A Heavy Dialogued Scene can go a long way when the characters actually have facial expressions and moves around. Instead of them being stiff and just standing around awkwardly.
Yeah the story would be more tense if the characters are moving around and acting normally. Even though I know how the story quest goes,I still feel like I am on the edge of the seat by listening their every word and every action.
in my case, in the part where yelan goes down with a descending attack, it makes me a bit uncomfortable xd
I understand the point..
But you also need to understand that this is also a game made for Mobile..not just PC..so adding every little detail while it does put a cherry on the top..data storage is still data storage..
Tbf having voice acting in it already enough..they put it in every character story quest/hangout..and Archon quest..
At least still better than no voice all dialogue during World quest/minigame event
I agree, the cutscenes I dont like. You should animate more. I'm not even good at the game
Maybe if the game wasnt so mobile focused then the devs would have a lot more freedom, but i hope they find a way to improve basic stuff like that in the future
I love Itto's role within the Event story. Xiao knows how to get out, but is Anemo and can be talked out of his suicidal plan. Yelan is hydro, desiring to explore all possibilities before choosing a direction to go in. Itto is Geo. He learns punching a hole in the wall is the best way out, decides to punch a hole in a wall, refuses to listen, and punches a hole in the wall. His purpose in the event is to do what no other character "will/would" do, rather than "could". He represents his element with that stubborn personality and refusal to back down. He's a doofus who is totally wrong 90% of the time, but it's that straightforward approach that gave them a chance to escape.
lol such a deep analysis
Thank you for bringing justice to this event. I laughed when Yelan did a plunge attack during her entrance
Still enjoyed it though, lore and ending animation wise
Yeah
@@elyindeyang2152 lol
Ye it's so goofy
This is way better than the usual Genshin cutscenes.
Yeah :(
Yeah but they can't do much because they have to worry about it running on mobile đ
If genshin was pc focused then the devs would have so much freedom
â@@itriyum Eh, I always figured it was because of localization issues. While it would be nice to have the mouthing and physical mannerisms match up, they would have to time it for every single language.
@@itriyum Animation data are stored via keyframes. The animation in this video was done by keyframes, the same method is used for genshin's usual stock "animations" you see. If the devs were to insert fully rendered animations, they'd end up being heavy, but storing animation via keyframe data for the engine to animate the characters by itself on the go doesn't take space, and will animate at the same pace as your device's capacity. It's just laziness.
@@itriyum I hope they'll do it once Sumeru comes out because I'm 100% sure all the mid range mobile players (including me sadly) will get perished so they got a bit of space to work on some heavy project

