Bristell TDO with Beringer Alaskan Bushwheel Gear Landing System
The Beringer Alaskan landing gear system is designed for use on taildragger style aircraft like the Just Aircraft Highlander, Savage Aircraft, CubCrafters Carbon Cub, and is certified for use on a number of aircraft like the Piper Super Cubs.
Installed the Alaskan gear provides 12 inches of vertical travel which provides high energy absorption on landing.
The landing gear has been tested to over 3G's. It bolts directly onto the airframe at the original attachment points, so very little modification is needed to use it.
The lightweight, high-strength aluminum gear. This bolt-on system with no weight increase, and the G-Factor test has proven that the system imparts 3 time less structural impact on the airframe on landing.
In addition Beringer also introduced a new wheel and brake kit for Van’s RV-10, RV-14, Pitts S1 Special and Christen Eagle.
Additionally, the company is offering a new light sport aircraft bush tire made exclusively for Beringer by Bushwheels. The tire weighs 15 pounds and fits on a six-inch wheel.

How does this upgrade work? It looks so nice and like it would be so much fun! I though on LSA aircraft upgrades needed to be through the aircraft manufacturer since they cannot receive STC’s.
Would be nice if there was a certified variant of the Bristell that comes with an IO-320, increased payload, and a few extra pounds on the airframe for increased crosswind performance. Or even a 4 seater version to make a direct competitor to the Cirrus/Cessna/Piper trainers.
