the quality is pretty good .The plastic isn't made for pro Racing but good for beginners because it is flexible and strong but the upgrade on full aluminum is cheap
Hey guys, thanks for the comments... @theguywiththebadexperience - HSP cars have come a long way in the last 2 years. Not only has the quality of their cars gotten really good, but part availability is really good too. Yes we understand that a R3k car is not as fast or as tough as a R6k traxxas, but on the other hand it does cost R3k and parts are reasonably priced too. If you are looking for pro racing cars then stick to really expensive brands like Kyosho or HPI. If you are looking for an affordable alternative, HSP is not a bad buy...
Well, after a month of buying this HSP Drift RC from you guys.. and after a ESC & motor upgrade I can honestly say, the steering is awesome, drifting is a breeze now, very fun car for entry level drifters before upgrading to a drift kit for sure, will be my 1st fav drift RC and Thank you so much Melissa for all the help ^^, you were the bomb !!!
I'm going to be heading back to college soon and I'm considering starting a RC Drift club if it seems like people will be interested. I believe they offer a decent starting fund for clubs ($1500). With part of the funds I would probably invest into some rental/tester rc cars so that people don't have to buy a car before they know for sure they want to join the club or not. Would you say that these would offer a decent learning experience?
I had the hpi drift cars from back in the day...then went on to the sprint versions with the Dbox...years later its been tanks boats planes helicopters drones trucks and bikes...here we are back in the drifting scene
have that babe and love it... i came from 1/10 buggies to drifting and thought why not start with the cheap hsp and see if i like it... never changed the car again and its rougher than the most drifters but that just makes it more aggressive ;) ...if it ever crashes too hard and is unrepairable i would buy another one in a second!
@OBiE Vans SidiouS They both have pros and cons. Shaft: full torque, low maintenance - jerky throttle, heavier, noisy Belt: smooth throttle, lighter - debris and dirt can get caught in drive gears, belts gets stretched and worn over time.
yo rc King i want to Start drifting but i dont Know much about the v cars and everything. Could you give me some links to cars That doesnt cost that much and that are ready to drive?
Lock the rear diff if it has one and put drift tyres on. After that its a matter of adjusting the cars camber etc until it feels a little better. Our HSP drift car does not have any locked diffs and work great.
Hi. :-) Please check the manual for your version of your speed controller. If the ESC has LIPO support and most importantly LIPO Voltage Cutoff protection, then yes. Alternatively an upgrade to brushless will include an ESC that definitely supports LIPO.
A custom diff gear would change the ratio, but we imagine would also make the car spin out continuously. Drifting takes some practice, but with a car like the HSP designed for it... its pretty easy from the get go. NO guess work. Setup to drift out the box. You will end up tweaking the setup bit by bit as you get more and more proficient. :-)
+FRESHx913x From my google research, seems that the exceed drift star is more expensive according to one site I visited and it's not in South Africa. But looks like an awesome drift car. :)
+RC King I found the hsp for $200 and the drift star was $179 for brushless and $130 for brushed. How much was yours and where did you pick it up from?
+FRESHx913x We purchase from a local supplier in South Africa. However, we only sell to customers within South Africa. Not sure about international sellers. Maybe try Alibaba.com.
Nayfen Retcar no the car just didnt want to stear annymore the motor was doing fine cause it was going forward really fast but just the stearing didnt work ichecked if maybe there was annytjing between the weels or if the bolts were tightend to tight but everything was fine
Hsp is a very underrated company in my opinion they are great cars not a lot of people know about them
No way bro, cheap as hell and very bad quality
the quality is pretty good .The plastic isn't made for pro Racing but good for beginners because it is flexible and strong but the upgrade on full aluminum is cheap

@OBiE Vans SidiouS They both have pros and cons.
Shaft: full torque, low maintenance - jerky throttle, heavier, noisy
Belt: smooth throttle, lighter - debris and dirt can get caught in drive gears, belts gets stretched and worn over time.

Lock the rear diff if it has one and put drift tyres on. After that its a matter of adjusting the cars camber etc until it feels a little better. Our HSP drift car does not have any locked diffs and work great.

Hi. :-)
Please check the manual for your version of your speed controller. If the ESC has LIPO support and most importantly LIPO Voltage Cutoff protection, then yes. Alternatively an upgrade to brushless will include an ESC that definitely supports LIPO.
Yes i have one it will run on 4s
Yo i got the same chassis
rear wheel drive spin faster or not?
No. Gear ratio on the diff front and back are the same. :-)
RC King is there a way to make the rear wheel spin faster? Oh and also hows the drifting? Easy or hard to do?
A custom diff gear would change the ratio, but we imagine would also make the car spin out continuously. Drifting takes some practice, but with a car like the HSP designed for it... its pretty easy from the get go. NO guess work. Setup to drift out the box.
