"shooting up your butthole" is still remembered in the streets and quite frankly the human equivalent of gas station food shouldn't have the power to withold such audio traditions from the people.
This is the pinnacle comment. ^^^

Touching on how easy it is to fall into negative content trap, i used to watch a lot of that kind of stuff in the early CZcams days but have found myself drifting towards more upbeat content as i've gotten older. I just do not have the tolerance for people that are clearly just being angry for clicks these days, especially as it's moved from being entertaining to just being spiteful. Great pod as always!
One of the reasons I've started following James and Maso so regularly here is precisely because they always sound like they're having a blast, even when they're talking about shitty news in the world or things they don't like.
EDIT: names, I need more sleep whoops
@@RecRoomPlays I follow Ricky and Eliot/Internet Today for the same reasons- they help make this dystopia a bit more bearable
Yeah, it's pretty pathetic when I see a 40 year old man who's a full-time youtuber that just complains about how every movie is woke.
You're a grown man. No one is forcing you to watch Barbie. It's not for you.
i think a huge problem with negative content creators is that if everything you comment is negative, then as time goes on it would just be whatever. People would eventually feel less like it’s the movies that are bad and more like the creator being a negative person
I feel the same way. I used to watch "Everything wrong with" and then I found "Everything great about" and it was a breath of fresh air. Same with these blokes. Positivity is great.
34:42 Oppenheimer’ apology segment was so good.😂
Excited for Snake Eyes next week!
Did NOT expect a LL Cool J reference in this....LOL

James & Mason are the Marx & Engles of podcasting. OFFICIAL.
So which one mooches off the other? lmao
Edit: I say that in jest

@@WeeklyPlanetPodcast awwwwww mannnnnnnnn!!!
My favourite part of Secret Invasion is how Fury leaves Earth as the president is about to start an all out race war. This is AFTER coming back in the 1st place because his absence caused a human vs skrull conundrum 😂
The show leaves Earth in a worse situation then it began with. Fury accomplished nothing but wasting our time
That show did nothing but damage the MCU and the Marvel brand smh
@@BaithNa It will still be inconsequential for the most part. Until a movie bombs to the point of making no money, I doubt the MCU are going to change anything drastically.
@@ANGELOFDARKification Antman 3 just lost $100+ million.
a long time ago a wise old man once said, "if you have tv guide you don't need a tv" and now I say "listen to the weekly planet don't need to watch all that tv and film" I mean....its all mostly crap nowadays innit? that D&D movie was really freakin' good, shame in flopped, I watched it last night and was shocked to discover I still had form of human emotion. 5/5 would recommend
criminal that movie flopped but it’ll age very well, also it’s killing on streaming
Is that a quote from the lost boys?
@@desertels5119 it is

Stay strong man, I had the same thing happen to me back in may and it fucking sucks but just keep all the good times you had in your head. You’ll get through brother.

The Meg 2 "This time it's the second one!" Godzilla is the sequel to Oppenheimer.
So is Akira the cyberpunk sequel to Oppenheimer? lol
I love that they talk more about Loki than the Meg 2
Adam Driver "not connecting with the script" for the FF movie is low key terrifying.
as a gamer weeb I thought this was referring to a Final Fantasy live action movie lol

