  • Today we're going to talk a little bit about the best lawn care work wear like pants, shoes, headphones and so much more. I get this question time and time again, who's making the best work wear and clothing for lawn care pros. Well these are what have done it for me over the last few years and I wanted to give you guys an update on what we're using.
    The best pants for me so far (and I've tested a TON!) are the Duluth Firehose pants. They're not cheap but I will say they're one of the more durable items I've ever worn. For boots and shoes we're rocking the Kujo Yardwear gear. Their new boots have been great, however they do run a little small, so be sure to order a half size up. The shoes are pretty true size/fit, so if you wear a 10 for those, order a size 10. Lastly when it comes to headphones, we've been rocking the ISOtunes Pro's 2.0's, that way we can listen to music and podcasts all day without interruption.
    Hope you guys enjoyed this quick update video about some of the best gear that we use as lawn care professionals. If you guys want to support or order any of the items, I'll be sure to link them down below. Thanks for watching!

      I ran across the atg flex pants from wrangler last year - absolutely love them! super light weight, grass and water wicks off. Had to have them for mainly the trimming but do a lot of outdoor carpentry as well. Love the zip side pockets and for like 26 bucks cant beat them. There was no way I was going to pay 125 for kujos but did give them a shot glad I did but they are still over priced. What are you gonna do, they designed them well and don't dig grass out of the shoe. Shirts - anything dry fit, again wicks moisture, grass doesn't stick, always looks fresh, not wrinkled, always looks crisp. If your wearing anything cotton you need to step up your game, clients see you as the dirty, sweaty, stretched out creepy lawn guy -- just sayin

    Nice video man. I use Hanes & Gildan shirts, typically a 50/50 blend that wicks and is durable. Wrangler pants/jeans all the way and i wear the Timberland PRO Titan 6" boot with the anti-fatigue sole. I have had 3 pair and love them, even though they can get a little hot in the summer. I also wear the Condor Agitator or Kleenguard Nemesis safety glasses with the gray/smoke lenses. Keep grinding brother and stay safe out there, enjoyed the video!

    In NC, I’m wearing Free Soldier pants from Amazon. Waterproof and breathable, super comfortable, roomy enough but still cool looking. My wife just bought me 32 Degrees long sleeved wicking shirts from Costco and they rock. Probably similar to the Hanes. I need to get some more!! Use AirPod Pro’s which have noise cancellation and are pretty effective even with the blower on my back. Finally, just bought some Kujo shoes and hands-down the best purchase in a long time! I have gone through two pairs of Keens and they don’t come close. They’re really just built for a different purpose compared to the Kujo’s. Those are all I will buy moving forward at this point. Wrangler 'carpenter' Jean's come in tan or blue at Wallyworld for $20. I've abused the hell out of them and they last about 1.5-2 years, before the knees get holed-up. They look similar to what Brian has on. Same for the neon lime shirts. Cheap at wallyworld and good. I hate the look of 'fisherman' hats, but I prefer them over normal to cover the ears. Shoes that have a beefy toe (for kicking rocks or debris out of the way) and that keep dirt from getting down into the shoe and between the toes. Currently using some Keen brand.

    As we speak about the subject about the heat and weather why don't you have anything in your trailer to circulate the hot air out of the trailer especially using solar panel fans that would take the heat out of the trailer that would also help or another option also is to put a RV style air conditioner on the rooftop of your trailer that would run while your vehicle is in motion at certain temperatures and then when it's in park it would used only the solar exhaust .....
    I would definitely put multiple exhaust fans that are powered in a straight line depending on the size of the length of the trailer for every 8 ft I would put one exhaust fan because you are going by cubic space not by foot of the trailer to empty out the hot air.......

    Jerzees "Sport" polyester shirts and currently Tru-Spec tactical pants (gotta stay with the "BigSarge" theme! 😁). The shirts are lightweight and cool until they get drenched in sweat. If i catch a breeze, it feels good, but otherwise I just deal with it. The Tru-Specs don't last as long as I would expect, and I've found that the crotch tears rather easily. I think I'm gonna "bite the bullet" and give the 5.11's a shot.

    the company i work for is cool if we wanna work in flipflops and a bikini, and ya thats cool... but ya its not cool to get super sunburned or eaten by blood thirsty flies. i do flower grew so im pretty much attracting bugs to me by breathing in the same area. then im up and down. standing, kneeling, sitting. constantly pulling my pants up, readjusting my bra. i need tips! tips that are not pants or long sleeves. cuz i dont wanna be all hot the whole day. but i also dont want bug bites. sooo...... i guess ill check out other videos for that. i knnow boots/sneakers, and long pants and sleeves are the best for this work but i just dont wanna wear those.. its too heavy n too much heat.. even tho i live in new hampshire and its low temps compared to a lot of the country but its still hot for me in the summer time considering our winters go to like 20 below and our summers hit 90 plus , then 50% or more humidity around the lakes. anyways, thanks for your video. i think ill look to see what Duluth has, and try to remember sunglasses. thanks for your video

    Hey Brian! Awesome video. I just ordered some of the Hanes shirts last night so I'm looking forward to those. I would say the same you said with the boots. I got an 11 pair and they are about half a size too small...
    Just a quick question. How do you handle situations in which the grass grows like absolutely crazy because of the rain and then you end up having to double/triple cut the lawn and it takes so much longer? Do you charge extra?

      If you can get away with charging a fee, go for it. I’d have that convo with your customer first tho, don’t blind side them, just level and tell them it’s taking way more time to do the job.

    Duluth pants need to be the lighter by weight Duluth Flex for summer work.
    Pants for weed-wacking should be Carhartt RealTree camo. They never look stained. Although, some guys can't stand being completely covered, ie long socks, long sleeves, etc., it is important to keep tics off your body & shower 1st thing when you get home.
    I been buying Duluth for 20yrs & Carhartt for 30yrs.
    Shoes - I always wear high tops, 5" to 6" as it helps with ankle biters.

    I bought the ISOTunes Pro based on a previous video of yours. They sound great, however, the coating on them is coming off. I contacted ISOTunes and received the following.
    ===========
    "I apologize you are experiencing peeling on your headphones. Is it possible that you used any bug spray or sunscreen while wearing your headphones?

    We have found that when these types of products are applied and get on the headphones it can cause this peeling to occur if not quickly cleaned off with a damp cloth and water.
    We have informed our manufacturer of this concern and will be making updates to the coating for future versions.
    Unfortunately, when these product came out in the fall/winter time we didn't have too many people using them with sunscreen so we didn't start receiving this feedback until recently.
    "
    ==========
    I do use sunscreen when working outside so folks need to be aware of what might happen. It is just cosmetic but at the price point, I would not expect this. They did offer to replace them but it would only happen again to the new headphones. The good news is they were very responsive to my emails and readily admitted there was an issue. Excellent customer service in my opinion.
