For special costume reload, they just used OG animation asset and re skin it.
The Remake was really awesome, but the OG Bolt Action Rifle reload animation will always be an ASMR to my ears
Springfield M1903A4
my text tone for a decade
True the OG Springfield1903 used the clip which is very satisfying to see, remake version he inserted it one by one tho
@@GenMusicOfficial28 although, realistically you can’t load a stripper clip with the scope attached. So as cool as the OG is, it’s a tad unrealistic.
@@quesoturtle739 true, i wish the remake Springfield had the both animations with and without the scope mounted, but then again. Both are great
Classic: *MOTIVATED*
Remake: *Calm*
I always loved the Reload animation for the first bolt action rifle from OG re4
The remake is more Realistic but, the original one is more awesome than the Remake. I'm agree with you.😁👍
@@hendrairawan4964 I love the og reload of the red9,it’s not realistic but I always loved the flick after the reload.
Stripper clip through a scope?
@@adrnacad3434 if customized yeah. Its done horizontally. It could work.
@@hendrairawan4964 yeah the original has more style but the new one is def more realistic
The OG rifle and broken butterfly animations are so crisp
Sound work too, its much more satisfying.
Don't forget Red9
I like how Leon now turns the crank on the Striker, That was something I never knew about it till 2 or so years ago.
He does it in the OG as well, but after he puts in the shells. Either way it's still not accurate to how you have to do it irl.
'til, not "till"
@@Chris-nn3vu don't be that guy
The costume reloads are sick
That's some mafia stuff afterall. 😂
The reload animations also change based on how the weapon is upgraded
Do they? I upgraded the red 9 and checked the reload throughout it, and it felt like they just sped up the middle part of the reload, nothing actually played out differently. not sure about others but doesn't seem like its a guaranteed thing.
The shotguns also don't change, would have been awesome if he actually started doing double/quad loads etc.
@@johntravoltage959 technically he is, he can reload up to 7 shells at a time I think, which is not very logical but for the sake of gameplay, very convenient.
@@lilmanpferfe7378 As I said, the animation for the shotguns doesn't change when you upgrade the reload speed, I meant I wish that we actually saw him start double loading etc. to make it a bit more sensible. I think its stupid that they increase the reload speed for those weapons by upping how many rounds are loaded at a time though regardless.
@@johntravoltage959 At least they made it feel a little like the original where Leon just gets 2 shells into the shotgun regardless of how many it can fit and just top it off.
But yes, I also wish they did that, and with the rifle also, if you could use a stripper clip instead of loading rounds one by one, though it’s good as a general reload since you wouldn’t be able to use a stripper clip if you put a scope on it.
@@lilmanpferfe7378 I mean, in the original the striker went up to 100 rounds and Leon fully reloads the thing in 2 shells so there's that. Also Leon reloads it correctly in the remake, needing to wind the cylinder back between each shell.
Broken Butterfly in the OG is incredible, it will be truly missed 😢
I can't believe they kept the trader line about how the gun isn't just about shooting but also reloading, and yet they made the reload so normal.
Wish it could have been free so it could have been similar to the original where the gun had a Heirloom Theory behind it!
czcams.com/video/bIQkRxadMwQ/video.html
@@johntravoltage959 As a gun guy I honestly prefer the new reload, it's way more realistic as snapping the gun back like that is REALLY bad for it, same goes with the Handcannon. Also if you were to take the "broken butterfly" and attempt that reload in real life you would literally just launch all the rounds you just loaded right back out of the cylinder.
@@ibrosyndicate then they must remove the "reloading" part from the game.. cuz it's just normal and boring..
@@ibrosyndicate The point is more so that it mentions it being very stylish even in game, and its just... normal. As for rounds flying out when he flicks it closed, that wouldn't necessarily happen, as the actual momentum he generates with the flick is more so towards the barrel, he'd need a lot more backwards momentum and a hard stop before it closes to launch them out.
If we were going to take the realism route theres much more glaring issues that you can take up with it such as the shotgun reloading.
