Emi sethura linga - M. Balamuralikrishna - Thathvam - Yemi sethura linga - Thatwalu

“Tattvam” or “Tattva” means, “Theory” or Concept. It also means, “Existence”, as in “Shiva-Tattwa” or “Vishnu-Tattwa” or “Jiva-Tattva”. “Tattvamasi” is found in upanishads is a combination of three words, namely, “Tat”, “Tvam” and “Asi”. “Tat” :- That; “Tvam” :- You; “Asi” :- Are. So, “Tattvamasi” means, “You are That”. Here, “That” refers to God. Since God exists in every one of us, it is said, “You are That” or “You are God”. Factually, however, we are not God, but only part of God as we unite finally with God.
Meaning :
A devotee is expressing his inability to offer purest things to Lord Shiva. Let's see those purest things...

Thought of offering Water from Holy Ganges, but the baby-frog (tadpole) says the water has the spittle of Fishes and Frogs.
Thought of offering Milk of a Healthy Cow (Go-Mata), but the Baby-Cow (Calf) says the milk has the spittle of calves.
Thought of offering Thummi Poovu (Common Leucas Flowers), but million bees resting on the tree branch says the flowers have the spittle of bees.

When I thought of bringing Ganga udakam (water) and doing Linga puja ( abhisheka) to you, the fish that lives in Ganga, said that the water is 'engili' meaning already touched (tainted) by the mouth (of the fish)
What shall I do Oh Linga?
When I thought of offering milk (paalu) from akshaya aavulu ( cows), the young calf said that the milk is already tainted (drunk by the calf)
What shall I do Oh Linga?
When I thought of bringing tummi puvvulu (flowers) and thought of doing puja to you, the bumble bee that flies from twig to twig said that the flowers are tainted (bee drinks the honey from them, that's why)
What ( Emi) shall I do (setura) Oh Linga?
Oh what shall I do Oh Linga?
Gist is that what is there is creation that is pure enough to be offered to you? Only our pure love or purity of or heart, untainted by any selfish motive is the best offering to the Lord who longs for our love.
These compositions are called Tatvaalu - meaning the core essence that should be kept in mind when worshipping God..
How compassionate the Lord must, how boundless is His compassion that he accepted water offered from the mouth by Kannappa, who in great deep devotion, didn't even think for a moment, whether such an act is proper or not.. That is, his mind was completely set on one and only one thing..i must offer water for my Lord likes water.. He was aware of nothing else.. he blessed the fallen woman even when she threw out of anger at not getting food, bilva leaves ..and they HAPPENED to fall on the Siva linga, even tho the woman wasn't thinking of the Lord..
