Amen. My dog has made me a better person. He had surgery on his leg that cost me $7800 and l didn't think twice. Used some savings and put the rest on credit. I used my vacation time from work to take care of him. Since l have no children, my dog is like my child

I'm agree with you, the exposure of your children's life in social media is disgusting. But I think the parents make their children's experience in that way for a reason, and this is to make the memories of this experience more rememberable. If you said your children that you are going to adopt a puppy they would be happier than other moments in their life, but in their far future this wouldn't be so rememberable. But the roller coaster of emotions between the deep sadness and the full happiness make their experience a lifeworth one. I know what I'm saying, in my entire life I remember more the sad and anger experiences I lived than the happy ones. I have no doubt that they will still remember this day in 30 or 40 years.

When I was a kid my mom used to do this to me. She would put me through some horrible distress only moments later to find out that there was some wonderful surprise. Today, decades later , the horrible distress is what I remember and feel most. The wonderful surprise I can barely remember. That sick feeling in my stomach when the horrible distress was happening I remember every detail. I wouldn't dare tell you how to raise your kids. But the truth is I would not want to go through any of the horrible distresses my mom put me through even if I did get the wonderful surprises later.

I’m an animal person, and I was literally *this* emotional my entire life of any animal. My mom used to use animals as a way to upset me because she knew how much I cared. Well, I turned 18 and moved out and started rescuing all the animals I could. I’m now 33 and I have saved the lives of 9 parrots, a lot of red ear slider turtles, 4 rats that would have been let loose somewhere, a cat whose owner dumped him, and very recently I took in two Guinea pigs because their owner just randomly decided hey I don’t like these anymore. Ugh. I’m so glad to see both these ladies this emotional over that dog because I just tell they are both TRUE animal lovers. It’s in our souls. And once you have it in your soul you don’t ever stop
Bless you. It's certainly not a contest but I'm 54. Since I was 31 I've cared for just under 30 cats that were born homeless. I've cared for them since the day they weened from their respective mothers. I've had every single one spayed or neutered. I was caring for 22 at one time during the height of it all. 6 are left. Each one eventually came to trust me and allowed me to love on them. Every time one of them becomes ill and passes, I take on their pain like I can't even describe. It's cost me everything, including relationships. My neighbors won't even talk to me. I'm convinced that's why I was put here. Everyone who is agrivated with me and hasn't hesitated letting me know about it, well their words roll right off of my back. It took me until the age of 31 to find my purpose in what is too often a very cruel and evil world. Again, bless your heart.

Our puppy lasted 15 great years and though my children grew up and moved away, we still had Yoshi. He died of heart failure and my wife and I wept like this girl for a few weeks. He is not replaceable because I know his personality was unique. He was such a good little boy. I could explain so much about him and his super attitude. As he perished, I kissed him and repeated "You're such a GOOD GOOD boy" three long times. He was obedient and respectful. Even the very morning of his death, he jogged through the house with his happy little trot. Oh how it breaks my heart when I come home and he's no longer there.

My mother did the same exact thing to me in 3rd grade. I had asked for a simple Halloween costume to take to my class’ Halloween party for weeks. The day before, she told me she didn’t get it for me after insisting that she did. I cried so hard in the car while she left me in there. 15 minutes later she came to bring me in saying it was just a surprise and the costume was actually in the house. I began to cry even harder because I didn’t understand why she would do something so cruel. She got my hopes up only to bring them crashing down for a “surprise.” I really felt for those girlies, they’re going to remember the sorrow they felt that day for the rest of their lives.
Those 2 girls really felt HEART HURT. You parents shouldn't have put them thru that, even though in the end, yall did get it for them. They should not have felt heart pain by their parents.😢

Agreed. In psych, we learned about these parenting drivers that many parents exhibit. Basically, the parents implies a try hard, try hard, try hard, and mentality, but the parent doesn't want their child to succeed because once the child succeeds then the parent feels they're unneeded. Kids with deep-seated trauma and resentment often have this dynamic. It is very difficult because this occurs all under the surface, and both child and parent can be completely unaware this is happening. Oftentimes, there's still immense love between parent and child in this process, and that's where healing can begin.

I'm going to do this to my kids all of the time. Cause hopelessness, extreme sadness and heartbreak... then swoop in and act like a hero who cured their emotional distress by giving them what they wanted and what I was okay with giving them all along. I love this the kids not stupid. She comprehends that a mother won't just film her depressed crying children and nonchalantly talk about the puppy they loved and left behind. Obviously the family was likely puppy shopping or at least considering it. So just like she said she pretty much "knew" that there was a good chance the puppy was bought and this was all an act. Smart kid... shes able to understand adults and how they would not sit by and tease and nearly mock to crying daughters. And on camera none the less.

These two parents' Plan B was to tell the little girls that they got a phone call from the adoption center, and that the puppy was adopted by someone else, but got run over by a truck, and died. THEN tell the little girls that it was just a prank, and that the puppy was OK, and that he was now their puppy.

Most shelters have a process that makes sure that the owner and dog fit before adoption. It's in the best interest for both the dog and owners to do this, owners need to understand the financial responsibility and the owners need to know that the dog is safe to have in their home.
As a cat person, I never wanted a dog. My wife convinced me to let us get a little Italian greyhound. She's currently sitting on my lap, in her pink onesie I bought her. Absolutely my bestest friend in the whole world ❤

Little children and puppies/kittens have a special connection that is unique in this world. It’s almost like they know that both of them are vulnerable in this world and not sure about themselves and other people around them, only they know that the child and animal love each other unconditionally and will the rest of their lives.