Old reload animation was more stylish while the new one reloads more realistically
In the OG you were stuck reloading so you were more likely to see it, in the new one youre moving and running so its less likely, but even in that case these animations are really well done even if you would never pay attention to them because youre running away from a monster
Really? Those pistol reload animations are pretty bland compared to the remake's. The only ones that were more stylish imo were the Broken Butterfly and Handcannon.
@@k1ler4m that is a good point, after playing the remake I was wondering why the OG reloads felt more present.
@@vl3244 the red 9 and the bolt rifle are more stylish
@@onceyougozach2607 all he does is fling the empty click to the side, that’s not that big of a difference on the red 9. The bolt rifle though I agree looks better in the original along with the broken butterfly and hand cannon
It's insane how well the original holds up. It's 18 years old mind you and it came out at a time when reload animations for third person games were just a sound with a static gun model.
I know a 2005 game who can still be better that some remake and that res 4 still be that good
@j.d.714 I have, but Black is a first-person shooter, so I would say its a different category altogether. With that said, Black is indeed ahead of its time when it comes to graphics and animations relative to the hardware of the time.
Its not about realism, its about being satisfying
Exactly
Yeah true
What i love in remake is that Leon save some mags showing he's a trained soldier.
and after each reload, he pulls the shutter
It is interesting that they have him release the slide manually rather than with the button/lever
@@SolasLupum Maybe because it is more universal in all handguns instead of animating specific handgun releases based on the model idk
@Sierra Kilo then go and do an animation mod that accurately portraits all the reloads of every single handgun
@@SolasLupum In real life it would make more sense to just pull the pistol slide rather than press the release as its considered a fine motor skill, which is harder to do while under stress even for highly trained and experienced soldiers. So if the devs could only implement one reload animation, it would be more realistic for the devs to just have leon pull the slide instead as that is what anyone would realistically do in combat.
Brokenbutterfly reload "Look how they massacerd my boy"
It was my favorite.
I always loved how crispy and clicky the old animations sounded
RE4 OG: "I'm the STYLE!"
Not giving the Red9 the flick in its reload is a crime
you cant flick it in real life lol
was referring to the in game animation lol
Old Animations were faster and more stylish because of fhe fact you cant move while reloading, and the New one is a bit slower and more realistic due to the fact Leon can parry and even move while reloading. To make it balance, i think its fair.
Yeah thats right
Perfect comment.
Red9 and the Bolt Action in the OG were just *Chef's Kiss*
However, I do like the overall details they added to the reloads. It's more realistic and you most certainly feel the tension when you're forced to reload at the wrong time.
that's the same with the original
@@godzillazfriction Reloads feel slower in the remake and enemies are more aggressive this time around so that compounds that sluggish feeling. In the original it's easy to jump into the case and go from weapon to getting shots off where you can (being able to pause time and pull out a shotgun and clear everything in your path for example). The remake ups the tension by adding equip animations and slower more realistic reloads.
@@ibrosyndicate you have to stop to reload in the original where you can also fuck by reloading at the wrong time... this is what I meant
@@godzillazfriction I'd argue it's alot more punishing in the remake, especially in harder difficulties where enemies are extremely fast and aggressive.
In the original, most enemies were pretty slow to compensate for the tanky controls, so once you get the movement down, it's easy to avoid attacks and such.
The remake animation changes make more sense when you consider that Leon is usually running while reloading.
Ooh the wolves in the background in the original. Soothing ambience
RIP Broken Butterfly, you will be missed.
Do you still have the old game? Cant say it will be missed when you can just go back to it
I'm sure they'll continue to port the original until the end of time, so the OG Broken Butterfly will live on.
@@MegamanXfan21xx i sure hope so lol its worth it
The Silver Ghost is just so aesthetic. The USP inspired lines on the slide and comp at the end are *chef's kiss*.
The devs of the remake missed a trick from the original. There is a rhythm to the reload sounds, kind of like a countdown..3,2,1, that helps you better judge how quickly you can reload. Its kind of a subconscious thing but it does help.
