This moment .. This moment is when Lu Bu finally found out that brawns do not win all battles. Xiapi is flooded, Chen Gong is frustrated and almost all his troops turned against him. This moment is when Lu Bu FINALLY think of something than to kill. Destroying the walls to flush out the water is something not that bright but it is a start. Lu Bu raided CaoCao's camp but the hero of chaos still outsmarted the demon. Rest in peace, Lu Bu. May we meet again in Orochi 4

@CoffeeSuccubus I don't think it's downgraded, but it's becoming more and more monotonous with the "I can take on a whole army by myself with all these unrealistic moves."
Too many enemies on the screen and only a couple of them are dangerous (depending on difficulty).
In DW 2-4, less enemies on screen, but all of them were aggressive and hit you multiple times.
The gameplay and graphics are great, but it no longer feels like a real battle like with the old ones.

@@EpicvidsKetti08 Nope. The problem here was that, this time around Lu Bu wasn't at fault. They didn't have enough men to deal with the kind of strategy Cao Cao employed. Otherwise Cao Cao's strategy simply wouldn't work. You can even see it if you get enough of those hypothetical stars(Liu bei sends reinforcements to guard one castle and Yuan Shao crings reinforcements to protect the main camp. all they needed were more people to reinforce both castle's security. Because they didn't really do anything different in terms of strategy.
The main problem with Lu Bu's army is that he is too proud to add more troops to his own. Also, In order for his wishes to be fulfilled the way he wants Chen Gong wasn't enough. They needed more strategists to not overload the main strategist. So Chen Gong would be able to deal with problems that arise when one of his tactics fail. Which is what happened in this mission.

      @toilethead1011 Před 9 lety +2

+ItoMadWorld Xun Yu was the one who advised Cao Cao to take control of the emperor, which effectively legitimized nearly all of Cao Cao's actions. He was also played a major role in defending Puyang when Lu Bu attacked Yanzhou. Man Chong only had more roles because he lived longer, but Xun Yu was really the more celebrated of the two because if Cao Cao never controlled Emperor Xian, he probably would lack a lot of the prestige that either prevented people from opposing him (Liu Cong) or allowed him to gain an army of such size. Also, Xun Yu played a major role in Guandu since he was responsible for keeping his lord from retreating. Man Chong's only major roles were at Hefei Castle and at Fan Castle. Although Man Chong helped a lot, his actions weren't as defining as Xun Yu. Also don't even try to have Man Chong stop what happened at Shiting, everyone should now at this point that Jia Kui was the one who was already giving Cao Xiu the warnings, so it's unfair to not give him the credit he deserves.
As for potential characters, I feel like Sima Yan's too late in the game to actually do anything (given how we still don't have enough late Wu officers). The recent blast portraits make me curious about characters like Hu Lie for Jin. Sima Fu's also a consideration given his role in Hefei Castle and how he actually lived past the end of Wei. Pang Hui's possible, but he only really did something during the campaign against Shu. In Wei's department, given how Guo Jia and Xun Yu are here, I feel that it's a sin to keep out Cheng Yu at this point since the three were among Cao Cao's first strategists. Having Wei characters during Cao Pi or Cao Rui's reigns like Chen Tai or Sun Li wouldn't hurt either. Wu really lacks characters during Jin's story. Aside from Lu Kang, Liu Dai, Zhuge Ke and Zhu Yi all have Blast portraits, so they can be considered. Xu Sheng, Jiang Qin, Zhu Zhi and Cheng Pu are good options. In Shu's department, Liao Hua is always there by default, but it would be good if we had Zhang Yi or Zhang Ni so that the English localization could finally get the names right. Having Jian Yong or the other of Liu Bei's early supporters would also be nice.