Na if they do that then the game size needed to be increased pretty drastically although still it's a really good concept
Some people donât care about the storage Lmao anyway..
I guess they'll eventually do it since a Genshin anime is on the way.
@@TheCucoGamer Most of the playerbase consist of mobile users with low storage phones, so a lot of people would care đż
The edge Yelan is in on, talking while grinding her teeth. The absolute Arrogance of Itto and attempts to not show weakness with slight sidelook. The seriousness of Shinobu and the worryness of Yanfei, both trying to play mediator.
The facial expressions communicate so much more with the words, it's so good.
I saw many mmd before and this one is more amazing. Seeing the characters emotions and body language makes the story more interesting.
There is more work in a little video than the game itself with the animation and character body language. Sad to see that mihoyo is not really trying to put some effort in it.
(Iam not talking about the ingame cinematics), those are beautiful, but they need to put the same effort or close to it to how characters interact with eachothers in a dialogue.
@@blackister4768 Agreed. Hell, i don't mind if the ingame quality falls down a bit during dialogue scenes so long as we get proper animations that match their speech. Small time genshin animators with a budget of zero already do a better job than mihoyo with their millions. :/
Compared to how I felt when I saw this part of the quest in-game, I felt way more engrossed watching this than I did then. Such a small thing adds so much life to the characters.
@@a1038954 Ingame we have like 3-4 animations in a dialog, and its the same for every characters. They are not even trying to sync the mouth too, some time a character will speak with his mouth closed. I know its a phone game, i know they are greedy and they don't care about anything but money is the only word, they need to do better.
Even if its not the main problem in the game, they need to do more than just doing the bare minimum.
I wouldn't mind replaying the entire game if they gave more life and animation to the cutscenes
My guy could have just kept shinobuâs mask on to avoid lip syncing but didnt. Actual chad amazing work
Actually, it'd be more accurate to the scene with the mask on I think. Truly a chad.
Itto's lines are so expressive, it's a crime that he is forced into a stationary position outside of cutscenes.
2:45 Itto out of context
2:10 she totally missed her chance to say "things might get a little dicey"
Itto...the last time you got into it with a tall lady with a bow, you lost your vision...maybe don't press your luck?
They even have the same haircut...
To be fair, the same lady won't accept a rematch. To Itto, that's pretty close to an admission of defeat.
@@allenearl1514 Yes, but he's also trying to skew that rematch in his favor by challenging her to a sumo match which she, being smaller thinner and lighter, clearly has a disadvantage in. He ain't challenging her to proper fight like last time, because he might lose again.
@@judaihyuga As much as I love Itto, I think you're giving him too much credit in the intelligence department. Lol
@@joshbenn3079 did not even realize đ bro has a type
Honestly the stiff in game animations of the character models don't give Itto's expressive voice any justice, thank you for this
"Oh no, I'm going in whether she likes it or not!"
....Phrasing, Itto dude. Phrasing.
I did NOT expect someone to animate a dialogue cutscene from the game in full.
Props to the fans for doing this honestly. It's understandable that Hoyoverse/miHoYo staff definitely does not have the time or manpower to fully animate each cutscene, but this...this is just amazing.
If they wanted, they could do it.
@@shevek5185 that's really not how it works... This kind of animation takes time, which is why you only see 1-3 animated or mo-capped scenes in any event or story quest. Animators aren't machines, and while I think they could maybe squeeze in a couple more here and there to emphasize certain scenes better, it's not easy for them to do too many more than a few.
@@sneakretster this is a company that makes more than 1 billion every six months and these are not the most complex cinematographics. They could totally do it.
@@shevek5185 if you expect them to somehow make animations for most cutscenes of the same quality as the specific cutscenes then you obviously don't really know anything about game development and the time things take, regardless of profits đ€š
@@shevek5185 that's optimistic, but the millions they earn is not going to the game alone, and I'm positive you know that. There are expenditures and investments behind the scenes that go unrecognized. They have other games to make, employees to pay, offices and equipment to maintain, miscellaneous items to purchase, legal matters to attend, etc. This isn't just a group of people making a game. This is a company that actually provides desk jobs, and that money is going to a lot of places, not just animation.
I'm not saying I'm against Hoyo investing in better quality animations. I'm all for it, but this is not something that can be implemented overnight. In fact, I believe they're making great strides as of late, outputing more animations, larger maps, etc. They definitely have these improvements in mind, but business decisions have to be made.

Probably because people were already complaining about the 20 smth GB updates. I doubt phone storage can take much more
There's a lot of logistical issues that'll stop this from ever happening.
Most people mentioned storage already but the amount time it would take to animate every scene like this in a game that has to push updates every 6 weeks is asking for bit too much.

Man this is captured so well. To keep up with the update schedule the devs are forced to keep most of the cutscenes to pre-used animations but they could do something like this the game would be so much nicer for it. I can actually feel Itto having a chip on his shoulder here.
I understand both arguments. Yelan had the right to tell Itto leave because the Chasm is dangerous and she does not know his intentions. However, Shinobu and Itto were right about the have sign or at least a barrier. People should not be able to walk in the area causally. It is really the Qixing fault for not make sure the Chams is barriercate before outsiders enter. This made Yelan's job harder and made Itto and Shinobu believe that the place is safe.

What kind of BS luck Itto/Shinobu must've had to miss them all is beyond me...
Funny, I thought Yelan has the rights to do so and Itto shouldn't get the butts of these at all, yet at the same time, I found Itto's antics being hilariously entertaining and more than often to break conventions of Teyvat people's usual monotonous conversations
There are guards everywhere in the official entrances of the chasm. And still, the law enforcement's shortcomings don't excent you from a crime. Itto was trasspassing a restricted area, simple as that. You need special permits to be in the Chasm. Saying Itto is fine just because there wasn't any sign is like saying that you are not wrong for breaking inside someone's house because the door was unlocked.
