International Aisle in US grocery stores has both teas, that was sent to them.
@@marydavis5234 Typhoo, Yorkshire, Yorkshire gold, Tetley, PG tips. It's a good selection. The biggest box ranks on top. It's a shame they only got 2 months supply.
They can actually go to the international aisle of a grocery store and buy teas that are imported from England, China, Brazil, Colombia etc.
No tax required this time :)

The badge/pin you got is a reference to the One O'clock gun - an artillery gun that is fired from Edinburgh Castle, at 1pm every day apart from Sunday and some holidays. Lot of stories behind how it started and what it was used for, but it's mainly used as a way to sort out locals (who check their watches) from tourists (who look a bit startled)
Gray Fryers bobby is a wee Scotty dog who sat at its owners grave when he died and protected him. He is a staple in Scottish history

From the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle a cannon is fired each day at one o'clock. Tam the gun who used to be responsible for the firing had American tourists asking when the fired the one o'clock gun, his answer was " twelve fifty nine and sixty seconds"

Every day (well except for Sundays, Good Friday and Christmas Day lol) at 1pm precisely, a cannon is fired from Edinburgh Castle. This was so all the ships docked in the Firth of Forth could set their maritime clocks. Some local guy brought the idea back from Paris and has been happening since the late 1800's.
Yorkshire tea is the best. Make sure you pour boiling water on your tea bags and left to stew for a few minutes so that the flavour is fully experienced. I've heard in America people only pour warm water on their tea bags which won't get the best out of the tea.

Just SO's you know, if you make your regular fudge recipe, when you take it off the hob (stove), beat it, hard, for ten minutes. You need to put air in to it just like making meringue! I tell you this as, as a Scot I know you're gonna like it! Take care.

So the 1 O'clock Gun is a canon that is fired from Edinburgh Castle at 1pm to mark the exact time. It's fired every day, except on Sundays, Good Friday and Christmas Day. This dates back to 1861, when businessman John Hewat brought the idea to Edinburgh from Paris.

Whoever sent the Scottish box should have put a big piece of paper at the top with "Edinburgh is pronounced Ed-in-bruh". But his pronunciation was way better than some I've heard like Eeeed-in-borrow, Eeeed-in-berg.

I send 240 bag boxes of Yorkshire tea to my aunt in Texas every now and then - she's Scottish and only proper tea will do. She made tea for her work colleagues and they were buzzing off their tits as they've never had anything like it.

I'm deffo not biased cos I'm from Yorkshire, but Yorkshire tea is actually the best tea. Last year when I came to uni for my first year I got one of the massive boxes of it (120 bags I think) and me and my flatmates went through it rapid. In fact it's the same as that massive box of normal Yorkshire Tea they got.

The one o'clock gun is fired every day from the battlements of Edinburgh Castle, I grew up in Edinburgh but I always forgot about the gun and nearly jumped out my skin when it went off. There is a turreted building on Calton Hill, I think it was either a jail or an observation post to to prevent grave robbers, it has a big white ball on what looks like a flag pole and when the gun is fired the ball drops to the bottom of the pole and takes 24 hrs to rise to the top again.

The one o’clock gun is a tradition from Edin-burra Castle. It is a military gun that is fired at exactly 1 o’clock each day from the castle ramparts.
By the way your dancing around to the “bagpipes” is what you’d see on the streets of Edin-burra by the local drunks during Hogmanay.

I drink coffee more than tea and if I have tea my favourite is PG tips. I have it brewed in a cup for at least 5 minutes and then add milk but not too much because I like it strong & no sugar. Uk

Well it is at least worth one taste, then it can be forgotten, I am 1/2 Scottish went to Uni in Edinburgh and lived in Scotland 30 years so I know what I am talking about. There are so many more lush Scottish treats.

The one o'clock gun fires every single day at 1pm from the castle. Keeps accurate time in Edinburgh. Was lovely when I lived and worked there walking along Princes Street and suddenly you would hear the gun. Was always a lovely feeling.

I think those Yorkshire Tea bags (pronounced Yorksha) are two different types of tea, Original and Gold, so they'll taste different to each other.
A note on making tea. You use Scalding Hot, Boiling water to make tea. You then leave it to steep for a couple of minutes, depending on how strong you want it, then add a little fresh milk. Stir it and enjoy your 'Cuppa'.

Try making tea bread. Its like a tea bread..........erm fruity and ideal to take with tea. Its gots tons of dried fruit in and this is steeped in the tea of your choice. Chuck it all in a bowl and let it soak overnight to do its thing. Add egg flour stir bake. Loads of recipes for this on line.

Yay - Yorkshire Tea - the best. One tea bag per mug, half fill with boiling water, stir, leave to stand for a couple of minutes. Then re-boil the water and top up the mug. Stir again, remove tea bag and add milk to taste. No sugar needed. Heaven
