- This is my first upload in the last few months. I decided to take a bit of a break from CZcams recently and found myself enjoying the hobby again a lot more. I have been focussing on what I enjoy from the hobby which is running trains and adding a few details to the layout. I have changed a few features such as the station canopy & signalbox so they are more in keeping with the other Western region features of the layout. I have also added an interior to the signalbox from a metcalfe kit. I have added a few other things over time since Christmas such as cats, station benches, milk churns and a factory scene behind the station. I have also added a couple of Peco station signs.
The majority of people I've engaged with on CZcams have been wonderfully friendly and supportive. I've welcomed some friendly advice and some constructive criticism. That being said I've also received a few comments that have been a bit unwelcome and it will impact on what I upload going forward. I have enjoyed this break from CZcams. The layout was built to help me unwind and help my mental health. It is far from perfect and if people are looking for an exhibition standard layout where everything is perfect this isn't going to be the channel for them. That's outlined in the channel Bio. I enjoy running what I like and watching my collection of locos run on the layout I built and I still consider myself an amateur in this hobby. I have nothing but respect for the skillset needed to build and run an exhibition standard layout and aspire to be a better modeller. That said I do think there are certain gate keepers, or rivet counters in this hobby that pick apart others efforts. I'm not sure if it's to make themselves feel better or to reinforce their views in the hobby. Personally all I think it does is put people off this hobby and put people off getting involved, trying things out and making mistakes along the way.
Lovely layout and a nice selection of locos and stock shown. The tracking shots of the Patriot were great! 😊
Thanks Ray. It's really kind of you to watch and comment. The patriot is a fairly new addition to the layout so I enjoyed filming it. I purchased it from the Warley show but I've only just got around to giving it a proper run out.
Hi ya..
Great running session. Brilliant looking layout. Especially like the coal yard.
Got two Warships myself not run them yet, re doing the layout at the moment.
Great variety of locos, about to put a new motor in my pannier, replace the XO4.
Thank you for sharing you're layout with us.
DELPH JUNCTION (Pete)
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I've only just started running this warship too. It was a second hand purchase from eBay. It Started off a bit juddery but it's turned into a good runner now 👍
Just caught up with this with my grandson. What an enjoyable video we've really enjoyed watching it. Your layout looks great. We've been looking back at your videos over the last few weeks. My grandson posted his latest video on his Dylington Model Railway channel yesterday. He get inspired by watching videos like yours, he spent a good hour and a half filming stop-motion animation for 25 seconds of footage for his latest. Great video again... Cheers James 🙂👍
Epic running on one of the prettiest and most wonderful layouts on the web! Truly stunning. I especially loved the red train and loco (don't know my classes very well, outside the most obvious... like 43s, 37s, 66s).
Thanks as ever for the kind comments ! It's a BR Class 42. Or known as a warship. It's a favourite class of loco for me. This model is quite an old tooling now from Bachmann. Still a nice runner though!
Great layout
Thank you !
A very nice layout indeed. I like your style of static shots with trains running through so we can study scenery details. Most videos tend to have panning shots which is too fast and makes you giddy😵💫. Well done🙂.
Thanks for the kind words. It's really appreciated that you took the time to watch and comment.
Very nice
Thank you !
Nice!
Thanks !
Very nice layout. Thank you so much for sharing it. Sorry to hear that people can be such a pain. Glad to hear that you are enjoying the railway more now.
Thanks John. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. It's really appreciated!
Excellent running session , great shots around the layout ..........Peter
Thanks Peter, glad you enjoyed it 👍
BR green etc period like me. Nice shots very relaxing to watch. DC or DCC?
Thanks Alan. The layout is DC. It's a few years old now. I'm planning a new layout which I hope to build in the next couple of years if everything goes to plan. That will be designed for DCC.
Nice one. Good luck with it@@amblefordjunctionmodelrailway
Dear Sir,
I wish me layout was as good (or large) as yours. Ignore unwelcome comments, as they are, i'm 99.9% sure, from people that doesn't even enjoy model trains or can build layouts, as they just enjoy trying to upset others (welcome to the internet...).
Cheers from Brazil!
Thanks so much for your kind comment. It's really appreciated. I think I just needed a rest from posting for a little while. Like you said it's the internet - unfortunately not everyone is as considerate as yourself.
Excellent. I love a warship
Thanks. Yeah I've always been a fan of the Diesel Hydraulics. This one's new to the layout (to me anyway) another second hand buy !
@amblefordjunctionmodelrailway I'm pleased you've uploaded a new video and hope more will follow. If for any reason a comment doesn't feel right be sure to ignore or agree with them with a smile on your face as you know best. It's your railway that offers pleasure to loads of viewers. Keep safe.
