I saw this movie when it aired in 1988. I was 5 years old. Even at that age, this guy had me blushing. I didn't know until the end of the movie, that Elvis had died in real life. I was completely devastated for days. He really was my first love. I truly thought that one day I would marry him. I would listen to his music & play with my barbie dolls. I've been a fan since age 4.
I love this movie I met Elvis when I was 13 at the gates of Graceland. I shook his hand and you could feel his beautiful personality. I did not even ask for his autograph!!!!

Elvis also played other artists music once he was out of the Army and also a lot of music Elvis sang was specifically written for Elvis by other song writers. I don't think Elvis had to worry about writing the music, he just was there to sing it, as that was his gift, right to the end, and up until the end, he had an entire band to back him up. Elvis only had a couple of original songs (that he composed/sang/ and or played guitar on, from what I have found out. I love this movie and dale and Susan together they did amazing job. Love how innocent she is, she is really nervous about being alone with him. Is that his grandmother or someone that works fir him. When I saw this tv movie as a teenager I though it was so romantic, but watching as an older adult now, it definitely does not sit well. This would not fly these days. Even when this was filmed they did not cast an actress who was the age Priscilla was when she met Elvis, 14., as it would really point out the glaring predatorial reality of the situation, instead of the older teenage romantic fantasy.

I love this movie but I just got done reading the book Child Bride. And it is all about Priscilla. Her life growing up & then her relationship with Elvis. The lady that wrote the book investigated every single aspect of their life. and had tons of real people that were witnesses of their time together. Well Priscilla wasn’t honest about a lot of things. It’s sad to think she actually slept with Curry Grant a few times to meet Elvis! She also plotted to meet him & did her hair to look like Debra Paget his 1st real love! And then Curry told her how to act when she met him. It was all a big act. It worked though. Then at Elvis’s funeral she was in a room upstairs with someone and one of the Family members over heard her she said “They all think I’m crying underneath these big sunglasses when I’m really laughing!” I was so shocked! It turns out her parents did not care at all about her going with Elvis! They made her move with him. She really was in love with a foot ball player who looked like her real father. It was all for PR. The fairy tail prince & Princess type thing.

Elvis and Priscilla waited to have full sex until they were married. As far as the age difference goes Elvis is from the South . Back then a man being 10 years older the the woman was acceptable. Some women were even married at 14 years old. You were considered an old maid a can on the shelf other wise. Different times different generation . When I saw this tv movie as a teenager I though it was so romantic, but watching as an older adult now, it definitely does not sit well. This would not fly these days. Even when this was filmed they did not cast an actress who was the age Priscilla was when she met Elvis, 14., as it would really point out the glaring predatorial reality of the situation, instead of the older teenage romantic fantasy.
Elvis may still be alive today if he had never met her. He was contented in his love life until she came along in his life.

& don't forget that this is a movie it's a lot of parts that really happened that priscilla probably left out,,not on purpose though.

I love this movie but I just got done reading the book Child Bride. And it is all about Priscilla. Her life growing up & then her relationship with Elvis. The lady that wrote the book investigated every single aspect of their life. and had tons of real people that were witnesses of their time together. Well Priscilla wasn’t honest about a lot of things. It’s sad to think she actually slept with Curry Grant a few times to meet Elvis! She also plotted to meet him & did her hair to look like Debra Paget his 1st real love! And then Curry told her how to act when she met him. It was all a big act. It worked though. Then at Elvis’s funeral she was in a room upstairs with someone and one of the Family members over heard her she said “They all think I’m crying underneath these big sunglasses when I’m really laughing!” I was so shocked! It turns out her parents did not care at all about her going with Elvis! They made her move with him. She really was in love with a foot ball player who looked like her real father. It was all for PR. The fairy tail prince & Princess type thing.
I really wouldn’t trust that book as much as you did. It is very misogynistic as it tries to slut shame Priscilla when she is 14. It is just very vindictive and the author comes at it as if she personally betrayed them. 😂

Elvis and Priscilla waited to have full sex until they were married. As far as the age difference goes Elvis is from the South . Back then a man being 10 years older the the woman was acceptable. Some women were even married at 14 years old. You were considered an old maid a can on the shelf other wise. Different times different generation . I think that 24 year old man dating a 14 year old girl is to much of an age difference. But who am I to say it was their business not mine. They were happy they were in love .
I like this movie. The girl.woman who played Priscilla was a good choice,the man who played Elvis was good but there is only one Elvis.❤️