Good ear!
buuuuuuh why capcom still doesn't have changed the empty reolad for the VP70/Matilda? this game need a boycott
No
For those people who just new to RE4 I still recomend them to play Original RE4 because they still had a lot of things that The remake doesn't have which that could be good experience
They should play the remake first if they played neither. In general a better experience with beautiful cinematics
i've been putting off playing RE for a long time, but seeing the RE4 remake finally pushed me to do it. idk which game to start though. i was thinking RE1-3 remakes, OG RE4, up to 8 then finally play RE4 remake. maybe play the spin-offs and the original 1-3 if i can
@@sham8614 yes, as me and some people or mybe even you who love OG ver of RE4, the remake its a really good remake for sure.
@@MARUSHI-YT glad to hear that, have fun mate.. Just a bit of review from me. RE4 remake its really a good remake of OG RE4, because they keep something important from OG ver To Remake ver, and for my perspective this is the first best remake game I got in my life
@@sham8614 They should play the original. Experience the actual game.
I will forever miss the Mine Thrower.
It's a fantastic defensive and area denial tool. I'd skip the exclusive because I used it for traps.
It's replaced by the bolt thrower. Not as handy in actual combat, but it makes bosses become small-time even in the 1st playthrough.
And tbh, I will miss its (along with RPL 412's) X Buster style.
It's nice to see games like Cold War and now Re4R using the winding key on the Striker.
It's Good How Capcom Still Keeps Mafia Leon And His Chicago Reload Freestyle, Even Their Added New Reload Freestyle For Handcannon
OG revolver reload is stylish af. And the size of those bullets lol .50caliber revovlers
He also has a few different animations if there are still bullets in the magazines of his pistol. Instead of discarding the mag, he'll just change it out for a full one and store the half spent ones.
When the Striker's reload speed is at max, I swear it perfectly synchs up with "We Will Rock You".
Og re4 had so much more style, that broken butterfly reload 👌
It hurts because the merchant purposely has a line about the broken butterfly being about reloading when you buy it, and then has a usual revolver reload animation instead of the classic one.
Couldn't be more OG than this. Don't know why they didn't keep most of the hand gun animations + this godlike sounding one. 0:50
I was kinda bummed with the broken butterfly reload animation but I get it that no revolver is gonna be that loose.
The handguns animations are much better now in the remake.
The OG Broken Butterfly with max upgrades is the most ASMR thing ever created
@@AlessandroMarques95 no they are not😂
@@AlessandroMarques95 cap
I'll never forget those sounds in OG
Old one looks so more badass.
As a kid in 2005 I would always turn the camera when the mag was empty.. and played scenarios in my head 😂😂
A great example of how I feel for these games and the styles they went with.
Had to keep rewinding that old broken butterfly reload animation
0:50 Man Broken Butterfly animation shouldn't have been changed. The merchant even acknowledges how awesome its reload animation was. They should have atleast let Leon snap it close like the original.
"This one isn't much about the shooting, it's about the reloading, you'll know what i'm talking about"
*proceeds to have the lamest reload animation in the entire game
The attention to detail in the BB in the remake is amazing. The way he uses his left thumb and index to rotate the cylinder while using hia right hand to load the bullets is some excellent gun porn.
Nice video
It itches me that he is not aiming right after loading
Og reloads: nice.
New reloads: ok pretty cool.
Seeing them back to back: my soul hurts.
The OG Re4 just sounds and looks more satisfying.
I know it's wrong, but the OG rifle reload is still super satisfying to watch. I don't remember seeing stripper clips used in a game before then.
I never swapped it out for the semi auto as a kid.
new animations so smooth + asmr...so nice to watch
You know what, this is the best of remake I've ever seen.
Its almost completely diffrent game just an art and concept is remake what do you mean the best
Gun sound is weak compare to the og and other game
but It's the best for you I understand
@@Dxndraper It is not. But even if it was, why the fuck would you want the same game again when it has been and still is avalaible literally on every popular home console ever released? (and PC) Not to mention the VR version we got just like 2 years ago.
Nah
I wish the remake's reload sounds were as crunchy as the original.
The remake doesn't feel as impactful without the exaggerated sound.
OG Red9 and Rifle are just perfect. 🙏🏻
just what I like to see
OG Broken Butterfly animation was GOATed, wish they would have kept it. So damn good.
The reload and sounds were just so crisp in the original, they’re still good in the remake but just don’t hit the same
Both reload animations are good, the old ones hold up really well. I am happy that RE4 Remake does not simply replace the original, both have their strength and weaknesses.