    • @toilethead1011
      @toilethead1011 Před 9 lety

"only Sima Yi was able to counter Zhuge Liang", Zhang He was feared, and Cao Zhen and Hao Zhao repelled Zhuge Liang as well, Sima Yi only lived long enough to actually have a rivalry. Cao Cao would've fled at Guandu regardless if he had Guan Yu and more strategists and generals with him or not since the problem was with logistics, not any actual problem with being overwhelmed. Also, saying Xun Yu shouldn't be with Wei is like saying Xiahou Ba should be affiliated with Shu instead since he did more as a Shu officer than as someone in later-Wei. As I've said, without Xun Yu, Wei would've never lasted. If Cao Cao didn't get the emperor, he wouldn't have as many legitimate claims for land. If Xun Yu or Cheng Yu weren't around at Yanzhou, Lu Bu would've taken the entire province, and Cao Cao would have no base at all. Even if Man Chong lost Hefei, there was still a lot of good ground to retreat to Xuzhou.
I don't really get how being a part of the Sima family is important with Du Yu (Zhuge Dan was also Sima Yi's son-in-law, and that's never mentioned in-game). Pang Hui's only mention in history was during the campaign against Shu, and he everything after that wasn't mentioned at all. Stop focusing on Jin and give Wu some more light. Unless Wu gets more officers aside from Lu Kang, you're going to have nothing but a bland battle ahead of you that's supposed to be "conclusive", and Lu Kang's already dead at this point, so Wu still lacks playables to make the battle interesting. Lu Kang's a mutual point so be quiet about him.
Having a major role as a generic never guarantees that said character will be playable, Liao Hua, Hua Xiong and Yuan Shu have been generics for years, so keeping Man Chong as an important generic is more likely occur given how he's one of the less popular blast characters (Xun Yu reached top 5 characters in the popularity poll).

Vanish represents Yu Jins humiliating surrender, Pang Des final Hurrah by dying near his coffin, Cao Rens badass stand at fan castle, Xiahou Dun (or Xu Huang if you wanna give him the credit and tired of Dun stealing the thunder) finally settling the score with Guan Yu, the final battle of the Cao Cao era of Wei and the beginning of the slow rise of the Simas, while Wu represents Lü Mengs illness and one final attempt to making Zhou Yus two kingdoms concept a reality but fails to do so due to his frail body, so attempts to reclaim Jing Province as a final Hurrah
While Solo is more somber representing the fall of Guan Yu but his valiancy earns him the title "God of War". Even though historically he was dickish, it's still a way to go regardless. It also represents Liu Beis grief hearing his sworn brother dying to a former ally, shortly before Zheng Da kills Zhang Fei too.

Wu is waiting to see how things play out and has allied itself with Shu.
However, it seems they are not working well together.
First we must lure Wu's forces inside the castle in order to prevent Shu's
flood attack. Afterwards, we will drown the enemy ourselves.
For the sake of Wu, we must join forces with Shu for the time being. Our target is the enemy
main camp at Fan Castle! Everybody, forward!
So, Wu is planning to use a strategy against us, are they? In that case, we
    must prepare a strategy ourselves.
It would be dishonorable to continue the flood attack with the Wu forces inside the castle. Send out
a messenger and inform them of the situation.
It is imperative to our strategy that communications between Wu and Shu be cut off.
    We must stop that messenger.
We have severed the line of communication between Wu and Shu. Now we must
continue on luring Wu to the castle.
We cannot use the flood attack with the Wu forces inside the castle.
Tell Guan Ping to return at once.
I must speak with my father about our upcoming strategy. Guan Suo
and the others should keep an eye on the floodgates.
The Shu forces are thin near the floodgates. Leave the Wu forces inside
the castle for now. We must take back the floodgates.
What are they doing here?! No... they must be planning to flood the entire castle
and the Wu army along with it! I won't let that happen!
Open the floodgates. I want you to drown the Wu and Shu forces inside the castle.
I thought the flood attack was stopped! Run! Get out of here before the water comes!
Next, we must destroy the fragile alliance between our enemies. Say
that the flood attack was carried out by Shu.
Shu! How dare you flood the castle while your allies are still inside!?
Do you monsters have no shame?!
We've lost our men who were heading for Fan Castle... Curse that Guan Yu
    for betraying us like this!
It is no longer clear who our enemies are. Since we do not have a grasp on the
current situation, we should withdraw for now.
I shall defeat Guan Yu and protect the castle! Everybody, we must give this fight
    everything we've got!

Also no, what battles can you recall where 800 had pushed back 800,000 defensively in rotk China?
You're making it sound like the original achievements were not that great, when Zhang Liao has always been a relatively capable warrior, more so than most officers.
