    I think, frustratingly, as you boys effectively imply, there’ll be lots of finalists but outside the medals for Team GB

    James Guy swimming the 100 fly heats and semi in the same sessions as the 4x2 free heats and final (as a thank you to him for sacrificing at Tokyo) could actually backfire. Especially as he’s unlikely to medal in the 100 fly. Abbie Wood sacrificing this year, when GBP only have an outside chance of a bronze in the 4x2 free is really being a team player.

    Surely Kyle chalmers get a look in at the 100 free
    Short course world champ and swims for the big occasion. Popovici hasn’t beaten him yet I don’t believe

    hey guys, you gonna be previewing or just making any vids in genearal regarding the british swimmers racing at youth commies in a couple weeks? would be nice to hear your thoughts on some of the great youth swimmers we have.

    • @propulsionswimmingpodcast
      @propulsionswimmingpodcast  Pƙed 11 měsĂci +1

      Hey, we appreciate the question and hopefully we can provide some guidance on our stance for covering youth swimmers. As a rule of thumb, we tend to be extremely over cautious when speaking about under-18s just from a child protection point of view.
      With that in mind, without request from governing bodies (i.e. British Swimming) and parental consent, having an in-depth conversation or video about Youth Commonwealth Games (just like European Juniors) isn't something we would be doing but if we have the man-hours we can look at sharing results. For transparency, we did attempt to preview European Juniors from a coach's point of view with two of British Swimming staff but nothing came of our requests.
      We will hopefully look at getting a coach on to discuss LEN under-23's after racing has finished there.
      Hope this makes sense 🙏

    GB are a lot more likely to be on the podium on the 4x100free than the 4x100IM in the mens, reasoning:
    4x100 free
    No Dressel for US, inexperienced team.
    Aus don't have the depth.
    ITA do not look as strong as they did last year
    No Milak so no HUN.
    4x100IM
    USA and ITA are ahead of the game.
    AUS, CHN are slightly faster on paper.
    FRA with Tomac, Leon, Grousset and Flo are also faster.
    My bet is GB wins the 4x100 free with a 3:09.6 and they finish 5th in the 4x100IM with a 3:30.3

    Pretty terrible predictions....again....nearly no Australians or Chinese predicted and they are dominating the Golds so far.

      @propulsionswimmingpodcast  Pƙed 10 měsĂci

      At this point, as a pair out of 16 races we've got 7 golds right and 5 silvers and 4 bronzes, wouldn't call that terrible.
      Yes hindsight could have done better, but you've been harsh Garry. Very easy to sit there when you know the results and comment negatively.

      @@propulsionswimmingpodcast You present as experts- it is not unfair to critique your picks. Haughey for 200m Gold- really? She didnt medal. Smith for 100m BK Gold, when McKeown has every title and WR and the years best time? Blanking out China like they dont exist. Douglas to win the 100m? 7 out of 16 is not even a pass.

      @BISH9484 Pƙed 10 měsĂci

      Yeah the Douglass prediction was really a head scratcher for me. Her time was the 4th fastest of the year heading into this meet.
