Is this brahman dhoti? I don't know the actual difference much, only that there is a difference in brahman's and Rajput dhoti wearing style. There are other styles too apart from these. Mostly because of kind of work one does/did.
This variety of dhoti being shown in the video is the Khastriya style of dhoti. this was a style used by kings and kingsmen in order the dhoti doesn't sag off or come out during war or other kingly duties. The Brahmins wear a different styles. For them you need to have a flowing part of creases on both sides of the body and tighten it using a kamarband or small dhoti around your waist
Easy! Comfortable! There is a lot tucked in around the waist but besides being cut in half at the waist it looks very cool! I guess you just strip naked for the WC then have to do the whole thing again is it?

william s That's the North Indian style. I think its Vrindavan style. He's using 8 yard dhoti. The style is different in South India. Search for 'Pancha Kachcham' if you're interested. You might need a bigger Dhoti for that. I'm 5'10, and a 9 yard dhoti works for me.
+rad max am I right in thinking Kshatriya is the warrior caste? Is this so free moving for that reason? I use dhotis to meditate in, the are far more practical and less revealing than sarongs (lunghi). Thank you for this explanation.