The og is impossible to replace because it’s just that good
@@neiloconnor7776 I don't know, there's much thing are better and can be replaced in OG as we saw on Remake.
@@yoelchristian6332 I agree that krauser luis and Ashley are for the most part better and of course graphics are better but I struggle to find much else
@@SkyRocket404 true that is pretty sick but it’s kinda needed in the remake or you wouldn’t stand a chance in the og it’s more about distance management
@@SkyRocket404 spot on having said that I that’s probably the main thing I wish was in the og
Gotta love the revolver reloads in og they are friggin awesome👍
Incredible
the remake also has different reloads depending on if the magazine is empty or not. Leon will save the magazine if there's bullets in it and dump empty ones.
I just realized from this video that in the REm4ke, Leon doesn't cock the shotgun when you load it, unless the gun was empty and didn't have a round in the chamber. That's so good.
While there's more details in the reloads for the remake, I really like the original reloads for the revolvers. More flare in them.
I love how the OG Handcannon also adds 4 bullets in the cylinder with it being just a 3 round Revolver at start.
The handcannon spin in the RE4 Remake ✨️💖
1:57 as someone who used to play cod a lot that reload is giving me flashbacks
I still prefer the OG red9 and broken butterfly reloads. It looks way much cooler and stylish...
i'm just into leon so much even watching him reload makes me crazy
Video proof that realism can actually detract from the experience
Not really it adds to the experience because nobody can reload that fast with certain guns especially with a horde of zombies hawking you down.
Broken Butterfly
Striker
SR M1903
Gorgeous
Apparently Leon's in no rush in the the remake.
He also can't reload a 7-shot shotgun with 2 shells like he could in the OG ;)
@@LaatiMafiaYou obviously haven't played the Remake because he can.
I love that if you don’t empty the pistol clip then he won’t flick out the empty magazine as seen in this video
You actually have 2 animations for each pistol if I remember, you also have the partial reload.
Yes but i only included empty reloads for this comparison video. I'll include them for another video.
It’s so sad how terrible the reloads are in the remake. I remember the sniper rifle having that big “ping click” and it was so satisfying. Now they dumb down the audio on the sound effects during the reload, the animations are shorter and the reloads are genuinely too fast nowadays, which makes the game easier. It’s definitely pretty to look at. It’s got a really nice coat of paint on it but it’s definitely half of what the original was. And don’t even get me started on the parry. That’s basically a “beat the game free” card.
its so sad how miserable you are the reloads are perfect
I feel like the old reload animations were the way they were because they had to be fast enough to make up for the fact that you were locked in place while performing them. RE4R lets you move and shoot/reload, so they made them more realistic. A nice touch in my opinion, but at the same time, I do prefer some of the older ones to the newer ones.
If you look closely, in the remake Leon puts the magazine in the pouch.
In the original, for some reason Leon doesn't even take the magazine out of the gun, but inserts a new one).
The guns and reloads from the original look and sound so crisp, powerful and responsive. The developers clearly knew you'd be spending a lot of time with them and took the time to make them feel just right. The attention to detail is what gave each gun its own character, rather than making them feel like indistinguishable weapons.
However, I do like that with certain weapons in the remake, e.g., the shotgun and revolver, you will individually load however many rounds the guns need in order to be fully loaded, but because of the hardware limitations of the original, it only shows you loading two rounds.
Modern Warfare 2019 did really influence the gaming genre to use tactical reloads (Killing Floor 2 has it but it didn't popularized it unlike MW19)
Thankfully checking out your weapon doesn’t cause a massive fucking earthquake in Leon like it would in Cold War or mw2019
yeah, they started to do this since RE VIIlage, (also make sense since Ethan also take on military training just like Leon did with Krauser)
Basically the only thing that MW2019 did that I'm thankful for. Despite how garbage the game was in the gameplay department, their animations were top notch.
@@zffrailgun1630 the only thing I hated in mw2019 was the shaky camera on even the smallest movements, and the dumb impossible challenges to earn weapons
nah...battlefield , John Wick , My Friend Pedro and many games + movies I could count did it before Modern Warfare...btw Remember Splinter Cell Conviction and Blacklist?
