The Origami Top Hat looks very similar to a Cowboy's Hat. It is a great origami project for kids, because it is very easy to do. Read more at wonderfulinnovations.com/origa...
Cory, I'm sorry that I can't just go back and change this video because it has already been made and submitted! But I will sure keep that in mind, for the future videos I will make! I will try to slow down! :-)
Dear Abigail, it is not really possible! since we are making these videos for people from all over the world, I don't want them to have problem understanding us or our accent. Before starting to make these videos, this issue was thought over and we "the WI team", decided it is better for us not to speak! :) I hope you are convinced!
This video wasn’t made that way. I wanted you to watch one step, pause, and make sure you did it right, and then play the video again, and go on. That works for everyone. Yet it’s not long and boring.
By half white, do you mean lower/upper half as white, or one side white and one side (at the back) another color?! I'm not sure if I quite get what your question is! Sorry! :P
***** Well hun, I just made one with a 2-sided-color paper - the colored side was facing me when I started off - and it ended up in the middle part of the hat, meaning that the lower part of the hat ended up to be the white part! ;)
Origami is Awesome!! I used 11" X 17" paper to make a small man's hat and it worked great and would likely work well for older kids. 13" X 19" would probably work well for man's large or a woman's hat to fit over some hair styles. If you have a printer that can handle those paper sizes, it would be easy to print appropriate party themes, flags, stars, names, whatever. I would first make a prototype, and then mark up the hat with a sharpie, then unfold the hat to determine how the "artwork" would need to get laid out. It's not rocket science but it is awfully clever. Use your imagination and enjoy the knowledge being offed by Wonderful Innovations. I'm wearing my hat as I write this, can you tell?
As long as the paper is square, it doesn't really matter what size paper you use dear! But if you really wanna know, the size I am using in this video is about 15 cm! :)
GREAT :) Why don't you send us a picture of it then?! ;) You can submit it to our website or post it on our FB page! It really makes us happy when we find ourselves helpful! Your comment and picture will surely encourages other people :) Thank you! :D
Very good, you know on Monday, everyone in our school is supposed to wear something on the top of their bodies (that is the head). Maybe not all of the students have been planning in advance what to wear, so this is just perfect! We´ll make some ( a lot!) of those, quite inexpensive and you can pick just the color you like. You actually don´t have to use a green paper, making a little green hat, like in this short, good, movie here on YT. Me myself, really don´t know, but maybe....I think I prefer a blue one! Let´s make a blue little hat on Monday. Thanks a lot!
sune dosa Wow that is very cool! I wish you could take pictures of all the hats together and share with us on our Facebook page! That is really awesome and I hope you have a lot of fun wearing them! :)

If you use half white paper which side starts "up"?
By half white, do you mean lower/upper half as white, or one side white and one side (at the back) another color?!
I'm not sure if I quite get what your question is! Sorry! :P
Like one whole side of the paper is white and the other full side was colored like scrapbook paper is.
***** Well hun, I just made one with a 2-sided-color paper - the colored side was facing me when I started off - and it ended up in the middle part of the hat, meaning that the lower part of the hat ended up to be the white part! ;)

Color side up or down?
If you start your primary folds as instructed in this video, color side should be up, but either way the hat will look nice! ;)