Ahh wishing you a speedy recovery mate!!
I'm convinced "Harsh Realm" is an extended bit you guys created.
If you told me The Meg 2 was written by Chat GPT I would believe it.
On the subject of who needs a hit, you have talked about him in the past; Dwayne Rock Johnson. His movie’s recently haven’t performed well, and a lot of his upcoming projects are waffling/scraping for scraps. Such as, Fast saga which didn’t do so well recently and the announcement of life action Moana
Young Rock is pretty good though 😊
The "Dracula on a boat" joke came true in a way...
In mexico the film is called"Dracula, Sea of blood"
After seeing the thumbnail, I am convinced that Stephen Amell is a CGI person
I can’t wait for the eventual animation of Maso vs. the saw puzzles and just shooting jigsaw over and over
This is the only podcast I listen to. Idk what exactly it is about it but I keep coming back
I like it when James is nicer and more polite. Good on you!
This isn't a review of Snake Eyes (2021)
Oh you got it mixed up. They're doing Snake Eyes next week.
@@scarlettNET fuck mate I've seen this film every week for the past year. Why do they do this to me 😩
Recently just watched The Terminal List and the bit towards the end had me in hysterics 😂
The Jason Statham only seems tall. He straps Yorkshire puddings to his shoes.
I’m really disappointed about the Meg movies, because I really like the books, which are very solid, story-wise, also from the creature biology are science based, and I actually learned quite a bit about the ocean flora and fauna. They only kept some character names…and the fish…🤷🏻♂️
I 100% thought this was a joke but apparently not and so from now on when asked best literary adaptation to film I'm naming The Meg
omg they were books?!
I've only read the first one, but yeah, it was decent. I haven't hated either movie, having lowered my expectations before going in, but the first book is definitely better than either movie.
I mean those shark DID exist…just because it’s about a prehistoric animal doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be a schlocky movie, right?
James and Maso saying he was Gambit perfectly in unison is amazing.
My lungs are filled with yorksire pudding. I'm f'g dying at work!!!😂😂😂
I was twitching when they were talking about Harsh Realm waiting for them to realise THAT piece of information relating to it..but it never came.
Squids have those fins at the top of their heads while octopi don't (they both have beaks though)?
Michael Shannon saying "What?" Is my favorite bit of all time.
Seeing some weird comments here regarding the SAG/WGA strike, so gotta say, if you're anti-strike take a couple moments to reconsider your position. You think the workers want to go on strike? Of course not. It's just the only thing that will get the fat cats in power to actually pay attention. You want the strikes to end sooner rather than later? So do the writers and actors. Support the workers who are being horrifically exploited by billionaires who have literally been gleefully talking about trying to just wait the strike out until the writers and actors who make all of the entertainment we all enjoy every day are homeless and starving in the streets. Support workers, they are the ones who keep the world going 'round, not the rich bosses.
Yep, the gap between rich and poor has widened again in Britain. Working people who we relied on to get through the pandemic now need our support.
I support unions and I support the strike but it doesn't change that fact that it's myopic and not a solution for A.I. and automation.
The only real solution is a UBI and universal healthcare because even if the billionaires give the actors more scraps, the rest of us wage slaves will lose our jobs to automation within the next decade.
Myopic is the perfect word to describe the strikes. They should be using their social clout to influence real change for everyone instead of begging billionaires for more money and hurting the entire movie industry and all adjacent industries.
I LOVE dog time. Compilation please 🙏🏻
Me too! Mason and I speak a similar kind of dog gibberish.
The nerve of these strike breakers!!! Working on a War Hammer script in the middle of a strike.

"It's not 11 yet!" at 10:50 hits different
DEFENDERS!
As an American, I personally think the Japanese posting 9/11 jokes in response to the Barbenheimer memes is both 1) Fair and 2) absolutely hilarious. Keep it up Japan 😂
9/11 was a terrorist attack, the nuclear attacks on Japan were an act of war.
A better comparison would be Pearl Harbor.
@@BaithNaL take

@@BaithNaThe nuclear attacks were explicitly an act of terror.

