This guy co-authored a book that inspired me to study and teach history.

Excellent speaker and excellent writer. Wish I had him as a prof in college.

I could listen to HW Brands give a talk about bread dough rising. Awesome points of angle in his approach

Strangely cut off before the talk was finished.

American are lucky having such great story teller and historian at the same time in H. W. Brands. I'm from Poland, so I have some perspective. Only his biography of Ronald Reagan is available in polish.

Jackson may not be my favorite president, but Brands is my favorite historian.
Edit: In a discussion of his most recent book, I heard him use the current war in Ukraine for an analogy. It seems he knows little about Russian history, and he certainly knows nothing of the causes of that war. It is surprising to hear a professional historian taking war propaganda at face value.

Wasn't this susposed to be about the American Revolution?

No, it’s supposed to be about Andrew Jackson.
