Dollar Tree Expanding Soil

Dollar Tree items can be a great place to stat your garden if you are on a budget! Today I test out the expanding soil alternative from the Dollar Tree. At 42 cents a quart, it is a bargain, but is the soil worth it?

Make sure you rinse it well through a fine mesh colander to rinse any salts from the coco core. Some are high in Salt minerals

I don't know about planting in that and nothing else, but last year I had good luck adding to my regular (Kellogg Patio Plus) potting soil and would buy it again this year if I see it in our Southern CA stores. I did buy the last few packs at our 99 Cents store - twice the size for twice the price.

I had got some at the dollar store, But mine only goes to 2 quarts on the package. I guess they changed them.
