I had been introduced to Alan Watts 2yrs ago. I was kind of forced to listen to his lectures nonstop until all 120 lectures were done. I was being brainwashed and told that What I believed was wrong...Truthfully, I didn’t really understand him...I think it was because the lectures were stuffed down my throat if you will...I have since cut off all contact with that ex boyfriend...I recently discovered these chill mixes with Alan Watts and I am actually understanding what he is talking about...I think it’s a combination of the chill music that just puts you in a zone and the fact that I actually WANT to listen to these...plus I’m over the ex so it doesn’t hurt or serve as a painful reminder that he tried to make me feel like I was losing my mind...Thank you so much for putting these together...💜

This is exactly how all lectures should be taught...
"Our basic nature is in no way different from that of a buddha. It’s like pure space, which, whether it is obscured by clouds or is a cloudless and clear sky, remains the same in its basic, essential nature. But if you pretend that your nature is already enlightened and don’t progress along the path of removing the obscurations, then your enlightened nature doesn’t become realized. Therefore, we must truly consider what is actual, what the facts are."( Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche ) . I understand that we all have the buddha nature but if don't remove the dust of our clinging to self and clear away the obscurations we are not going to actualize the realization. Thats why we need a teacher to show us the path to enlightenment . Thats why Alan Watts had Zen teachers, he was a student at one time too . I follow Drukama Teachings and work on clearing away the obscurations . I encourage every genuine seeker to check it out as well. Thanks for the video :) Blessings !

Every single one of these lecturers that I have heard contradicts themselves. I think it's because it's so hard to talk about and you can point at the truth in different ways by using different points in different contexts.

There are a few types of karma, inherited, generational,present and future. In my opinion it's carried over from soul to soul ,and life to life, for instance if you witness an act of abuse yet do not stand up for justice then you also have blood on your hands. Then there are levels of karma that are subconscious and crimes against nature and past life experiences add to that tally. The only way to realize them is to meditate and get really honest with your own divinity

"Tao" is the Wade-Giles transliteration from the Chinese, which used to be popular but is not as close to the way the language is pronounced as the current system actually used in China called pinyin. Wade-Giles is why we used to call the capital of China "Peking", and now we say something much closer to what Chinese say, "Beijing". In pinyin, the spelling is "dao", much like it sounds. Even so, since much of the work of translating these texts from Chinese into English was done when Wade-Giles was the standard, "tao" is still more common. The actual character is 道, which means "the way".
