Tannoy speakers are probably the best in the world, naturalness, so alive and fast, stunning..
They need a good amp to make them come alive. The Luxman 507 here is a wonderful amp.

Playing the same on my Vintage Cheviots with a Japan made Yamaha amplifier (though I would like to buy a vintahe Sansui). on the Tannoy the Energy level is set to (-1) to warm the treble a little bit and get a more natural output. Those Kensington are beautiful. I don't know if they are alnico magnets like my hpd 315. Greetings!!!

Always miss the upper mids with these Tannoy drivers. These look like 12” which is a tough xover to a tweeter but not as bad as the 15” coax drivers. I know bc I tried about 30 tweeters with a 12” Goodman’s. Eventually went to a 4way OB

I dont agree. I own a pair of Kensington GR (the newer version of these speakers) and i only use 845 single ended triode amps and they are in no way missing upper mids... in fact this is one of the most prominent frequency areas in playback i find, along with lower treble. Remember the tweeters are quite large in these and theres a degree of horn load so the lower treble and upper mids are quite forward. The bass is deep and smooth but abit loose in a good way though the very top treble is missing without supertweeters and it cant impersonate a good ribbon or amt. The main strengths are sublime imaging and endless musicality the way tannoys always are... the timeless design and style, ease of placement, easy load and fairly high sensitivity are huge bonuses. As an overall package they are amazing. Just add good supertweeters to make lifetime companions regardless of amplifier choice 🤗

Le ho avute in studio di registrazione negli anni 90 una coppia di tannoy enormi top di gamma piuttosto costose ciascuna con 2 altoparlanti identici a quelli ( forse più grandi) e mi hanno sempre fatto cacare .... A parte il posizionamento odiosamente critico le ho provate con decine di finali delle marche più disparate e un mixaggio decente non mi veniva fuori manco a sudare 7 camicie.

Provate altre tannoy più piccole negli anni successivissivi fino al 1999 e niente da fare.
Chi le usa sappia che da quelle cose lì non esce nulla di realistico.
Chi vuole realismo si affidi alle ADAM di fascia alta.

Интересно было бы рок послушать. Как они справятся с таким жанром. Спокойную музыку вокальную отыграют вся более мене хорошая акустика.
А вот сложную как Рок не многие отыграют. 60-70 % акустических систем завалят тест на Роке !
Согласен,впрочем как и в моём случае,техника дорогая,вроде бы и мощник хай энд,всё отыгрывает в лучшем виде ,а вот рок ни как даётся

Only problem with this video is we (the youtube viewer) never get to hear the quality of these speakers, we only hear the quality of the microphone thats being used to record the sound coming from the speakers, then that is down sampled by youtube for cost effective bit space (even more quality lost), then whatever speakers or headphones someone is using to listen to this video on in the fist place. pointless really..

The Audiophile Barista Agreed, I pre-demoed my ADC 303AX in youtube. Get an idea on how it sounded. Go to the seller's house and had the same impression on the in-person demo. I went home with those speakers.

lovely system and great potential, but this room is far too "live". Absolutely no acoustic treatment of any kind and not enough soft furnishing to make up for this. This room needs seriously dampened down.
