Ya know, that argument about "speaking in fursuit breaks the magic" has never made since to me. It is a thing at Disney because the cast members can't always do the Micky Voice or Goofy Voice or whatever... so it breaks the magic of it supposedly being that character if they speak. BUT most fursuits are themed after peoples Fursona or OC, and as such would actually sound like the person inside the suit, right? So how is that breaking the magic?
I guess in that particular case it depends on the character/fursona. Some people might imagine a particular voice for their character/fursona that they can't do, or perhaps their character/fursona doesn't speak at all and communicates in other ways (Telephone is a well known example).
There's also the issue of heads that don't have a moving jaw. It's a bit weird to see someone talking without their mouth moving. Fixed-jaw heads and heads with jaws that don't move very well might look a bit awkward when the wearer talks as a result.
Ultimately, though, it's up to the suiter to decide.
@@VestedUTuber Don't get me wrong, I never said that it's wrong not to talk. I love Mosfet and he never talks. But as you said it should be up to the suiter if the character talks or not. In fact that's kinda what I was getting at. Some people like to argue that talking in suite shouldn't be done period, because it "breaks the magic". But that's wrong. Because how the character acts and sounds is ultimately up to the person who made the character up. And if they do want to talk in suite they shouldn't get flack for it. Right?

Q&A: Where do you see the fandom in 6 years? (I’m going to college in 2026 and that is when I plan to get my first fursuit, and I still want furries to be a thing.)
I'm pretty sure it still going to be a thing and more the time pass people start to be respectful of us.
So I feel like the community will grow more and we are going to be seen more.

I think I may recall that a furry CZcamsr named Jfet has a special microphone that he wears when he is in fursuit. Have you come across something like that before on his videos?
I have a mic in mine! Shure wireless headset, works well, and the mini windscreen blocks most breath sounds.

@@hiroshiwolfsky1878 Mine was in the $250-$300 range, but I use it for live events(or, I used to, before, you know) and business as well, so it was an investment in addition to being a fun toy for my suit. The main cost of that is the wireless system though, and the mic itself (Shure PGA31, I think) can be found for under $50.

Thank you for the pointer especially with us furry youtubers that are also make videos in our suits. And TBH, I talk in suit and in my normal voice. So to those that scold other fursuiters for talking in suit, I’ll happily show you where to stick it up.

Definitely a helpful vid in my opinion!! I've definitely thought pretty hard before about how to best articulate in suit when I get one and this clears some stuff up for me!
I have a microphone that has a speaker connected, meaning when i speak into it, it comes out of the speaker, I’d recommend getting one as its handheld and you could always put it in your fursuit mouth as a cute accessory and speaker!!
Something to point out is that BeautyAndTheBass uses pre-recorded audio, which can really fit for certain characters, especially animatronics or robots.
Recently she's been using only a speaker and voice modifier for improv. I really love this style personally.

I don't speak in an indoor voice, whenever I get excited I get SUPER loud, so when I get my partial fursuit { saving up money }, Imma be just fine

I generally don't talk in suit, because I'm really not good with words. But I also have a really short muzzle on my cat fursuit so I can easily talk or whisper when I need to.

My boyfriend has a dog suit (with a resin head + moving naw), and He usually uses his bone prop to keep the mouth open! It gives better oputunity to speech, makes the airflow better + it looks super cute! 🐶

Thanks for the tips Stormi. My "Marcus" has a separate lower jaw that is attached to my chin and straps to hold it in place. When talking, the mouth opens enough to sound good on my videos but hearing is a bit muffled as you said. Hope your dental healing is going OK :-D

I've got a headset in mine! No speaker or amp yet, it's mainly for streaming. It's a Shure wireless headset with a micro windscreen, and I can run the fan at the same time without hearing it.

I'm a very quiet and mumbley person irl and I still get a lot of huhs and whats when in suit even after 3 years, but I've definitely gotten a lot better at being louder in suit, irl, not so much. I still get yelled at for mumbling and being quiet, but like, I don't wanna be louder...

Very useful video! Even a protogen fursuit head is very weird to wear even though it uses almost no foam at all.
The sound inside echoes more because of the visor and it blocks the sound going out. There's also so a lot electronics that block your voice... ;w;

It's a good thing my outdoor voice is my normal voice.
Once I save up enough to buy a custom suit i'll most likely get a moving jaw or a mouth that's slightly more like, smiley and open because i'm REALLY quiet lol