I'm agree with you, the exposure of your children's life in social media is disgusting. But I think the parents make their children's experience in that way for a reason, and this is to make the memories of this experience more rememberable.
If you said your children that you are going to adopt a puppy they would be happier than other moments in their life, but in their far future this wouldn't be so rememberable. But the roller coaster of emotions between the deep sadness and the full happiness make their experience a lifeworth one.
I know what I'm saying, in my entire life I remember more the sad and anger experiences I lived than the happy ones. I have no doubt that they will still remember this day in 30 or 40 years.

When I was a kid my mom used to do this to me. She would put me through some horrible distress only moments later to find out that there was some wonderful surprise. Today, decades later , the horrible distress is what I remember and feel most. The wonderful surprise I can barely remember. That sick feeling in my stomach when the horrible distress was happening I remember every detail. I wouldn't dare tell you how to raise your kids. But the truth is I would not want to go through any of the horrible distresses my mom put me through even if I did get the wonderful surprises later.

Also- people are acting like the parents said "we're getting a dog- go pick one.. actually nevermind.." and that's why the little girl is crying. The most likely thing is they just went to see the dogs with no real intention of getting one- (probably hoping interacting with a dog would get the kids to stop asking for one). I can't even tell you how many times my parents did that with me as a kid. Yeah it was disappointing coming out of the places without a dog even though I had been ecstatic about a specific one.. and we NEVER did end up getting one...

I’m an animal person, and I was literally *this* emotional my entire life of any animal. My mom used to use animals as a way to upset me because she knew how much I cared. Well, I turned 18 and moved out and started rescuing all the animals I could. I’m now 33 and I have saved the lives of 9 parrots, a lot of red ear slider turtles, 4 rats that would have been let loose somewhere, a cat whose owner dumped him, and very recently I took in two Guinea pigs because their owner just randomly decided hey I don’t like these anymore. Ugh. I’m so glad to see both these ladies this emotional over that dog because I just tell they are both TRUE animal lovers. It’s in our souls. And once you have it in your soul you don’t ever stop
Bless you. It's certainly not a contest but I'm 54. Since I was 31 I've cared for just under 30 cats that were born homeless. I've cared for them since the day they weened from their respective mothers. I've had every single one spayed or neutered. I was caring for 22 at one time during the height of it all. 6 are left. Each one eventually came to trust me and allowed me to love on them. Every time one of them becomes ill and passes, I take on their pain like I can't even describe. It's cost me everything, including relationships. My neighbors won't even talk to me. I'm convinced that's why I was put here. Everyone who is agrivated with me and hasn't hesitated letting me know about it, well their words roll right off of my back. It took me until the age of 31 to find my purpose in what is too often a very cruel and evil world. Again, bless your heart.

Our puppy lasted 15 great years and though my children grew up and moved away, we still had Yoshi. He died of heart failure and my wife and I wept like this girl for a few weeks. He is not replaceable because I know his personality was unique. He was such a good little boy. I could explain so much about him and his super attitude. As he perished, I kissed him and repeated "You're such a GOOD GOOD boy" three long times. He was obedient and respectful. Even the very morning of his death, he jogged through the house with his happy little trot. Oh how it breaks my heart when I come home and he's no longer there.

My mother did the same exact thing to me in 3rd grade. I had asked for a simple Halloween costume to take to my class’ Halloween party for weeks. The day before, she told me she didn’t get it for me after insisting that she did. I cried so hard in the car while she left me in there. 15 minutes later she came to bring me in saying it was just a surprise and the costume was actually in the house. I began to cry even harder because I didn’t understand why she would do something so cruel. She got my hopes up only to bring them crashing down for a “surprise.” I really felt for those girlies, they’re going to remember the sorrow they felt that day for the rest of their lives.

Agreed. In psych, we learned about these parenting drivers that many parents exhibit. Basically, the parents implies a try hard, try hard, try hard, and mentality, but the parent doesn't want their child to succeed because once the child succeeds then the parent feels they're unneeded. Kids with deep-seated trauma and resentment often have this dynamic. It is very difficult because this occurs all under the surface, and both child and parent can be completely unaware this is happening. Oftentimes, there's still immense love between parent and child in this process, and that's where healing can begin.

I love this the kids not stupid. She comprehends that a mother won't just film her depressed crying children and nonchalantly talk about the puppy they loved and left behind. Obviously the family was likely puppy shopping or at least considering it. So just like she said she pretty much "knew" that there was a good chance the puppy was bought and this was all an act. Agree. Why break their little hearts in the first place? The planned surprise quickly went awry and shouldn't have continued once it became apparent how broken hearted the kids felt. Still, I think the parents hearts were in the right place, they just didn't anticipate such a strong reaction.
Although this was beautiful, I just could never do that to my children. They were heartbroken. Why carry on the drama and break their little hearts. Anyways, it’s nice to know that this puppy will be truly loved by those two little girls❤
Most shelters have a process that makes sure that the owner and dog fit before adoption. It's in the best interest for both the dog and owners to do this, owners need to understand the financial responsibility and the owners need to know that the dog is safe to have in their home.

That puppy just gained two lifelong BFF's and a fur-ever home. That is one lucky puppy, who is gonna be taken care of, loved on, and protected. Puppy baby has a REALLY wonderful human pack.