Sam even holds the pistol the same was as in MW
the og bolt action rifle is satisfying because of the clip, the remake is just fine too.
Re smooth ❤
og broken butterfly reload will always be fire
Now i love my realistic reloads but they should've kept the Broken Butterfly one it's so satisfying
Re 4 2005 give me alot memory now i see re 4 remake make me cry😢
1:09 Handcannon model popped back in place for the reload animation.
The thing about the remake one is he has to be able to reload while MOVING as opposed to the original which is entirely stationary
Then the OG reload animations would have worked better because their quicker.
@@Oh-Ben They're more complicated so they're harder to animate while moving
@@MidgarMerc that makes zero sense as exaggerated animations work better if that was the case. Nobody could realistically reload most these guns while moving so making realistic movements only because Leon is able to move while reloading doesn't make sense.
@@Oh-Ben Leon is a pro soldier he is able to reload while moving. And I'm not talking about logic I'm talking about the workload for the animators. It's already obvious they had to cut things to get the game out on time so it's pretty obvious they dialed down the fancy reloads to focus on other game elements.
@@MidgarMerc I'm not sure where the goalposts got moved to but the change in reload animations has nothing to do with the fact he can reload while moving. The OG animations are typically quicker and more simple meaning they'd actually be more fitting.
*Most* of the original/classic reload animations... coincidentally, it happens to be very similar to how I reload those weapons in VR.
Like, for Shotguns, IF the game supports it: I would load the first shell directly into the chamber. The rest of the shells would be the same as (OG/Classic) Leon.
Or for Red9, I've yet to play a "FPS" where you can flick the stripper clip off.
Old Leon: Gotta save Ashley!
New Leon: Look at these sweet guns.
how long would be a full reload on a Striker with lv 1 reload speed and maxed out magazine cap?
I miss them so much
They really cranked up the Realism on this one, very fitting on the new and gritty Leon.
realism != good
Miss the old red9 animation
1:08 that handcannon reload is a bit bugged
Darn having played too much RE4 VR on the Quest, I completely forgot the bolt action rifle was supposed to be reoladed from the top, not a box magazine that we see in more modern fire arms (RE4VR changed it to box magazine from under the gun)
Just some tidbits I've noticed as someone working with animations:
0:31 Position pop with Matilda at start of animation reload, Matilda is misaligned with Leon's at for a few frames at the end
0:38 I'm not a gun expert but Leon looks to be doing a partial reload with the TMP (saving the mag instead of chucking it) but then also racking it? Don't you only need to do that if it's completely empty?
1:09 Handcannon pops positions switching between idle and reload animation, and again switching back to idle
1:27 Leon loads the last shell in the drum but doesn't twist the knob even though the sound is heard
1:42 I'm sure this is just for the sake of gameplay but Leon able to hold 7 shells in one hand and load them all is amazing
1:52 Position pop with Sniper reload animation
2:24 Position pop with Chicago Typewriter reload animation
2:26 Bolt Handle on CT is not in the correct spot during reload even though Leon's hand will grab at the correct spot
thankfully the OG has way more problems so remake stays on top
The rifle animation in the OG was fucking amazing.
feel like the new reload have added realism, like the rilfe's no clip reload and the revolvers
i will still miss the badass reloads of the OG's
La animación y ruido de la Killer7 y de la brokenfly era hermosa, por que las destruyeron 😭😭😭
The LE 5 has a nice reload animation too
OG red9 reload is still my favorite
Re4 og made me want to pick up a gun n practice reloading like this
Pour one out for "no lite ting" on the Red 9 and the whole Broken Butterfly animation.
Woah the striker has a realistic reload
Og lean had speed loader for hand cannon and cartridge pack for rifle. This new guy have been made by the merchant.
The OG bolt action's reload is always the greatest, but the new bolt action's mechanic of single loads is a really cool addition, to the point where I didn't want to upgrade reload speed because I liked the pace it set for gameplay. Reminds me of how infection in Halo works where sometimes you're stuck loading one shell in and immediately firing it over and over because you're last man standing and have no breaks.
Bring back my dearest hunting rifle strip clip
