a lot of teenage boys weren't focused on the car at first! 👍👍🇨🇦
Indeed, or any warm blooded male for that matter 😉👍
Yes yes we were.
I got to ride one when I was ten ,my dad did car interior repair in Virginia Beach .
One day a dealer needed him to fix a rip in the seat of his Lamborghini, he said on one condition you have to take my son for a ride.
I'm sure glad I went to work with my dad that day.
Cool👍
good man lol
Cool story. Had to be a larger than life experience.
@@rapidride2 it's one experience that I never forgot.
What a awesome story man. Heck yeah , this is what life is all about
never been a big fan of 'supercars'. i prefer old American muscle. but this is one of two exceptions to the rule. love this car.
Yep, same opinion here on that one; as you can probably tell from my channel already 😉
@@CarStarz42 that's why we all love this channel so much. i mean, you were able to find 10 interestings facts about a Pacer. that's not an easy task to do. lol
@@rockzhard2009 LOL, you're telling me! 😁
@rockzhard2009 the pacer thing made me think of this: we just had a car show last weekend. Just happened to see a bone stock looking, very clean gremlin driving into town.
They might have a trailer at one of the farther out hotels, but I prefer to believe that someone actually roadtripped that thing.
Pure middle finger vibe for the rest of the crowd. 😂

The most exceptional looking super car ever built. There may be more brutal ones, more beautiful ones, faster ones, more powerful ones. But the Countach is exceptional.
True, not many cars are built up with the sole purpose to put people in awe as the Countach! 😉👍
In my view it IS the most beautiful car ... Only possibly rivaled by the Lamborghini Miura ... If I had a choice, it'd be this Countach
The star of one of the all time best movie intros. (the 12cyl sound under accelleration alone is goose bump material)
Fun fact: the spoilers actually made the cars slower. Years ago there as a celebration of Lamborghini where the owner (?) of a btisih car magazine (and car collector and owner of a Countach) was in italy for. There they mentioned that customers wanted spoilers for looks, but the spoilers didn't do anything aero wise apart from add drag and thus lowering the actual possible speed significantly.
I saw this car in person at the Jacksonville, FL 2001 New Car Show in late 2000, at the Prime Osborne Convention Center. It was on display in the same room as BMW’s. I remember a BMW M Coupe (Z3) with the new E46 M3 engine sitting nearby. I was surprised at how “small” the Countach looked in person, and the black paint had scratches all over it! It was probably the original paint from the movie! 👍😎👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
me watching this as a 7 year old "that car is the sweetest thing I've ever seen, why don't we have one dad?"
me now "the front wing and the 12 exhaust tips are hideous"
Lol, indeed 😁
At least for me, it was like he said, first introduction to the car.
Still an amazing looking car, even w the goofy front spoiler. (I honestly don't remember noticing the tips back then.)
Can we get a video on Christine?
That's one of my favorites; I 'm just saving it for my favorite season to do, which is around Halloween time 😉👍
Thanks for another great video 👍🏻
This is still the only super car I like
Definitely the one that caught my attention the most over the years anyways 😉👍
Love your vids & knowledge of the vehicles.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed them 👍
Very well done as always 👍👍👍👍
Thanks much and glad you enjoyed it👍
If possible, you should talk about the Lamborghini used in Speed Zone!! And please include the cool fact that The Mythbusters “busted” the myth that a car could skim a pond. 👏😎🙏
I'll add it to the list to try to look into. Indeed, some custom high power vehicles with paddle tires can drive across the top of a body of water, but certainly not a Lambo, lol.
Great video
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it 👍
actually it wasnt the other drivers he was worried about, he was afraid that his friend wouldnt be able to handle the car, thus defeating the point of the run, as the ferrari daytona from the first run was more than a match for the poor countach, and WAS the actual fastest car at the time
as the 4 liters are really only good for about a 170, and the wings take about 15 mph off, its why they had that massive overhaul into the 5 liter and the quattrovalve latter on
which actually produced upwards of 500 horsepower and gave the same zero to 60 figures as a 288 GTO and added an inch to the roofline, hence why the 4 liters look so much better, and that was done in response to the testarossa coming out
which was a remake of the ferrari daytona just in midengined form, a grand tourer, not a race car, which actually had horsepower figures closer to the 4 liter cars
but was still close enough that it outsold it pretty well
McQ's Super Duty Trans Am. 👍
Ah, I've forgotten that one, I'll add it to the list to look into; thanks👍
I went down to the national mall when Hagerty had it on display.
For me the countach is still the king of the Road ❤

