I love how Kumail keeps going strong even when the story starts to lag it picks up again, he powers man. Most people appearing stop mid-sentence if the crowd isn't laughing which can make it awkward.
I was sleep tested in 2002. Have used the C-PAP for 20 years. Once you use it you realize what it’s like to feel rested. Without it you feel sleepy all day and napping does not help. Your body is waking you up out of a deep sleep over and over. Besides increasing your life span and making you feel rested after sleeping you are less likely to die in your sleep of suffocation.

I have been using a CPAP for almost 20 years. I am sure I would be dead by now without it. I am starting into old age and still love being alive. Dying 3 years early would NOT be okay. Living is better. ❤

I just had three root canals and crowns and it cost me $10,000! I brush my teeth and floss twice a day. I eat super healthy. The dentist claims I need to do the other side now. Since I’m not Bill Gates I’m going to have to go to Mexico to get my dental work done. The cost of dental work in the United States is absolutely ludicrous!
Yeah I finally found a dental place that accepts sooner care so I got 2 of my wisdom teeth taken out for free. Was looking for months

@@baronesselsavonfreytag-lor1134 that is not worth the risk if you have serious dental issues like needing root canals. NYU Dental put me through a year of hell. Messed up my bite, causes a bunch of other issues like TMJ and headaches… don’t go to dental schools for anything more than a small cavity and cleanings.

@@jennifermcgoldrick6323 I haven't tried it but a lot of people do it in my area because it's less expensive. A retired chemistry professor I knew recommended it to an elderly friend, they both had good experiences but went for fillings.

Kumail it wasn't a lentil . It was a stone. Lentils have to be sorted through before they are put to cook. The kitchen either skipped that process or one got away. It's a job that can only be done by human hand.
I was thinking the same thing... I always sort lentils on a flat plate and look at every one before I pour it into the pot.

Usually a soft food, like a lentil, gets blamed for a tooth breaking. In reality, they are just a little sticky and the tooth was fractured already from something hard ate in the past.
CPAP is a good thing. Sleep apnea is a serious health risk, Jimmy. You should try different mask or nasal pillow style. Untreated apnea can cause a lot of health issues such as hypertension, stroke, diabetes etc.
Jimmy is spreading misinformation and putting peoples lives in danger.

I have been using a CPAP for 5 years. I would most likely be dead by now if I didn't have that. I am 42.
Using CPAP for 20+years. Am 60+ years. Thank God for medical science finally getting it right! Good medical care should be available to everyone!! No more headaches! Sleep much better! Thank God! And the docs that finally got it right! Keep searching for help and answers to health issues and pain...please and 🙏 if you pray.

Jimmy shouldn‘t put the CPAP mask down; it saved my life and Kumail is right: We are LOVED by our partner not because we look great in sleep. They want us to continue living with them, not drop dead ‚thanks‘ to our sleep apnea.

15 times/hour ... that is nothing. When I was diagnosed I was having 190+ events per hour. The doctor literally said to me, "I am surprised you are still alive".
My dad was the same way. He spent more time choking than breathing. He would hold his breath for a minute or more. It was terrifying to watch a a kid. He didn’t wear his cpap and died at 57.

have cavities to fill". She also had bad experiences, though, after most of her teeth were lost or damaged in a car accident.

Man, when I had that tooth ache, also caused by lack of dentist visits, I could only last 2 weeks, the pain showed up rarely when eating, but once a week it was like someone was pinching a nerve in my mouth for over an hour late at night interrupting my sleep.

That dentist was actually a genius Get a dental hygenist that looks like a supermodel and has perfect teeth and use her to get people to be like "I want a smile like hers!"
I listened to Kumail on Conan’s podcast. He was so funny that I jumped to watch this one!
A lot of night time mouth breathers end up on cpap. I tried it but couldn't handle it, even with the pressure turned down as far as it would go, plus I ended up with an obstructed tear duct after only a few nights of using it which I still have over five years later. I also suffered from a chronic blocked up nose at night and would snore if I slept on my back despite being a nose breather.
Almost all these problems and a multitude of others resolved after going low carb (no starch, low sugar) / no dairy, no unhealthy oils, avoid gmo's / junk food and intermittent fasting which helped me lose a little weight. Cholesterol improved, nail fungus went away, blocked up nose / sinuses went away, night time tinnitus stopped, keratosis pilaris went away, linea alba went away, no more snoring when I sleep on my back, no more seasonal allergies, less brain fog, more energy, no more excessive bm's / diarrhea (1-2x daily instead of 3-5x).
The whole tooth thing happened to me. I had horrible pain and then one day it was gone. Next thing you know I’m eating lunch and my tooth breaks. Yeah, I went straight to the dentist after that straight up just left work and everything.
Horse girl. They can't vomit; about half of them die of a twisted or impacted intestine (colic). Edit: guest did a wonderful impression of an overindulging dog.
I broke my neck at 15, and don't keep my airway open when sleeping my oxygen level will drop to the low 80s. I've been on a CPAP since 1990.
It's not an uncooked lentil. It's someone didn't pick out the rocks first. A rock broke his tooth. Read the instructions on the bag - it says pick out the rocks.

Anti-dentite indeed! My childhood dentist was ex-military, and a monster. Ruined dentistry for a couple of generations of people around me. I don’t mind the work, but am very leery of the dentist.
Recently, without realizing it, a brash young dentist explained one part of the reason. I was unimpressed about getting two reminder calls within 24 hours for an appointment. He casually mentioned that was because some people didn’t keep their appointments. He was admitting they didn’t trust their patients. What a great way to approach a care-giver relationship!

I had to do a sleep study too,and the guy that puts the head gear on your head and face,used a gooey paper tape ,as opposed to the right tape,and i woke the next morning with sticky goo all over my face and hair,had severe acne and bumps everywhere on my once perfect skin,had to have a haircut and multiple showers to remove the goo. That was my experience and they even spoke with me about it a week later ,and did absolutely nothing.

I use a BiPAP, the bigger brother of a CPAP. If it wasn’t for the BiPAP, I would be dead by now… at 36. Before my BiPAP, I was having narcoleptic-like symptoms, was gaining weight (gained 200 lbs) due to severe daytime fatigue preventing me from doing any social events, physical activities, and concentrating for any extended period. BiPAP saved my living life (improved quality of life), and prevented me from losing my life from stroke, heart attack, heart disease, etc etc. I mean, my sleep test showed I had a blood oxygen level of 58%. That’s near death. And an AHI of 172.
I wish Jimmy Kimmel understood what a BiPAP/CPAP intervention really means for those who need it. His attitude is sheer ignorance, neglect of what would happen if he died and his family lost him due to CPAP non-use, and arrogance towards modern medicine.
