respond back to my messages. Needless to say i was devastated and had to scramble to get another hotel.
I stayed at the Acropolis Vision in the summer of 2021, it's almost at the end of this video. It's a family owned little (not tooo little btw) hotel with 4 or 5 stories I think. They are super professional. And super B location.

Yup its just next to the Acropolian Spirit Boutique Hotel that I mention in the video. Both are great.

Hi Jason ! I dont know 101 Adrianou but Ciel Living is a very decent place and has a great view. It's pretty similar to the 2 Electra hotels I mention in the video.

The view is a liiiittle bit better at A for Athens in my opinion. Apart from that, the 2 hotels are extremely similar and located just 1 block away from each other, so it's really the same thing ...
Sebastian, your videos have been extremely helpful in planning our upcoming Greece vacation. What are your thoughts about hotel metropolis in plaka? (Not the Electra metropolis). It’s a smaller budget hotel 6 minutes from the stairs.
I dont know the quality of the hotel but the location is good :-)
About the Polis grand hôtel ? They have the Blue sky rooftop. Anygood ?

Nice hotel but way too far from the center in my opinion.
You skipped out on the ACS (Athens Center Square), Right on the Agora near Omonia, and just up Athinas Street from the Attalos.
I’ll be there in may. And I can’t wait to join one of your night tour. But I checked , u didn’t have anything opening on Sunday April 30th. Did u?

Philippos is in Makrygianni and yes it's a nice place. Rooms are a little small but apart from that, great view.

Do you recommend staying at Koukaki? I was specifically looking at Acropolis Select Hotel which appears to have a good view of the Acropolis from the rooftop
Yes that's 1 block away from Makrygianni, so the view is still nice indeed. If you go deeper in Koukaki, you stop having the Acropolis view.
My hotel was listed as well! Glad I chose right lol. I have a question. I would like to purchase authentic Greece olive oil. What brand or where would the best place to get it from? I will also be in Santorini for a few days.
I'd just get it from a supermarket. All brands are great, there's no such thing as knock off olive oil in Greece :D
I always buy "Nefeli", but all the others are great too :-)

Coz not only does it have an amazing view at the Acropolis, but its also a very green area coz you're just next to Philopappou. Plus, it's in the Makrygianni / Koukaki area which is more quiet and local than Monastiraki and Syntagma. Hope this helps !

2-3 days for the must dos (archeological sites, museums, plaka) and 1 extra day for each day trip you wanna go on.

The Plaka hotel has a closer and better view than most of the hotels you showed.
I just booked four nights in Athens next May - at the Plaka Hotel. Naturally I was hoping to see it mentioned in this video as I was seduced by the advertising pictures! I take it you'd recommend the Plaka?

Plaka Hotel is a nice hotel yes, and not too expensive. It JUST didnt make the cut. Its located in Monastiraki btw, not in Plaka.

I know you said to use the metro rather than the bus, but I'll be landing at 11.30 and can't check in until 3.00 (time not an issue) so I'm wondering if you see more of the countryside from the bus. And presumably there aren't so many pickpockets on the bus!