At 25000ft under the sea the water pressure is over 750 times higher than at sea level, however Yorkshire Pudding doesn't deform under high pressure so it forms a useful endoskeleton for divers
Secret Invasion imo failed bc it failed to deliver the premise it promised to deliver: A shapeshifting invasion filled with paranoia ala Invasion of the Body Snatchers and a spy espionage ala The Winter Soldier, which unironically did Secret Invasion better.
Fury didn't feel like a competent protagonist as he was mostly getting pushed around rather than actively moving the plot and despite his accountability to the fault of not helping the skrulls, he never truly faced consequences as he never directly confronted Gravik. Despite losing Talos and Maria Hill, he never seemed to mourn them past the episode he loses them in. Furthermore, the lack of tension and paranoia in a shapeshifting show especially as everyone is shown as who is who and rarely is there enough blanks for the audience to fill in. The worst offender of this is the Rhodey and Fury trying to convince the president who the skrull is when they make it clear who it is earlier in the series, which lacks the tension for the audience it could've had. Compare this to Winter Soldier where Captain America is in the dark for most of the movie, truly not knowing who to trust or what is fully going on until most of the actions is already taken which is something Secret Invasion fails to replicate.
Not only did it fail as a spiritual sequel to Winter Soldier but it failed to deliver an engaging execution of ideas. It didn't have to involve the Avengers although it definitely would've been a plus if it was an Avengers film or an entire phase, but the fact that it couldn't deliver on the idea that it delivered for its smaller scale story is where I feel most of the disappointment comes from.
Once again Marvel (and Star Wars) fans theorize better storylines and end products than what the studios end up producing
@@mundanepantsthat's probably why the AMPTP think they can replace the WGA with A.I.
Sunshine ( Nike masons favourite movie) is a move that turns into a horror.
Nike Mason, just do it
James the hardest you ever made me laugh was a video a million years ago (before you had sponsors) that opened:
“This video is brought to you by that feeling when you are at the top of the stairs and it feels like you are going to fall and you go all like whoooa!! but you’re alright”
The Avengers also removed the The from the title after the first one. Word is this was recommended by Justin Timberlake, as he claimed it's "more clean".
I vote Dracula on a boat again over video game movie
Stephen Amell famous for playing Blue Harvest.
55:00 fucking hilarious, holy holy what a great riff
Do Drac on a boat! Gran Turismo literally looks like one of those fake movie trailers in tropical thunder, it looks so bad 😂😂
Can't wait till they do their snake eyes review
In regards to people who feel like they have to be angry all the time to keep CZcams views, I have to give a shout out to movie reviewer Jeremy Jahns. His first big video was him talking about how awful Transformers 2 was and his early reviews literally had the word "rant" in them. But as early as 2010, maybe even earlier, he made the choice to stop playing the angry fanboy role since it was not only exhausting, and made his friends dislike him, but he wanted to see good movies too. I respected him for that back then and its only become more commendable when you look at the current landscape of film "criticism".
26:35 "Brother, get the armor! The BIG armor."
Jim Jarmusch: Outside of Ghost Dog and Coffee & Cigarettes, consider watching Stranger Than Paradise, Down By Law, Mystery Train, and Night On Earth (or watch those first). What a run! I also enjoyed Broken Flowers, Only Lovers Left Alive and Paterson. The only film of his that I haven't liked, overall, is The Dead Don't Die, although I enjoyed most of it. It's interesting how just a few moments can change your take on a film. Perhaps save that one for last.
Was it the ending for The Dead Don't Die that ruined it for you? I could understand it, but I think I'm the opposite, as I just thought it was middling to fine until the end, when I was like "oh, okay, that was pretty okay". What a weird scale I use, but it feels intuitive to me. (Oh yeah, Ghost Dog was great, I've gotta watch that again)
Mystery Train is the perfect JJ movie.
Down By Law is absolute gold. Roberto Benigni has some classic lines. “You throw the ball to me? I throw the ball to you!”
Spotify listener here, just had to cross over to ask you guys; PLEASE do Dracula on a boat instead of Gran Turismo. Please. I’m begging you.
They didn't even say they're going to do Snake Eyes next week like they do every week.
Bring back the blue harvest bit lol
Masons reactions are the best
Love when Strange New Worlds or Star Trek in general goes full horror. The framing and camera movements are stunning.
29:33 my guess is the new episode of sunny where the gang learns Charlie as a room and a bathroom is a reference to that. The whole gang is like why wouldn’t he use this? But Charlie wants things to stay the same
my brother was big into harsh realm coming off of Xfiles and the guy's other show. It wasn't that bad, waaaaaay ahead of its time. which is what you just said lol its like trying to do west world in 1999. exactly
Was it pre or post Matrix because man did Harsh Realm have some real military industrial complex Matrix vibes.
I Love Mason Statham so much....
I heard the guy from The Bear and Punisher Ebon Moss-Bachrach is playing Terrax the Tamer. Also I'd love to see Jeremy Alan White from The Bear and Shameless be the MCU's Wolverine. Thank God Adam Driver isn't playing Reed Richards because he would be awesome as The Wizard in the FF sequel.
Barbie x 9-11 memes were hilarious.
I thought The Witcher was fine, but I've never read the books or played the games, so I wasn't expecting anything but a fun fantasy show.

Sad you watched Meg over TMNT
I think last week they said it’ll be another month until it’s out in Australia.
"Stephen Amell, YOU HAVE FAILED THIS UNION!"

I'm an animal nerd so I've never liked any movie where the goal is to murder a rare animal. Desperate to know if Jim Jarmusch has seen Blade
Those anti-striking/union comments makes me think Stephen Amell has been around wrestlers too much
I’m glad Righteous Gemstones finally came up because I’d love to know if other people just hate all three of the main characters as much as I do. They seem to get worse with each season and none of them are likable. Adam Devine is the most tolerable, but the other two are some of the most hatable main characters I’ve ever seen on television. All of the character growth from season one was gone in season two and in this third season they’re worse than ever. I enjoyed Eastbound And Down and loved Vice Principals, but man Gemstones has pushed me further and further away with each season.

Hey since writers and actors are on strike maybe Marvel should stop putting out garbage for a year or more and take this as a chance to get their broken sh* together.
Im ok with just moving on and not talking about secret war anymore.
Honestly from the moment Sliders started filming in LA? Yuck! No Thanks! I will take my viewing business elseWHERE!
Jason Statham surviving under that much pressure is a million times LESS believable than anyone surviving in space for more than a few seconds.

Stephen Amell's comments were so fcking annoying coz even when he walked them back it essentially boiled down to "im fed up and want this to be over". NO SHIT SHERLOCK, everyones fed up, no one wants to be out here doing this but its simply what has to be done.
He's not wrong though.
The strikes are myopic and not a real solution to A.I. and automation.
