This isn't failure video, actually. Just you need to understand the amount of caustic soda & water temperature as per the stickiness of utensils. At my place there is a Samai (ancient days it was used to enlight the home) of around 300 years & as it is so ancient hence it was so sticky & stingy though. Due to this, I took 2 full cups of caustic soda & very hot water of temperature 110 degrees. Rested the Samai for 2 hrs & it worked like miracle.

It's very kind of you. I am happy to suggest you my method as per my understanding. You can have 2 handful caustic soda (cautiously) & water can be of boiled one. Rest kadai in it for 1 hr. And, you should have to do 2-3 sessions to get the kadai in its original.
There is one more experiment you can follow after every caustic water session is that, take a huge utensil in that the kadai can fit & sink. Later that huge utensil place on gas by adding water, submerging the kadai & add 4-5 full spoons of detergent followed by 10 drops of dish washing soap. Boil it for about 10-15 minutes & then have a regular wash to kadai.
This process helps to loose the bonding of oil & dirt particles. Then again having caustic water wash helps to release the oil from kadai.

Sand paper is best for this job. I use 60 or 33 grit paper. It takes lot of effort your clothes get dirty so be careful.
After all the dirt goes off use higher grit( ie more delicate)sand paper 100, 150, 220, 320, 600, 1000( above 320 use wet/dry sand paper and sand with avbit of moisture wetting the paper) so that the scratches left by coarse paper get reduced and you have a smooth surface.
After you are done on inside coat with vegetable oil dipped paper and heat to high level for a couple of minutes the vessel becomes non stick.
Don't over heat oil. Don't ever reuse vessel without washing and through scrubbing.
If you keep this in mind these vessels will never get like shown above.

Hello friend. Caustic soda is dangerous to handle with bare hands because of the extreme pH it has. As opposite to the sulphuric acid which has a very low and very acidic pH, caustic soda is very alcaline. Making it dangerous to touch or to breathe by any sorts. Anyway. Since it dissolves in water, water reduces the alcalinity of the soda, so rinsing any utensil profusely after cleaning it with baking soda is enough to make it able to use again with any danger. The key is the pH, it dissolves everything like acid does but on the opposite extreme. I hope you understand how to use baking soda safely now after watching this good video! I wish it had english subtitles. Have a nice day!

Somewhat unsuccessful result , but good try. Above all, you were very honest about the fact that the caustic soda didn't really do the job as hoped. Also, kept repeating the hazards of using such powders without precautions.
In case of badly burnt kadai as shown here, it would be wiser not to use such things to clean in home kitchens. Better safe than sorry. One can always get a new pan . "jaan bachi tho laakhon paaye ". -- so said our elders. Best wishes and better luck next time.

Madam u can try with professional chimney cleaning persons, who comes to our house for cleaning chimney, they have this crystals/powder which they pour in hot water to clean the filters. This is an excellent solution to clean such kadai.
Once we asked for the name of the chemical but he did not say it but gave a little to clean the kadai which worked wonders. It does look like caustic soda only but later on they dip their hands to clean normally. So don't know about the chemical. U can try with that if possible.

Title in English but commentary in Indian. Again. If you leave it or raise the temperature the aluminum will get etched where it is free already and stay intact where still covered by the coal. The cleaned item will have patterns. It is more effective with sticky grease than burnt. Cleans so quickly that the pot stays shiny.

Use a scraper, it will all come off,
And don’t even start the process without gloves and always do it in a well ventilated area, preferably outside,
remember your skin is an organ and it absorbs everything it comes in contact with, harsh chemicals like caustic soda can cause long term damage to your health,
BTW, caustic soda is the main ingredient in oven cleaner, it works on stubborn baked on grease but you need to give it time to do it’s magic,
