      xXPuNkRoCkRulesXx I know looking at this video again you're right! Normally I'm a lot more precise! :) But these Real Time Recipes are a bit challenging to talk, cook, monitor the three cameras, and try to make it in under 15 mins LOl! So apologies for my wastefulness! I was going too fast!

    I grew my own tomates my first summer here in Cali. Black Krims. They were deeelicious! Alas, the week they were beginning to ripen, my garden got visited by grasshoppers. There weren't that many but I quickly learned why they're considered a plague of biblical proportions. I covered the tomatoes with those clear containers that one buys berries and cucumbers in, but the grasshoppers ate everything in my garden that wasn't protected.
    Seeing all those gorgeous 'maters has convinced me to try again next Spring. It doesn't feel like Summer without having a bounty of tomatoes that are still warm from the Sun. 🌱🌞🍅🍅🍅😃

    • @EntertainingWithBeth
      @EntertainingWithBeth  Před 9 lety +1

      AeroDoe Oh no! I had no idea grasshoppers would do that! I see them in my garden too sometimes, ironically on the tomato plants, but they haven't started to dine on them yet :) Now I will be more conscious of the potential destruction yikes! :)

    • @EntertainingWithBeth
      @EntertainingWithBeth  Před 9 lety +1

      Tyka Fyka I know I miss the timer too! The timer unfortunately is beyond my skill level lol! It's a feature my editor knows how to do. This video I had to edit myself because I also had the Basil video going up this week as well on the garden channel which he edited. Unfortunately my channel isn't big enough to be able to afford to have all my videos edited my a professional (one day I hope!) so it's just "handy hands at home" until I can get there. But the time code reader in the YT player will also show the time as well. :) And yes one day I promise to do a kitchen tour! Looking to make a few improvements first and then will unveil the "new kitchen" for you guys.

    • @EntertainingWithBeth
      @EntertainingWithBeth  Před 9 lety +88

      David Moura Nurfarhana Ramlee I know sorry about that usually I'm a lot more precise! But I think the act of talking, and cooking while looking at 3 camera angles and an assistant counting down the time left to be sure I make it in less than 15 mins, had me cutting that melon too quickly and sloppy which as you can see lead to a lot of waste! I'm normally not that wasteful. I'll be more conscious of that next time :)

    • @EntertainingWithBeth

      Natalie P Sure garlic is great stored on your counter in a garlic pot. A garlic pot will keep your garlic fresh by preventing it from drying out. I thought this one was pretty cute :) www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00380E6U4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A3CX1JF2A8Y9QV onion bulbs though I would refrigerate in your crisper drawer :) Hope that helps!

    Is the prosciutto and melon together really good? It sounds like a very strange combination.

      Tyka Fyka Oh yes it's fantastic! A real classic because you have the sweetness of the melon and the saltiness of the prosicutto is so great! A must try for sure :)

      Oh! I'm sorry I didn't know that. I've just watched the eps! So your secret is adding cream of tartar? If so, I will try it next time! ;)

    • @EntertainingWithBeth
      @EntertainingWithBeth  Před 9 lety

      Miharu Ikenoue Oh yes! It's all about the cream of tartar this is what stabilizes the whites and prevents them from deflating :) It the acid in the tartar. Best of luck! Keep me posted :)

      I love your presentations,as i don't see it anywhere else keep it up.
      heres a recipe Sheer korma:a traditional sweet
      which we make on our festival Eid
      1/4th cup of each nut soaked in water and sliced real thin. but only almond's skin need to come off .
      Pistachios,almonds,Cashews.
      Buy some vermicelli from indian store tell them sivayyan or sevyan .
      then we need 6 cups of whole milk 1 sweetened condensed milk can 1 evaporated milk can.1 or 2 sticks of butter,cardamons 4 or 1 spoon of cardamon powder.
      cloves 4 or 1/4th tsp cloves ground.
      procedure.
      roast the thinly sliced and re chopped nuts in the heated pot with melted butter and cardamon+cloves.
      Now roast on very low flame till u smell the nuts getting just about roasted.
      Now add 1/4th packet vermicelli , and roast .
      Now turn off the stove and remove the ingredients from the pot immediately.
      now in the second step,
      add all the ingredients to the hot whole milk which is simmering in another large pot .
      the milk tends to bubble up once you add the two hot mixtures together so just keep enough room in the pot for it not to run off the pot rim.
      Another way is to mix it with a spatula which has holes to keep it from running out of the pot rim.
      now once after half hour when the nuts begin to soften add the condensed milk and evaporated milk and 1 cup sugar more or less as per your taste.
      just keep mixing till the sugar dissolves cup pitted date cut in halves..
      Now cook fro another hour or 2 on a low flame not even once you must cover the pot.
      oh my God it will turn into avery tasty sweet.
      I hope u will like this recipe its great for winter or when u have a cold.
      lots of appreciation
      Shahina Abbasi.