how about doctor fates car from the great race?
Glad you are enjoying it. That's definitely one that I haven't thought of, but I'll add it to the long list to look into. Thanks
fredmacdonald9339 I've seen Professor Fate's car in person. It was in a car museum in Buena Park, CA. Back in the 70's. It was powered by a VW engine. Sadly the museum closed many, many decades ago. What happened to it after that .? Who knows. The name of the museum was Jim Brucker's Cars of the stars and Planes of Fame. The caretaker was someone you might have heard of Von Dutch.
Excellent video! And of course, I had a red Countach on my wall in the early 80s and just watched The Cannonball Run for the thousandth time! RIP to almost the entire cast ! Still worship these movies today! Real car movies, no BS CGI and Fast & Furious bogus crap! I miss real stunts, and real cars! Not these Transgender Vehicles of today! Every time I see one of these F&F knock offs, I want to drive over it with my mini monster Taco S.A.Swap! That would be so awesome!
Thanks and I know exactly what you mean; I don't accept CGI junk when it comes to cars either.
Cool fact the Lamborghini in the second movie Driven by Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke) was owned by John Schneider (Bo Duke)
Catherine is her first name, not Barbra.... honest mistake

When you're ready to do boats you can start with suck my wake from the great outdoors
Lol, I love that movie for sure, but I'm not a water person so boats aren't my thing, sorry.
Un-Sexy fact number 11: The rear wing was mainly decorative and while it may have contributed some downforce/stability, it definitely added a lot of aerodynamic drag. In combination with that very un-aerodynamic combo of the front wing plus extra driving lights, the actual top speed with 375bhp would have been in the region of 150-160mph. Some way short of Lambo's claim of 195mph and miles away from the 220mph claimed by the Hot Chicks in the film.
Indeed an aerodynamical disaster undoubtedly, but sure looks cool though 😉👍
@@CarStarz42 Have to say, I have always preferred the purity of the original Countach. No massive rear arches and tyres, no rear wing, and sitting on the original 14" wheels😎👍
The rear spoiler is just a Countach fact, the angle was zeroed out because if it made any downforce at all, it would lift the front end up and make the steering very light and vague like what plagued the Miura. Meanwhile the front spoiler was classified as a 5 mph bumper to get it road legal. I think it was the same for the rear tube bar above the exhausts
FACT # 11. -------->. opening scene was filmed in Boulder City....... outside of Las Vegas...... only 5 miles from the Hoover Dam !
Cannonball Ball Run film set was dangerous too. There was accident with a Aston Martin crashing, where a stunt woman flew through the windshield and was paralyzed for life. The Aston Martin didn't have seat belts ! Hal Needham's production company got sued over that. It did create a law that all movie stunt cars no matter the vintage must have seatbelts.
Yikes 😬
From what I recall when the lawsuit was going through the courts and they featured it on the local L.A. news reports as well as articles in the L.A. Times, the stuntwoman was not even supposed to be in the car...she wanted to be there and insisted on it. I think they were going to use a dummy, but relented and allowed her after all. They actually had clips of the crash on the news. Not sure if that cut footage can be found on YT.
Adrienne Barbeau! 🔥.
Indeed 👍
Didn't know it was in the National Historical Registry.
Definitely the car that everyone fanboy over but I just can’t get over the aerodynamic ridiculousness of that front mustache XD
😁
The top speed of that car was without the front wing. The front wing actually hurt the aero on that car which was never great to begin with despite the wedge shape. Brute force from that V12 made that thing hustle.
Dazed and confused O'Bannon's car
Yeah, more Dazed and confused cars will be looked into eventually, when making second rounds through the large movie list down the road. 👍
Quite a few nice cars from dazed and confused!

I seem to remember a color change in the movie, while evading HP some construction workers hosed it off with a large high pressure hose on a water truck. Might have been in the second one, I'm not sure... guess I'll have to watch them again.
Yep, that was the opening scene of the second movie. when Bach says "Thanks for the hose job guys", lol 😉👍

Modified Lola T70s
Ahhh, this is why i can't afford a lamborghini because they are super expensive brand where even simple oil change cost way more than used car price is nowadays but thank you carstarz for countach video as i like to give you heads up on the cannonball fever movie is where we get to see a lambo tempting to jump over medium sized river was in fact stunt car but also the stunt itself wasn't more than skipping across a just barely sunk pre made platform so there was no danger at all anyway thanks and have good day bye now.

Sheiks Rolls Royce
Jamie and Finderbaums Ferrari
Michael and Jackie's Subaru

0:42 So the weird front wing spoiler thing wasn't a mod?
Think you'll find that wasn't a factory option.
Nope, well; not a mod for the movie anyways. The folks who imported it had to add that wing/bumper + a rear bumper to make it legal for use in the USA actually, so that was done even before the first owner bought it.
@@CarStarz42 Oh righto. 🤓
So many movie cars to see. So cool. Even a few from this movie also. Lol

@@CarStarz42 they have been great to see indeed. Thanks for doing them
no mention of the non-factory front wing?
No, because that was actually on the car before filming which is why I didn't think about it at the time. Only a handful of the early Countachs that were imported first had that front wing installed by a small third party company in order to pass as a front bumper in the US to meet the safety regulations of the time; we had a thread discussion on here going about that at one point if you would like to read through that to learn more 😉
