    Quality electro! Seems an ideal single box for it. Ya got the whole Roland family inside.What kind of features do you wish it had for a more seamless live performance. A transition looper? I use Octatrack with various other gear and like the ability to move in and out of tunes seamlessly thanks to its looping capabilities, but the appeal of a single box like the MC-707 is real!

    • @GeyloFollen
      @GeyloFollen  Před 3 lety +4

      Hi Adam, the hardest thing I have to deal with in the 707 model is polyphony and voice stealing when switching between tracks. If you are trying to mix two tracks with a lot of voices in them voicestealing is a nightmare. The workaround Im thinking of is to sample my pads to save voices. Other than that the sound and potential of the synth engine is very good also the effects are great. Writing songs with it is very fast.

    I've made my tracks in track mode. Now I'm trying to switch them to clip mode and it either changes one, some or all the clips to an init tone. There's no rhyme or reason to it. I can't predict how many it will change. I'm trying to launch rows of clips from other projects while the sequencer is running, to build bigger live sets. Obviously clips mode is neccessary. Did you have the initial tone problem? Thanks for the great set and hopefully advice!

    • @digitalmotorclub
      @digitalmotorclub Před 10 měsíci +1

      You set the sound source to clip and have multiples songs in one project. You can have 16 "Scenes" which are essentially 8 different clips that play at the same time.

    Honest question, how much of your tunes are prepared in advance ? Is the performance about launching the proper elements at the right time ? Could you improvise a live set with this ? I'm new to it (play instruments already) and would like to get into it.

    • @MarlinForbes
      @MarlinForbes Před 3 lety

      From the looks of the screen he has a bank of clips for each track in the set. there's lot of tweaking and modification of those clips with live scatter effects, filters.

    One question...
    Can you load different samples / instrument states per cell?

    • @GeyloFollen
      @GeyloFollen  Před 3 lety +3

      You can load different patches/drum kits in the 8x16 clip matrix arrange. Its easy: SHIFT+SEL and the Track Preference menu appears. In general tab, Select CLIP as track source (TRACK is selected by default).
      Now you can select with SHIFT+SOUND any patch/kit to any clip.
